It’s wonderful to see a little café on the Main Street in High Bridge, and I’m so glad to see more small businesses come into the area. The décor looks like what you would think of a typical café, but with a rustic twist befitting an establishment based in Hunterdon County. The setting is very relaxing, with lots of indoor seating and a patio. We came here for brunch, and ordered the breakfast wrap, the chicken avocado wrap, and coffee. The food wasn’t heavy at all, and everything was fresh and delicious. We were served relatively quickly. The staff was very courteous. All around, a great experience!

I don’t know how someone could complain about their coffee… It is the best around. I am giving Harvest Café 5 stars because I live in the neighborhood and I am so happy to have a friendly little café to walk to with my son. I even stop by here to have coffee first if I have plans to eat somewhere else because I know I won’t be satisfied with the coffee anywhere else. It takes time to start a new business and work out all the kinks. I saw a review commenting on flies… Yeah there was a fly issue briefly in the heat of the summer, but it’s under control now that the owner is back from maternity leave. The owner is a wonderful woman who just had a baby and is very accommodating if she hears of any complaints or suggestions. I hardly trust Unilocal because you never know the context of a complaint. Sometimes people have bad days. Sometimes a staff member might be new and could benefit from constructive feedback. Harvest café actively tries to support local businesses and is involved in so many community projects that enrich the neighborhood. I would much rather see them succeed than have some awful franchise move in. GOTEAMHARVEST!

I recently moved to New Jersey, and to me, home isn’t truly home until I’ve found a place for to get my coffee fix. I’ve lived in major cities all over the country, with access to amazing coffee, so I was worried about moving to a rural area. I’m a bit of a coffee snob, so it takes a lot to impress me. After trying a few places in the area, I finally stumbled on The Harvest Café. I must say, their coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m also over the moon that they offer delicious gluten-free baked goods. Usually if I’m lucky enough to find a place that offers GF, it tastes like cardboard. But The Harvest Café GF pastries are moist and delicious(try the Morning Glory muffins). The service is friendly, and the atmosphere warm and inviting. I’ve finally found my local coffee home.

This place was just great. The espresso was delicious and the girls behind the counter were nice and helpful. and cute to boot! I ordered a fromage du jour and it took under 10 minutes to get. The service is timely and the food was darn good. The baristas make drinks and prepare food simultaneously behind the bar so you can watch them make everything, or you can claim one of the comfy couches and they will bring everything over to you. I will say that it seems like a bit of a hectic system they have behind the counter making food and drinks but somehow it works. I will be making my way back to high bridge to experience this place again and will definitely recommend to friends.

I stopped in the Harvest Inn for a Sunday afternoon lunch. I ordered a small(12 oz) mango smoothie and a chicken caesar wrap. It was quite the pricy lunch, but I was hoping the quality would make up for it. I was wrong. While the smoothie was tasty, the wrap was terribly prepared. I was operating under the assumption that being I ordered a chicken caesar wrap that chicken would be the main ingredient. Wrong again. There was barely any chicken to be found. Instead what I got was essentially a lettuce wrap. Bite after bite was a mouthful of cold lettuce. I am not a vegetarian! Bottom line not an enjoyable meal in the slightest, and terribly overpriced.

I love this place so much that I spent almost 7 hours here one day with a friend and my 4 month old and 4 year old! Breakfast and lunch were awesome… almost made it to dinner… lol! The owner is super great and was also there with her cutie pie baby and another new mommy with her baby. It felt like we were all hanging out in a really comfy living room but with tasty food and drinks you don’t have to make yourself! The bagels are delish I might add ;) The girls working that day are just the bees knees… shout out to Amanda and Destiny! Support local people!

Espresso is one of the worst I have ever had. EXTREMELY acidic and watery, which some grinds leftover in the cup(it was served in a cappuccino cup). One of the worst offenses a coffee shop can make is to not be able to produce a basic, mediocre-tasting shot of espresso; it is the building block for most coffee drinks. This, along with the fact that behind the counter was quite dirty(as well as the toilet), staff had an apathetic, aloof demeanor, and there were several flys swarming around me and my friend as we tried to stomach our drinks, are why I ranked Harvest two stars. The saving grace is the architecture and interior design of the café. Relatively spacious, comfortable dining space. Floors were somewhat sticky. Also, the price is affordable, with one espresso shot being $ 1.74(including tax). Warning: you get what you pay for! Best if you just need a space to hang out but you don’t care what your coffee tastes like.

