Had my sons baptism there in October. Food was amazing, service was great too! Everyone was great to work with from the initial booking to the end! Can’t wait for our next party there!

So I came here for a baby shower and I guess it was nice. it was tiny and the set up was confusing, but the food was tasty so I’m giving them 3 stars. When you walk in, the bar is in the dead center and you’re just like um where do I go? there was no hostess to lead me anywhere. The tables were too low for comfort and since I was at a party everything was basically serve yourself. all the drinks were on the table in pitchers, and even the entrée dinner meal I had to get up grab a plate and get a buffet style kind of meal. it was annoying, if I’m at party I still expect to be served. On the bright side, don’t valet your car as there is a tremendous amount of parking. I’ve seen so many people go to this location but I’m just not stoked about it.

This restaurant used to be great; now it seems tried and uncaring, just like our waiter who was more interested in the soccer games on the TV then us. While the dinner was very good, it took a while to be served(only 2 other table where there). Our tiramisu was still frozen when served. The owner is changing this location to catering/bar crowd and it reflects in the service. We have been dining with you since the first few months of your opening in Hicksville and have celebrated family events.

Came here for a 30th birthday party and had the best time! At first, it was a little annoying with the seating etc but this comes along with going out to dinner with 15 – 20 people… Sat down within the 45 minutes of arriving which was fine bc we wanted to grab a drink from the bar anyway… Now I don’t remember seeing a menu but everything was ordered by our friend and it all came out family style. This walnut and goat cheese or blue cheese salad with raisins… Baked clams. Calamari… Chicken parm… Chicken Marsala… Penne aka vodka… Wine on the table .and cake! $ 50pp .now I don’t think the food was amazing but it was okay. The salad was my favorite. The baked clams were good. I was surprised they were nice whole body clams with actual breadcrumbs so kudos to you mio. A little oily tho… They need to give that rubbery calamari the boot it was def a bring down… And they also brought out like this massive, unappetizing trough sized plate(it was a turn off). Penne was VERY al dente. I don’t usually eat pasta and didn’t eat much of it last night but I do know that the al dente comment was the consensus of our party. I also tasted a bite. It wasn’t terrible but ya know… Chicken parm was really good and the Marsala was just okay… Honestly the salad was the love of everyone’s life haha and the atmosphere here was Fun. The DJ was turning up some old school music that put everyone in the reminiscing mood haha like ludacris and Camrons«hey ma» does it get any better? LOL. Place was fun for the night. I would recommend. It’s not that big in here tho and there was also open bar I wanna say from 9 – 10 for ladies so that was also a plus. Come here dressed cute. Guys leave your white sneaks and tees at home … Fun for a girls or guys night out… I would go back.

What a great place! We were here for lunch, the portions were huge! Great prices. It’s also very nice to not have to look for parking, they have a nice size lot. Now the food, the food was excellent the penne Vodka with grilled chicken was very good. The service was great, they checked on us and made sure everything was ok.

One of our family favorites. Served family style, delicious food and even accommodating to my recently diagnosed kid with celiac now carrying gluten free pasta! Has become our«go to» place for family occasions! P. S. The margaritas are insane!

