Applebee’s

This was our second time at this location and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The waiter NICK was pleasant and knew all the answers to our questions. Our meal was great and came out in a timely manner considering just about eveyone is off for the school break. Also the food was nice and hot and the portions were far greater then I expected. I would never have had the salad prior had I know how much food I was going to get. Seemed like a whole lot more then the first visit. That Wedge Salad is to die for though. The Chicken with Stout Gravy Mashed Garlic Potatoes and Crispy onions was wonderful and I attached a picture to show how much I actually was able to bring home. Its a whole other meal unto itself. My husband had the Steak with Garlic Shrimp and Parmasian Cheese and it also was another amazing meal. I thankfully didn’t encounter any of the problems the last reviewers did so mabe this location did some reading and improved on things. Only reason why I took away from leaving 5 stars is that the bar area was so loud that even though we were seated as far away from there in a corner it was just so loud and that was including the glass partition that seperates. Wish they could work on that otherwise another thumbs up for this location.

The 2 stars are for the fact that the exterior of the building looks nice, is kept neat and the interior feels fun and friendly.
So that’s where the happy and positive review end. The food is just blah. Good news I’ve never gotten sick afterwards. I can’t really get down on the people that work there they probably make 7.50/hour. Don’t stop here. Keep driving and throw a dart at something else.

So when people come to eat at Applebee’s that is open until 12am at 11:40pm they are told the are closed because the staff doesn’t feel like staying open. I’m sure as a retail manager myself that my employees making decisions that are going to cost my company money would not go over very well. But as far as the I don’t give a shit attitude that seems to be running rapid through this place is contagious. I stayed in the parking lot and watched 11 people get turned away before the clock struck 12am. At an average of $ 30 a table on the low side with no alcohol times 6 tables that’s $ 180 dollars times that by 7 days in a week because this is not the

Ok its Applebees… As busy as it was, I only waited 15 minutes to be seated. The table was clean and our waitress was pleasant. Our appetizers came within a reasonable time. However… my bacon cheeseburger came with no bacon… no big deal… but my daughters steak was over cooked… they took it away and served her dinner cooked as ordered. It was a shame too because my past experiences here weren’t bad at all. Applebees isn’t a four star restaurant by any means. So I gave them 3 stars. The food is ok .the prices are ok… which sums up my review… its just ok.

My husband and I came for a quick dinner — it’s just ok. I can’t see myself coming back. We used to come for the ½ price apps during happy hour or late night… but for dinner, I was pretty unimpressed. The nachos were a big sloppy too-​much-​cheese blob of salt. The tortilla soup had absolutely NO broth in it, gloppy and was way too salty too. My husband’s steak was not too bad, but kind of tough to cut, and chew. The waitress was very nice, she sympathized with my sent back soup, and agreed that much of their food was on the salty sid. Don’t get me wrong, i like a good salty treat, but enough is enough.

Ahhh applebees where the tables are sticky, utensils dirty and waitstaff are strikingly similar to those of the movie «Waiting…». Whenever I get seated the waiter/​waitress always asks us how we are and when we reciprocate the question they always say «can’t wait to leave/can’t wait for the end of my shift» hah… Everything is frozen and pre made here. And if it isn’t it sure does taste like it. Very wary of people reviewing applebees saying the food is good here. (yikes!) yeah their mozzarella sticks are good, but in a take it out of a bag stick it in the fryer good.
Applebees is convenient if you want a drink or two with friends with some apps for dirt cheap around 10pm till closing, really the only reason I come here.

I wish I could give this place negative stars if I could.
Anyways, it’s Applebee’s. There’s not much to comment on the food because I honestly think all the food tastes the same at every Applebee’s. The only difference for this establishment in Hicksville is the cleanliness and service.
Now, I really do not evaluate a place based on their décor or cleanliness, but this place was a dump. The utensils had little scraps of food on them, the plates also had little dried up pieces of lettuce, and the tables? Our party of 6 wiped down the tables again, which says a lot.
Now, I would like to think that we are very understanding people when it comes to service, but this place pretty much crossed the line in every aspect. I don’t even remember our waiters name, but he was terrible. He looked like he was new, but we believe he was trying his hand at magic, since he pretty much put on a disappearing act once he took our orders. We had other people serve our food and drinks the whole night, while he was at every other table. Not once did he refill our glasses. We had to track down other waiters/​waitresses for that.
The icing on the cake had to be when it took us 10 minutes to track him down to ask for our check, then 20 minutes to get our check. In the end, we were fed up and just walked straight up to their little kiosk registers and received/​paid for our check. By the time we had finished paying and getting the receipt, he had magically appeared from the kitchen doors and asked me if everything was alright. Magician AND a comedian!
I have never been so frustrated with a server before, but hey, I can’t always have a good experience right? I understand that being a server can be a grueling job but come on, who doesn’t have a hard time at their respective jobs? Put a smile on your face. You’d be surprised that it works wonders for a lot of your customers.
Don’t waste your time on this place. Drive further east and go to the one in Farmingdale. They have amazing service.

This place is a dump.
Service is HORRIBLE. Waitress I had tonight was so off I seriously wondered if she was on something. She would approach say «I forgot what I was going to ask you» and leave. She screwed up the check, barely checked our table, and took forever to bring the screwed up check.
I should have stayed home to watch football instead.

It really bothers me that my neighborhood Applebee’s isn’t better.
We were greater by a gentleman full of energy and my wife and I thought nice! A fun place to grab a quick bite to eat! No sooner did that thought cross our mind our opinion immediately changed! service, slow every person in the restaurant was having to find the waiter to either get their check or order additional things! The dining area was not very busy either!
Note to owner! Please get it together, you have a lot of people willing to spend a lot of money at your restaurant you just have to employ people who care and have pride in what they do!
