Such a weird place… bar that gets busy and seems casual inside of a restaurant that claims to be «fine dining» and none of it makes any sense!

What the hell happened? This place used to be wonderful, but the food has taken a turn for the worst recently. Me and my lover came in one day to eat at our favorite Irish pub(not many places in the High Point area have great food but this was the exception) however what occurred on this day was one of the worst restaurant experiences in recent memory. Let’s see… As soon as me and my lover walked through the door, the hostess /i guess waitress eyeballed us like we shouldn’t even be allowed to eat there. «What is your deal, woman?» I thought to myself as she walked us to one of the many empty tables(we were the only people there). Anyway, soon after sitting down in the empty restaurant, we began to look over the menu. I was debating between 2 dishes I had tried before and enjoyed — the fish n chips and the shepherds pie, and ultimately went with the fish n chips which I had previously rated a 9⁄10. However, as soon as the plate was placed down on the table, I immediately noticed a difference in the look and quality of the fish. I took a bite, and was shocked to discover NOFLAVOR. It was COMPLETELYFLAVORLESS. The goddamn tarter sauce had more flavor. I honestly feel that this was a frozen, microwaved meal that I ended up paying $ 20 for. I… I don’t know what happened. Oh, and the service was also very bad. For being the only people in the restaurant, it took an extremely long time to get the check. Like a lot longer than it should have. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. I would give this place a zero if I could. What a letdown. Thank u

Come here every time I’m in Greensboro. Like the bar best and Crystal is our favorite server. Try the Scottish salmon appy.

The bangers and mash was decent, but not worth $ 17. Overall the experience left much to be desired with mediocre food quality and an overpriced menu. We came to use up a coupon but we don’t intend to come back.

This place is a perfect, traditional Irish pub. It’s a quite low-key restaurant when it needs to be and a fun pub at night with live music.

Have eaten here a few times and it’s decent. Their happy hour plates are good and priced right. I do not recommend the fish and chips for lunch. The fish was small and heavily battered and there’s about 6 – 8 French fries — not nearly enough food for the $ 10. Even the full portion wasn’t much and was about $ 17. We were very disappointed and may not be back(for lunch at least).

OK here’s the real skinny on The Claddagh. The food here is horrible. They make a decent sandwich but anything other than that is Swanson grade at best. What was once a great restaurant is now this pathetic excuse for a restaurant. The bar area is dimly lit with dark wood and certainly looks bar like. Not many beer choices on the menu. The restaurant side is also dim, and worn looking, yet the tables are dressed up like a first class restaurant. The menu is rather small and way over priced. The service was OK but after I complained about the food all they did was process my credit card as fast as possible. No offer to make it right or any other option. So if you are the owner and reading this DONOTEMAILMEOFFERINGFREEFOOD!!! I am not interested. You were there when this took place and didnt even bother to walk in and check on it. So boo to you and your sleezy wait staff. The food. Fish and chips: cost a whopping $ 15.99 for 2 small frozen fish pieces that were heavily breaded and dripping grease. The slaw was at least a day old and turning brown. The fries were OK and definitely the best part. Absolutely nasty. Shepherds Pie: Also a whopping $ 15.99 for a small dish of finely ground meat product covered with mashed potatoes that were likely instant or frozen. The whole thing had zero taste and looked like dog food. Sadly it didnt taste nearly as good! Just awful. They have a coupon for $ 10 off, and thats why I came here to try it out. The waitress informed us after ordering that the coupon was not valid during the day, though it didnt say anything about that on the coupon. They honored it anyway. Even with the coupon this place is way over priced and the cheap quality food is not worth it. Throw the coupon away and go to a decent restaurant. You will be much better off. I complained to the waitress but she didnt offer to do anything at all. Just have a nice day. You can bet I will sweetness. I will have a better one in another restaurant where they dont offer low grade dog food. Bad, bad, bad.

Don’t go here, it was a really bad experience. We ordered onion soup, not only was it cold the onions were burnt and black specs of onion or pan were floating in the soup. Sour cream for the baked potatoes was spoiled. Hamburgers that were ordered well done were red and cold in the middle. Sandwiches, which seem hard to mess up were not impressive. Desserts looked ok, but we were ready to leave after the first 2 courses. It was not good, save yourself the experience!

The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the salmon floretine and sweet potato casarole. The atmosphere was kind of loud due to season of high point furniture market. Service was great!

I used to love this place. The food was fantastic, the wait was short and the prices were reasonable. Since the new ownership took over, the menu has been greatly reduced and the prices have risen on the items that were not cut. The morale amongst the wait staff seems low. Might be the 12 year old host the provides direction to them. The wait time to get your food seems to take forever. Huge falloff for what was once a gem in High Point.

First time here. Good enough atmosphere and the Guinness is on special. But the food is terrible. The«fresh» chicken is clearly frozen and not good quality. No effort put into the burgers the look and taste thrown together. Would come for drinks again but will not order the food again.

Dark, Old, Dirty, Poor Service and Lousy Food. That’s just a start. Went in with with my wife for a nice dinner. Instead had to listen to the wait staff drop F Bombs about who knows what. Ordered the Chicken Pot pie. No chicken in it and it was covered in mash potatoes. Sucked. She got the Shepard’s Pie. It was nothing short of dog food covered in mash potatoes. Bottom line. Don’t go.

I’ve had good service and good food at this place every time I’ve gone in(3 times now,) my only complaint is that the price is pretty high for the portion size. The food is very good, but I wouldn’t classify it as gourmet, so I’m not sure why it comes with such a big price tag.