My husband and I went here for the first time last night for Easter dinner. We been saying we wanted to try it for a while after being refered by a co-worker,(who is now dead to me) so we called up and made an unneeded reservation. First thing I notice when I walked in, this place looks like it is owned by a young man. The large, high ceilinged room that the entrance lead me to looked like that of a poorly decorated sports bar. Immediately to the left there is a single freestanding video gambling game with a stool. Then a couple feet of halfwall, then the hostess stand, then a large opening leading into the main dining room, then the bar. I am assuming the gambling game was probably put in for a specific person or group because the positioning of it does not invite someone to play. There are framed boxing shorts hanging above the windows. The gentleman at the hostess stand put down his wine glass and called over to us «What’s up guys?» An interesting choice of words to yell to a young couple… I gave him my name and he replied«Just like gimme ten or fifteen minutes.» He walked to a table with two guests sitting at it and sat down with them. There were several empty tables, and we were on time for our reservation so I was not sure what we were waiting for but we went to the empty bar to grab a drink. The bartender was very nice but was dressed like she just rolled out of bed. Yoga pants, a black tank top and a black vellore zip up hoody. Really? On Easter? This is a restaurant where I am about to spend one hundred plus dollars for two people! Employees should not look like you just came from the gym. Our ten dollar jack and coke was served in a hard plastic cup… why? The host completely forgot about us. Another gentleman sat at the bar and overheard my husband ask me if I gave my name. He immediately got up, said something to the wine guy then rushed back to seat us. Really played that cool guy. We were seated with our yellow printer paper menus at the table closest to the kitchen and the back door. They were carrying out extra tables and chairs through the back every couple of minutes sending a cool draft blowing directly into our table. The heat was definitely pumped because it warmed up immediately after each time the door was opened. The dining room was very large with small framed mismatched«artwork» on all the walls. It had a big screen TV which maked the chandelier look VERY out of place. There was an odd constant flow or random men walking around the dining room just looking around. Some guy with sunglasses, another guy in an orange shirt, and the wine guy were awkwardly walking with purpose to an area of the dining room and then looking around like they forgot what they were doing then walking back to where ever they came from. The waiter came over immediately and greeted us. We were starving and ready to order. He seemed very nice. He had a big smile and was very friendly. We ordered mozzarella sticks the veal parmigiana and the aged steak, rare. The waiter REALLY should have told us the menu is family style. The mozzarella sticks were delivered to the table and he served them up for us. The appetizer was HUGE. We did not see our waiter for another forty-five minutes when our entrées came. In the mean time we finished out drinks from the bar and both our waters. After waiting I would estimate about twenty minutes I stacked the glasses and placed them on the end of the table. Wine guy got the message. He got up from his table cleared the glasses and sent over a server to take our drink order. Thank you wine guy. The veal parmigiana was alright. The sauce was a touch too sweet for our taste. Both of us come from Italian house holds so we often have that issue. The mozzarella cheese was slice deli cheese. I was expecting fresh mozzarella since it is an Italian restaurant. It is super simple to make and would really make a difference in this otherwise lack luster dish. My steak had great flavor and beautifully black char marks but it was incredibly over cooked… Unbelievably over cooked! It was served with a dry baked potato(no butter or sourcream) and the most sautéed onions I’ve ever seen. The onions looked roasted. They were deliciously charred around the edges and not at all overly oily. We ended with our usual double espresso and cappuccino. The coffee was very nice. The waiter brought us a hand written bill that did not itemize our drinks. It said beverage $ 22 I only ordered one glass of wine to the table. I am guessing that included our coffees. Either way I just paid the bill $ 120 for a box of frozen mozzarella sticks, veal parmigiana and an over cooked steak. I gave the server a $ 25 tip not because he earned it, but because it was Easter. The ambiance was a complete miss. The service was friendly but slow and disjointed. The food has potential to be a lot better but left us disappointed. Overall there was nothing there that I would want to go back for.

Went here last night. Baked clams were excellent. Rigatoni in Bolognese sauce was excellent. Would be 5 stars but the Chicken Parm was not great. Had a deep fried taste. Overall service was very good and I would go back.

I came here with a HUGE group of family friends a few days ago for the first time. My first impression of this restaurant was excellent. We started off with calamari and it was absolutely delicious. The servings were huge and they were definitely not sacrificing quantity for quality. The service was great as well. The servers took the big plates of calamari and went around the table to everyone and served it to us on our plates. Pretty cool. Then we had white clam pasta, some sort of seafood pasta, spinach — SO. MUCH. FOOD. Again, they did not sacrifice quality for the amount of food that was served. The dishes were well seasoned and rich in flavor. Excellent! We ordered margaritas for(most of) the ladies, beers for the men, and I was the odd ball out with my Merlot. The margaritas were great! They were pretty strong though, so you won’t have to complain about the lack of tequila. By the time we were finished with our meal, we walked outside and found that they turned the lobby into a dancefloor. They had a DJ and everything! It didn’t really look like it was for a young crowd. But while passing, it looked like everyone was having a blast. Overall, five stars. I’ll be coming back here again.

Came to Mio Posto for a Sunday dinner with my mother. It was a nice atmosphere, sleek but comfortable at the same time. A little noisy, but not a deal breaker. It was busy, but the carpeting and curtains absorbed much of the extraneous sound. The place is pretty big — a wide open space, so it doesn’t feel at all claustrophobic like some Italian restaurants can; quite the opposite, in fact. Warm bread and cooked peppers, both very tasty, met us at the table. Our appetizer of baked clams was tasty, though the clams themselves were very small. If you get the clams, make sure you order a full size; half is pretty tiny. The dinner portions on the other hand… yowzer! We got half orders of two different veal dishes and a half order of the cauliflower, and they were VERY big. A full portion is not necessary… though for only a few bucks more, you can take home enough food for at least a couple of days or so. — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - Oddly, I just now discovered this(and another) review I started many months ago and never finished. I definitely remember the meal, and everything was tasty and worthwhile. I typed«Francisco» in my original draft, and I believe that was the name of our server; if so, he was friendly and prompt, as was all of the service overall. An enjoyable eating experience.

