Bear Meadows Grill

Called to make reservations for an 11:30 AM lunch for about 12 people. Was told they do not take reservations for «groups» before 12 noon. So we went without a reservation at 11:30 AM, as we had a meeting at 1 PM just down the street.
When members of our group arrived around 11:25, they were asked if we had a reservation. Someone from our group told the man, who apparently is the owner, that we did not, that we had been told they didn’t take reservations before noon.
When my husband and I arrived at 11:30 AM, the members of our group were walking out of the restaurant. They had been told that we could stay, but the owner said he would NOT serve us until noon. It was reported to me that he was extremely rude.
We have gone there as a group of 12 to 14 people in the evening a number of time. THIS ENCOUNTER IS THE FINAL STRAW FOR US WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT; NONE OF US WILL EVER RETURN.
THIS OWNER NEEDS TO KNOW THAT HIS RUDENESS, AND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS BEEN EXPERIENCED, HAS COST HIM CUSTOMERS WHO ARE FULL-​TIME TOWNS COUNTY RESIDENTS. WE ARE HERE IN THE WINTER WHEN THE VACATIONERS AND PART-​TIME FLORIDA RESIDENTS ARE GONE. HE ALSO COST HIS WAITRESS TIPS TODAY.
I later learned that one person in our group had in the past gotten a sandwich there made with moldy bread.
Mr. Bear Meadow, you really don’t need to move into your new, larger location. Word of mouth works two ways!

Passed by Bear Meadows so many times but took the time to stop today. Having lunch with friends and we’re all pretty picky. This place has a really diverse menu and there was something for everyone. My wife had the chef salad, my friend had a salad with a burger on top, his wife had a mahi sandwich and I had a mushroom Swiss burger. Everything was perfect!!! Salads were fresh, burgers juicy, and the mahi was moist and flavorful! Service was great. Kendal was super fun and friendly. Highly recommend Bear Meadow Grill.

For what they are, traditional American food, they are excellent. Lots of fried food, burgers and sandwiches. The hamburgers are the best around. We come here from Blairsville when we want a juicy, super flavorful burger. Karlee always takes great care of us.

The Staff was very Rude
We ask to set a a 4 table top
And the waitress said no!
She said they were having a trivia game at 7:00
And she would have to reset the table. Never mind you it was 4:45 and we were refused a bigger table. The restaurant only had 2 or 3 other quest there
Leaving ¹⁰⁄₁₂ other tables empty.
We got up to leave and told her we didn’t have to stay she said ok my husband told her that was very rude and she yells out you are the rude one. We for sure want be back and will spread the word about their rudeness to the tourist

One of the best restaurants up here in the mountains of Georgia. Whenever I meet up with my family for dinner or go from Young Harris College to spend the weekend with my family at our lake house on Chatuge this is always one of the first ideas thrown out. The food is pretty good and it’s a nice little American restaurant. I do recommend it for anyone visiting the lake or driving through who wishes to dine on burgers and sandwiches and other American food. The staff is very friendly and if you visit more than once they start to get to know you. My personal favorite is getting a burger with tater tots on the side while I catch up with family on how school is going. Too long didn’t read; Good food, great atmosphere, one of the best eating establishments up here.

Great wings, super burgers, the best prime rib on friday night. Ribs on saturday are mouthwatering. Please don’t forget the great draft beers. Service is outstanding.

Great burgers and specials. Friendly wait staff. Not a romantic restaurant, but nice laid back place to have a relaxing lunch or dinner. We’re pretty regular, mostly we eat their burgers, but will often enjoy one of their specials or a menu entrée. Service is quick and casual. Tuesday night don’t plan to eat unless you make a reservation as they are always full with the Trivia crowd.

Spicy blue cheese burger is amazing! Coldest beer in town. Wait staff is super friendly. Tuesday’s are trivia night.

The food was average in quality but the portion size was very large. The small cut crinkle fries were very good and cooked crisp just the way I like them. You will definitely not leave hungry! I enjoyed the experience overall.

All fried, kinda expensive fast food place.

Definitely the BEST restaurant in Hiawassee!
My husband and I have eaten there twice and it was absolutely delicious both times.
My only complaint would be the servings are far too large. If that can be a complaint at all!
My husband swears they have the best burgers in town and I love the strips and wings. We look forward to visiting this restaurant in the very near future!

Wonderful bleu cheese burger, very good fries, and absolutely some of the best wings («wangs,» we say) I have found in the state of GA — and I look. Match that with a helpful and diligent waitperson (I didn’t want to use the same words as Mack H.), a very clean restaurant and an immaculate restroom (old people worry about those things). You will indeed be happy. Oh… I like that the décor is NOT cutesy — just unobtrusive and inviting. Great place.
