If you’re looking for delicious Dominican food and authentic atmosphere, this is the place you’re looking for. The beer are served«senisa», that’s ice cooooold beer for those that don’t understand, lol… The seasoning is on point! Everything I’ve tasted thus far is delicious!

I was expecting so much more from this place due to their past reviews– unfortunately, it lacked in all departments. Decided to have lunch w/my husband and have him try out Mangu for the first time. We arrived, were the first ones there, quick greeting from the waitress nothing more. The service could improve a lot – we were the only ones there, yet, the girl took forever to bring drinks and take our order. We ordered the regular mangu plate and it took over 20 – 30 minutes. We were so disappointed w/the food, it was so so greasy that it was borderline inedible. DISGUSTING! Basically had a puddle of grease. I’ve had mangu many times before and have never come across one with so much grease. Keep in mind that I’m hispanic(Cuban) I’m used to being around fried food since before I could speak.

This place is a small restaurant but their foods delicious. The staff is friendly, sweet, and very helpful. Their mangu is fantastic and have it all day. I’ll definitely go again and recommend.

Sipping on a tasteless limeade, Slow service is an understatement… I ordered an entrée from the daily special, and it took them over 12 minuets to bring it. The main reason I didn’t order a la carte was because the lunch special was supposedly prepared in advance, I even saw it behind a counter display. They don’t seem to ve short staffed yet, all patrons have an «I’m hungry and tires of waiting«look on their faces. The music in this place is fitting for a party. Not an ounce of attention to ask how I’m doing. Be ready to wait if you come to this place. The food is on point, authentic Dominican cuisine they get 5 stars for that alone, but the service sucks and they’re a little bit pricy. I might eat here again, but I will order way in advance. .

I believe I can call myself an expert in Domincan food since I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. From all the different Dominican restaurants that I have tried in South Florida this one is my favorite. As soon as you walk in you hear a merengue or bachata playing in the background while lots of my compatriots are enjoying their food drinking a President(Popular Dominican beer). The restaurant is rather small, but cozy. The specials or dishes of the day are displayed outside right next to the entrance door and on a wall inside. In addition, the servers usually a let you know what the special of the day is. The specials are usually special dishes that are not on the regular menu like pollo guisado(Dominican braised chicken), bacalao guisado(codfish Dominican style), mondongo(tripes), asopao(meat and rice pottage), and many others. Some of the popular items from the regular menu are the mangu, mofongo, fried fish, tostones(fried plantains), etc. Most of the time I order the same thing. White rice, green peas with coconut, and fried chicken chunks. I love, love, love the green peas and coconut. It is so good that it almost tastes like the ones my mom cooks so I always get it every time they have it on the special menu. My second favorite item from the menu is the mangu(mashed plantains) fried cheese, salami, and eggs. This is a very popular Dominican breakfast or any time meal to be honest. They sell Dominican sodas from the brand Country Club in all 3 flavors: merengue(A little similar to champagne soda), frambuesa(Raspberry), uva(Grape). Presidente and other types of beers and wine are sold as well. However, the best drink of them all is the Morrir Soñando(To die dreaming). The morrir soñando is a milk and orange juice drink which has a tricky way that it has to be prepared, but they actually make it really good at Mangu. It might sound like a weird combination, but trust me, it is delicious. The service is great. The servers are very attentive and answer any questions you have about the food. Something that I like about this restaurant is that sometimes the main chef and owner takes the time to walk around and greet the customers that are in the restaurant. The prices are not the cheapest, but it is affordable. The servings are big and one order can usually be shared between two people. If you are planning on going on a Saturday be ready to wait a little longer since it is the busiest day. Overall this is a great place to get good Dominican food.

I frequent this place. But this past Saturday they missed the mark. We ordered a churrasco, and what we were served was a palomilla possibly cubed steak. Not a good move on the chefs part.

I’m Dominican and I haven’t found a good Dominican restaurant in a long time! But this spot? It blew my mind out of the water. my expectations were high and it completely exceeded them. The wait time for the food was quick, appetizers came first(just like I like em’) & then the dinner. I had mofongo w/fried pork pieces. The pork was tender, juicy, and flavorful. the mofongo was just right — not too much garlic, and not that tender. delicious ! My boyfriend got the mofongo with pieces of chicken mixed inside and a side of fried chicken strips(small pieces) amazing! The chicken was tender and flavorful too. We also ordered quipe as an appetizer. I loooooove quipe and this is the best quipe I’ve had so far!(Other than my grandmas LOL) The total came out to $ 27 bucks. Not bad at all, $ 13 each for dinner! I would definitely come back here :-)

An awesome place to eat when you miss the flavors from Domonican Republic. The chef takes pride in his daily creations and the staff compliments his efforts. I enjoyed every bit of the experience. Looking forward to my next visit.

I love this Restaurant. For the past 4 years it has just got better. I always order the Mangu, it is just perfect, in flavor, texture and portion wise. I usually order fish, Salmon, Cherna or what ever fresh fish they have. Their arroz is good, tostones are always made to order. The service is always excellent, friendly, they treat you like family. If you are in Miami and want to eat real and home made food, this is your place to go. Jose is the owner, he is so humble and always stop by to check on you. This is a family owned and run restaurant. If you have room for dessert, their dominican cake is great as well.

My boyfriend brought me here for the first time ranting and raving that they had the best mangu he has ever had. I had never had it before so didn’t really have anything to compare it too. All I can say is I am addicted! The mangu, the salami, the fried cheese! I sometimes don’t order the eggs so I can get extra salami and fried cheese so I can have a bit for every fork full of mangu! I haven’t had the pleasure of trying all the other items on the menu, although I can’t wait to see what other delights they have!

My husband and I had mangu catered for our Christmas breakfast last year. On top of being charged a ridiculous $ 100, the manager was rude to us when we inquired why a tray of mangu would be so expensive. To make our experience with Mangu Café even worse, I opened the tray of mangu when i got home, to make sure it was good for our 40 guests, it smelled like it was about to spoil!!! Needless to say, our guests didn’t come near the mangu and I had to toss the entire thing out! It was completely embarrassing. Will never go or order anything from Mangu Café! Advice: smell and taste any catering from Mangu Café before you leave the restaurant.

If you love Dominican food, this is the place to go for an authentic meal! You’d think the place was horrible considering it is in a shopping center, parallel to the Palghetto in Hialeah. Nonsense! Food is delish — they serve large portions. I always take doggie bags home. Service is awesome… we are welcomed with hugs, kisses and sweetness every time we set foot in here. Price is not bad ATALL. For breakfast, order los 4 golpes. Who can go wrong with sausage, eggs, fried cheese and mangu for breakfast? Merengue soda is also a much needed sugar high. It’s the Jupina of the Dominican world. For dinner, pretty much anything is good with a side of avocado, of course. ;) They always have music playing and the ambiance is just right. I wish I can eat here more often.
