i visited king café today 10÷8÷12. Its under new ownership. I had the fricase de pollo and maduros. I found it quaint with down home style cooking. Very tasty. Just like mom or grandma used to make. Large portions. Small price tag. Friendly family service. I would go again. If you like simple atmosphere and good home cooking then this is the place to eat.

I give this place a solid«Meh». This is a small hole-in-the-wall café that serves sandwiches and café. They’ve got a diner bar with about 3 seats and two tiny tables and there’s some stupid video poker machines near the door that some alcoholics were playing. Music was playing at a surprisingly non-ear-piercing level although the Cuban patrons speak at an ear-piercing level as usual. The girl behind the counter put on plastic gloves before making my food. That’s a plus. The prices are super low. $ 3.25 for a Cuban sandwich(sandwich cubano). The sandwich was a good size but made with sub-par ingredients. I don’t think I’ll ever eat there again but she didn’t mess up my café con leche. I’d only go there for a café con leche if I was desperate. They close at 6pm so it’s kinda useless.