My waiter was great, my food was A-OK, the hockey game was… Did I say hockey game? Yes, because it was on the big screen in the main dining room. The atmosphere was less than cozy. I’m not against television. Around the bar, in the smaller party room is a great idea, but it doesn’t belong in the main room like this. Let’s move on to the food, because that’s the real reason I was at Mio Posto. Keep in mind this place is family style, so it’s definitely great for groups. There is a healthy section on the menu. Please don’t cringe, because the item we ordered off there was phenomenal. The people at Mio Posto understand that healthy doesn’t mean flavorless. Out for dinner and don’t see the need for healthy? The eggplant napoleon was outrageously good. The mix of cheeses made that dish. This is a place I’m willing to return to. I would love to see what else the menu has to offer.

Came here for a party and was in the room off to the right hand side. I wanted to really like this place since I’ve heard some good things, but there really wasn’t much to be impressed with. The room was an alright size but it was freezing in there. The staff working the party were barely around let alone attentive. We finally had to flag someone down for a drink about two hours into the party. The food was definitely disappointing. There was penne dish along with a veal, chicken and sole option. Nothing was too stand out. The bread on the tables were stale and they didn’t put out any butter or olive oil. I probably wouldn’t return based on the food quality alone.

My family goes here when we’re all together, usually to celebrate something. We start with the caesar salad, fried calamari, and mozzarella sticks, all of which are amazing. Then for dinner we get the penne a la vodka, chicken francese, veal marsala, and the eggplant parmigiana. Everything is to die for, and i’m drooling thinking about it. We’ve only got dessert once and it was delicious. It was this cake covered in some sort of whipped cream. It amazing and HUGE. It’s family style so your waiter serves everyone off the huge plates of food. It’s a little fancier than your normal restaurant so we always dress up a little bit.

Family style dining with mediocre food. I was not impressed at all with this place. The servers were very slow, drinks and food took much longer than it should have. I should have known from the stale bread that this dinner was going to be disappointing. The food was way over priced for the quality. The dining room was extremely loud and everyone at the table had to scream to hear one another. Calamari was very soggy along with the baked clams. Meatballs were pretty good along with the sauce. I had fish drenched in oil, and after two bites decided not to eat anymore. The server never asked if my food was ok, only asked if I wanted it to go and I politely declined. I definitely will not be coming back.

Food is superb. Anthony, the manager is wonderful and makes everyone feel special and welcomed. We started out with the stuffed artichokes and everyone at the table loved them. We had veal franchise and eggplant parm and they were both great. Their deconstructed cannoli for desert is also a winner. Guaranteed a great meal for all.

Awhile back a Unilocal event was held here, so I had been waiting for an opportunity to visit this Italian Restaurant on Old Country Rd. housed in the former Spare Rib Building, although fully renovated since that time. Using a groupon meant it was time for a visit. We found it to be good with a few flaws. After using the valet parking, we walked in without reservations and asked for a table and were whisked inside immediately into the front room with a big screen tv on the wall. The big screen was contrasting with the white tablecloth linens. Is this a casual eatery or a dressy one? We though? A look around revealed a mixed bag, adding to the confusion. We tried to identify people in jeans. One here, one over there. We both felt a bit under-dressed. I’d recommend business casual attire. As for the food, like our surroundings had mixed results. My wife’s Shrimp Chris(Shrimp Oregenata served over risotto in a creamy tomato sauce) was amazingly delicious. My Chicken Parmesan was forgettable, ordinary. Didn’t care for the bland, tasteless sauce that lacked any garlic or basil or some kind of seasoning. I was expecting better, especially with my wife’ dish causing jealousy. The menu is also almost entirely a-la-carte. So we had to order a shared side dish of Asparagus. This also left me wishing for better… fair. My homemade Asparagus is much better. Why they don’t roast it is beyond me. It was steamed and the garlic and oil an afterthought. Not the best way to prepare this veggie. Also, because of the huge stalks, this vegetable can get woody. They should be selecting thin stalks, and Roast them at high heat with the garlic and oil, I guarantee they’ll be way better. Primarily a Family style menu so be prepared for large portions. Good place to go with groups of four or more, not the type of Italian Restaurant Billy Joel sang about.