Our stop here for lunch yesterday proved interesting and informative, with some mixed results on our meal choices. This place is a bit off center, location wise — located a block or so behind Biscuit Factory, near the intersection of Eastchester & N. Main, but rather hidden from view. The area is not particularly appealing, and they share a parking area with an accounting firm. The outside belies the rather attractive, somewhat upscale interior. The bar area to the right of the entrance is roomy, dark wooded, inviting, a real pub feel to it. The dining area to the left is bright, with lots of green and white, the tables attractively setup with cloth napkins and table cloths. This is a narrow dining area, rather cozy, but could be noisy if crowded. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. We ordered a couple of Irish standards — Corned Beef & Cabbage($ 10.95 for the small), and Fish & Chips($ 9.95 also for the small). The Fish & Chips was rather a disappointment in most every way. The size of the piece of fish was indeed small, especially once the heavy handed batter was penetrated. What little was there was not especially fresh tasting, nor was the batter. The Chips were just ok. Overpriced and bland, & would not order again. The Corned Beef & Cabbage was superb — the beef nearly falling-a-part tender, the cabbage and red potatoes cooked perfectly, and the broth in which all was immersed, was sublime — as good as any I’ve tasted anywhere, including London, New York, and Boston. I’d come just for this dish. The menu offers some other typical dishes — Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers & Mash, Chicken Pot Pie — and some not some typical — Fettuccine Alfred & and a Vegetable Stir Fry. There are pub sandwiches, including a Reuben and Burgers, and more. Also a few salad choices, including a small Salad & Potato Bar in the bar area. This is a cool place for a comfort lunch(picking the right dish is important), or a nice pint or two after dark. It is a noisy place, a little Irish music goes a long, long way, and the daily vacuuming might be better done before the start of business hours.

Overall, it was just okay. The atmosphere was nice. When you walk in there is a narrow lobby that really does give it the cozy pub feeling. To the right is the bar and to the left is the dinning room. We ate in the dinning room which was small and cozy but not cramped. The dinning room was a bit fancy for what I would consider a pub but was nice all the same. There were tons of dark woods and hunters green which were all fitting of a nice pub. The service/customer service was less than what I had hoped for. Our waitress was void of any real personality which made it appear as if she was bothered to have a table of folks willing to buy things. She told us the soup of the day was Hunter’s Soup. When we asked what was in this soup her response was, «I’m not sure… a bunch of meat I guess.» Ummmm, you guess? Obviously we could discern from the name that it contained«a bunch of meat» but we were looking for a more detailed description of the dish seeing as how it wasn’t on the menu. We were sitting about halfway into the dinning room so halfway from the kitchen and halfway from the entrance. At one point, before we had ordered, the Irish themed music had stopped and there was nothing but muttered conversations… and Rihanna. That’s right… nothing says authentic Irish Pub more than the kitchen blasting Rihanna so loud we could hear it word for word halfway through the dinning room. We had to ask the waitress to ask the kitchen to turn it down which is a bit sad. The place was fairly clean. There were two table clothes on each table in the dinning room; dark green covered with white in a diamond pattern. While we were sitting down there were hard crumbs under the white table cloth which means that the table hadn’t been cleaned properly. The hallway to the bathrooms and the bathrooms themselves were tiny so there was a small line of ladies waiting in a cramped space to use the bathroom. The menu was odd. There were Italian dishes everywhere! Pasta, Marsala, and pesto! Irish?! There was only one section on the whole menu featuring Irish dishes and those of course were the typical Irish fair like Sheppard’s Pie and Bangers and Mash. But why so many Italian dishes? I was really confused. I had the Sheppard’s Pie because if I’m going to an Irish place I want Irish. The pie was decent. Not the worst representation of the dish but far from the best. It lacked the lite toss of cheese on top of the mash and the top of the mash didn’t have to pretty brown color. It was clear that the meat/veggie portion has been made in bulk and spooned in because the veggies were old(espc the peas) and lacked the crunch you will get from fresh veggies. A guest at my table, as well as a guest at the table behind us, complained that the food was served barely warm and not hot. They had my favorite pub drink called the Snakebite which was nice. After our meal we when to the bar area which was so much better! The only downside was the massive amount of smoking going on on the porch just outside and every time the door opened a huge waft of smoke would bellow in. Not good folks. We had planned to stay for another hour or so just having some drinks and socializing but we couldn’t take the smell. Food:3 Atmosphere:3 Cleanliness: 3 Service: 2 Value: 3 Total: 2.8

Where can I start? This is another one of my favorite places in High Point. I frequent The Claddagh more than I care to admit. The staff is truly fabulous. The more you visit, the more you feel like family. They have a wide variety of beers on tap, Guinness being my absolute favorite.(It is very difficult to find on tap.) They also have a full bar, so try your favorite or ask your bartender to make theirs. I’ve done this a few times and I have always been pleased. The Claddagh’s menu is truly fabulous! The price range is anywhere from $ 8-$ 30. Their lunch menu and bar menu are available all day for those of you not wanting to experience a full course dinner menu. However, for those patrons craving a delectable steak or something of the like, you will not be upset that you spent $ 25 for it. I have had many different things on the menu and I have enjoyed every single one. They also serve brunch on Sundays. This place is a local gem!

This review is for the bar area only. We stopped in late one night, for a nightcap only. There was a guitar duet there, but I swear it was the most quiet guitar music I have ever heard. You could hear people talking clearly over the music. There is ZERO diversity here, me and hubby stuck out like sore thumbs. This is never an issue for us, but for some reason I noticed the lack of ethnicity at this joint. Yes, it is an Irish pub, but there are Irish people of other races! The drinks were okay, staff seemed pretty nice. I doubt that I would go back though.
