Good food brisket was very flavorful and tender. All the pickles and ice cream you want to eat. 13 $ for a three meat plate I dint think that was too bad. The only complaint I would have is that it’s like a fast food style place. But the food was good

L-O-V-E Dickey’s BBQ! We drive to this location from Huntersville because they have the best beef brisket around. The pulled pork is also a winner, and so is the bbq honey ham. There are plenty of sides to choose from, too. My favorites are the mac and cheese, green beans and onion tanglers. The employees are always friendly and accommodating. Make sure to leave room for a free ice cream cone(or two) before you leave. Yes they’re a little pricey compared to some other BBQ joints but the quality of the food is worth every penny.

Jumped into the car with my friend and didn’t know where to go eat. We literally drove for 10 minutes, trying to decide where we should eat. We were on LR Blvd and I realized we haven’t eaten at Dickey’s BBQ Pit in a very long time. Suddenly, I was craving BBQ. We walked inside the small restaurant and were greeted by a very cheerful man. I walked to the ordering window and I ordered the 1 meat plate(pulled pork). The cheerful man immediately asked if I wanted hushpuppies and I said yes. I mean, who can ever pass up hushpuppies? My two sides that came with the meat plate was macaroni and cheese and the potato salad. I went to the next window to pay for my meal. It was about $ 13 altogether. It was slightly expensive for a lunch, in all honesty. I grabbed the sauce that Dickey’s provides with the BBQ and went to go sit at a table. Many of the tables were not clean so we ended up sitting at a small table near the bathroom. The seating could be a lot better, but it’s a fairly small place. I should’ve taken a picture, but I was really hungry. The pulled pork was great with the sauce. It was very juicy even without the sauce, which is a plus. The hushpuppies were delish. The macaroni and cheese was the bomb. The potato salad was not something I enjoyed particularly eating. It didn’t really have a great taste. The free ice cream was a nice touch. Overall, it was great food. It just needs clean-up and better seating. :-) …I just want macaroni and cheese now.

It’s overpriced BBQ. There are so many other places to have great NCBBQ. I’ve been to the original Dickey’s in TX and was disappointed here. The portions were small and the price was high. Maybe it’s a franchise thing, but I won’t go back.

Oh my. The pulled chicken, smoked sausage and cheddar cheese sandwich was out of this world! By far my favorite barbecue place! To top it off, there’s free ice cream! I was too full, but it’s a wonderful gesture! Very pleasant employees, too!

We were passing through Hickory and stopped in for a late lunch. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The food was great. My husband had the brisket sandwich and loved it. I had the«veggie plate» which was a choice of three sides plus hush puppies. The Mac and cheese was amazing! The baked potato casserole was also delicious. And as an added bonus, it was Sunday so my kids are for free!

Dickeys BBQ has the best brisket we’ve ever eaten. Good fried okra little too salty for me but I’m sensitive to salt. Great hot spicy sauce too. I’d recommend this place. If we ever come through Hickory again we will eat here again. Found out this was a chain and they have a restaurant near us. We will go again. The lady we spoke with told me if you don’t eat salty things ask them to leave off the foofoo seasoning. Problem solved. Nice to know.

There was a college football game playing on the TV, which was placed handily in the corner near the entrance. I marveled at any restaurant that displayed a Burt Reynolds, Smokey and the Bandit poster, one of my favorite old school movies. The restaurant has a warm, inviting, cozy, wood paneled feeling. Janet/Janice, the franchise owner, came by my table to see if I needed anything. The food? In a word — excellent. The PULLEDPORKBARBECUE was tender, moist, and succulent. The multitude of sauces, from sweet to spicy, allow one to tailor the experience to ones taste buds. The BEEFBRISKET, while not quite as good as the pulled pork, was still very good and totally satisfying. The MAC ‘N CHEESE was as good as any I’ve ever eaten, outside of my mother’s efforts. The COLLARDGREENS were the real deal, and not the canned variety. The SWEETTEA was righteous. My only niggling complaint, and it really isn’t that big of a deal, is that PRICES are slightly on the expensive side. With that being said, the food QUALITY is there to justify the expense. SERVICE from the restaurant staff is excellent, professional, and responsive. It takes about ten minutes to get through the line, since one’s food is prepared freshly in front of the customer. There have always been several diners in front of me during my visits, but I’m happy to report that the line moves steadily forward. If you are passing through Hickory, and you are craving some barbecue or brisket, one could do much worse than Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. Conveniently located off Lenoir Rhyne Blvd. at exit 125. Head north and it is about a half mile up on the left hand side of the highway in a small strip mall, immediately adjacent to Texas Roadhouse. Give them a try. You won’t be sorry!

Great food and great service. A little on the expensive side for a lunch. I spend about 25 each time for 2 meals.
