Leon Medical Center East Hialeah

Please do do not ever take anyone in your family to any Leon Medical Facility. The Doctor’s are incompetent and negligent. For the day to day check ups they are great, but if the illness is of a higher degree such as heart disease, cancer, etc they do not have the resources nor the specialists within their network to support the patient. My mother was misdiagnosed several times across a 6 month period. She was first advised she had Hypoglycemia, then she was diagnosed with ulcers in the stomach and finally she was diagnosed with Pancreatitis.
Then after 6 months of follow up appointments and seeing several Leon Medical Physicians we got no where until her pain continued and I took her to Baptist where within 24 hours they diagnosed her with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and she had just a few months to live and they were shocked at the fact not one physician or healthcare professional caught that or had the medical intelligence to run the right tests to find the diagnosis.
PLEASE DO NOT EVER TAKE ANYONE YOU CARE HERE.

Both my parents and mother inlaw are Leonites, but I only handle my fathers. The service is great and when you go there they greet you with a freindly smile and seem overly helpful.
My beef is the twenty call’s aday sometimes one after the other for various issues.
If you happend to go to a visit, you will recieve a calander for your appointments, a call to see if you need transportation, a call to remind you of your appointment and the day after a call to see how it whent.
Your in trouble if you have multiple appointments on the same day, because they will call you the three times I mentioned for each appointment on the SAME day!
I had to change the primary number to my dad becuase they where driving me insane at work with these calls.
But all in all it is great place and they do try their best at taking care of our older citizens.

Exellent facility, very clean, Took my mom for blood test, it was fast and everyone is doing their job, well trained staff everyone is courteous, everyone says good morning like good old times !!!
Great HMO, The day I turn 65 this is my place for sure, already know my way around. They treat my mother with respect and dignity like a lady her age, this people have my respect 5* from me, anyone who respect the elderly has my respect and friendship 5* from me!

Unfortunately, I’ve gotten to know Leon’s stellar service under very sad circumstances. My grandfather has terminal cancer and I’ve been in and out of this place A LOT.
The first time I walked in I was in shock. Its absolutely clean and beautiful in there. Perfect tile, perfect seating. All of the employees are extremely helpful and attentive. From the doctors right down to the custodians.
All i needed were some copies of some x-​rays from a doctor. I walked up to the counter asked for a name and within seconds I had the xrays at hand. I still had to sign a release form and SECONDS after that I had those forms in my hands. Even though this place was packed I was tended to quickly. They were even kind enough to wave to fee due to my grandfathers condition. How nice is that?!
I’m ready to walk out when i see a food counter. I thought Id cough up a dollar or two and buy myself some coffee. Wrong again! It was free! And oh no, you don’t walk up and get it yourself. There was a very nice lady tending to everyone there. For free! I wish there were medical centers like that for me! I’m jealous!