We come here every Sunday after church and are never disappointed. The bagels are fresh, bakery goods are sweet, and anything else on the menu is sure to please. Every coffee drink or smoothy we’ve gotten has been perfect. The staff is friendly and quick to prepare your order to your specifications.

Great coffee and beautiful baristas but the veggie burger is unbelievable. Get it as a burger, a salad, or a wrap but get it! Many other great baked items and a few gluten free. Nice breakfast sandwiches too. A wonderful little gem in remote High Bridge. ELO!

I wait for the leaden Snickerdoodle Brownies to become light again, but alas… The baked goods here are cut too big and are a bit pricey(and sometimes are on the edge of stale like this Chocolate Chip Scone I have here) for the quality. If they cut the square goods in half and charged, well, half of what they get for them they might move a little more briskly. The breakfast sandwiches are OK, not great. Hey, I’m from Jersey. It takes a lot to impress me with a breakfast sandwich. If you have the time to wait for them to make you one, they’re usually a bit better than the pre mades in the hot box.

The coffee is amazing and the staff is very friendly. It’s a really beautiful space, it feels historic and it’s big with lots of tables if you want to sit and stay for a while. The baked goods are delicious. I love the scones in particular and my husband is a fan of the brownies. They also make a fudge oatmeal bar to die for. I also love how the café hosts events from time to time. It is definitely the hub of energy in High Bridge. Whenever I have friends visiting from Brooklyn or outside of the city, I always bring them to Harvest Café. I feel proud to have a place like this in my town!

This is a charming place to grab coffee– their coffee is good, the ambiance is lovely, and they even have magazines and board games for patrons to enjoy. The food was a mixed bag. The breakfast burrito was really tasty. The morning glory muffin was mediocre. The fruit smoothie was gross– it was unbearably sweet, it tasted like candy blended with ice, and we threw it out.(I asked beforehand if it was just fruit and ice with no added sugar, and they said yes. I asked again after trying the smoothie, and they said that it wasn’t actually fruit, it was concentrated fruit purée… whatever that means. Either way, it was insanely sweet and did not taste fresh like smoothies made with actual fruit.) Bottom line: I would definitely come back for coffee or tea and a breakfast burrito, I might try another pastry, and I would steer clear of the smoothies.

The harvest café is a warm and friendly, deliciously satisfying local café that I cannot say enough good things about. Simply put, Hunterdon County, NJ has few good coffee shops and this is one of the best.

Great little place to stop after our run on the Columbia Trail. Grabbed two organic smoothies and a vegan banana muffin. Yes, vegan! They had a few vegan muffin options so that was definitely a plus. Would definitely come back here to relax with a coffee.

Rarely do I leave reviews, but this place really impressed me. If you’re a coffee nut, you know freshness of the beans is everything. They are brewing some quality coffee here. Friendly staff, comfortable and inviting interior. Can’t wait to go back.

My new favorite coffee place. Each cup freshly brewed to order. I have have been here 8 – 9 times now and am now a regular devotee. The breakfast sandwiches are great, egg and cheese, pork roll egg and cheese are perfect with their fresh coffee. I’ve been there for lunch soup(tomato and basil) and a grilled cheese(cheddar) hit the spot. By the way I don’t live in High Bridge, but will travel the extra miles, because it is worth it!

We loved that the harvest café was open early on a Sunday morning as not many small cafes open up early on Sunday out in this part of New Jersey. The coffee is delicious! They make each cup by hand. The pastries were great too! The atmosphere is comfy and inviting. I loved the artwork and terrariums. I love little shops like this and am happy they opened in high bridge. We are excited to try the lunch sometime.

Maybe I’m biased because it’s in my town, or maybe because I like friendly service. Or I may be biased because the charm of the old hardwood floors and the tin ceiling tiles, but these guys know how to pull some mean coffee out of that beast sitting on the counter! Their coffee is all espresso based. No drip machines with four hour old coffee here! If you order a regular coffee and you will get an Americano pulled from a special blend of locally-roasted coffee. You can also get fancy and order from the usual selection of espresso-based drinks. You can also be weird and ask for almond«milk» instead of real milk from cows(like the good Lord intended). They offer a wide selection of wraps, sandwiches, and soups, as well as some mighty good baked treats. My daughter always looks forward to their brownies and scones, and I look forward to at least one bite from hers. I’ve been coming here regularly for about five months or so and will certainly continue to do so. Good people and excellent coffee, what else do you need?
