I usually stick to three things here: pizza, breakfast, and ice cream. Not always in that order. They actually have an app, so it’s easy to check the menu and use coupons. The upside down pizza is easily my favorite, but any veggie option I’ve tried has always been good and fresh. Ice cream is ice cream, they don’t make it there, this isn’t some artisanal ice cream place where it’s hand made in small batches. But hey, it’s a bunch of sugar and milk fat. Breakfast is good here, sometimes a little on the greasy side, but those are usually the times when some extra grease is welcome to counter the bar tab from the night before. So yeah, good hangover breakfast. The parking lot is small and is close to an intersection so things can get congested. Two things: this is Hershey, traffic is never that bad, and there’s a big parking garage right across the street(which is free, again, this is Hershey). If parking lots in general confuse you then perhaps take an Über or get delivery.

I love this little local place! The pizza is really good but their truely little known gem is their breakfast menu. Their coffee and espresso are delicious and their menu for breakfast is innovative and delicious. All for a price you can’t beat!

Staff that actually cares about their customers… and tasty food. On February 7, 2015, I wrote this review: My husband and I ate at Phillip Arthur’s today for the first time, on the recommendation of the local hospital staff. My husband just got out of the hospital from having a bone marrow transplant, and this was his first meal out of the house or hospital in about 3 weeks. He was really craving a cheesesteak, but he changed his mind when he saw they had French Dip sandwiches. He said it was the best French dip sandwich he has ever had… hands down.(I only got a bite… but it was delicious). The bread was fresh, and toasted perfectly… the beef tasted fresh, and the French fries he ordered were crispy, as requested. I had a spinach, pear and Gorgonzola salad, with added grilled chicken. It was very tasty, and the balsamic dressing I picked made it even better. The chicken was cooked properly and not dry. Then we considered dessert. Getting an ice cream cone would have been nice. but the cones are kept in the open(as they are in any normal ice cream shop). With husband’s compromised immune system, I asked the manager Pat if we could get a cone right out of the box that hadn’t been left out. Not only did we get a fresh cone. but Pat carefully hand washed two metal spoons and a bowl, to make sure they were extra clean and as safe as possible… I ended up with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream in the bowl, with the cone on the side, so we could split it.(cone and half ice cream for one of us, remainder of the ice cream for the other). The ice cream was delicious. and then Pat informed me he took care of the cost of the ice cream. My husband had stepped away from the table at that moment… and when he came back, I told him what Pat did… and my husband was moved to tears. The past few months since the cancer diagnosis have been so challenging for both of us. but little gestures of kindness from strangers really has helped us make it through. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Best described as an «upscale» snack bar, Arthur’s offers a menu of sandwiches, salads, and pizza to be followed by ice cream for dessert. The food was decent, and the ice cream was good, but we couldn’t help but notice the competency of the staff… A handful of teenagers clowning around, trying to take orders, not knowing how to work the register, holding conversations across the restaurant, and emanating a haphazard aura. If it wasn’t for the one guy working the grill, I don’t think we would have made it through our meal. He swooped in at the counter to take our order, swooped in at the grill to fix our food, and saved us from dehydration by serving us water –all while giving direction to the other fellas. Kudos to him. Couldn’t have been that bad right? Well, who at an ice cream parlor doesn’t know how to make a banana split? How many teens does it take to fill a cup with water? And how many sodas do you need to fill a row of 7? Now, it could have been a bunch of summer hires that won’t be there next year, but such disorganization is very unappealing. I don’t care about«the party this weekend» and I don’t want to hear you yelling across the restaurant to your coworkers about it. *The parking lot and confusion isn’t worth the hassle. I’ll go to Grille and Chill.*

Love this place for lunch during the week. The staff is fabulous and the food is great. Plus, you can satisfy that afternoon sweet tooth with their wide variety of ice cream!

Unfortunately the past two times I went, the place was rather dirty. The pizza this time was not nearly the quality it should be, or was prior anyway. The pizza crust tasted stale. It seems like the staff made a cheese pizza earlier that had been sitting there and just added toppings when we bought it. Don’t get why that would be the case when the place is empty and we bought a larger pizza. Bottom was soggy too. Last time, I asked for a box to put our left over pizza in and they gave me a dirty box! Clearly there had been another pizza in it as it was full of crumbs and oil. Disappointing. Hope they get on top of this because we drive from far away to come here. Please stay on top of your staff because quality is slipping.

Awful service. The staff were confused and were arguing in front of us. It took nearly 30 minutes for our food to be prepared. They supposedly had fresh dough. The pizza was terrible. It was so soggy. The subs and wraps were so so. Very disappointing experience.

So the food might be good but we will never know. We read the reviews and walked over from the Hershey story. Came in on a Saturday night and there were a few people siting. We walk in went to the order counter and waiting as one employee say 8 feet away wrapping silverware. And as two others stood 3 feet away talking to a drink vendor. We waited. We waited. We then noticed we had been waiting. My daughter(10) was like. Yo what’s up. Still they stayed in their talk. Literally 10mins in and we said let’s leave. So we did. Drove to the soda jerk. Got great ice cream with a cool patio. Just saying.

Called for a Pizza to be delivered a few blocks up the street. Half pepperoni half sausage. He said 20 – 25 min. An hour later I had to call them to see what happened. They were«just leaving with it right now». I said if the pizza has been sitting at their restaurant for the past 30 minutes cooked, don’t bring it. He said it just came out of the oven. They lied. The pizza was cold and old when it arrived an hour and 15 min after I ordered and the toppings were wrong to boot. Might have been good pizza, we will never know. Not ordering from them again.

Great food with very reasonable price. AC is not really working well though. In fact it’s within walking distance from the entrance of Hershey Park(less than 10 min).

At 12:45 on a Wednesday in July, they were sorely understaffed for the lunch crowd. We came in before several groups(which seemed to descend all at once), yet still had to wait several minutes for someone to «notice» us standing at the register and take our order. And by «notice» I mean, stop averting his gaze and pretending not to see us every time he walked by.(Was it that difficult to say«Be right with you?» Or was he simply too honest to?) The same person was telling the cooks(the grill is just on the other side of the counter) what not to do so maybe they were training new people that day or something. Other than the manager/order-taker ignoring us until he was good and ready to acknowledge us, the staff(him included) was pleasant. The food was good, nothing special(we had burgers, sandwiches, fries, salads).

We visited in our way through PA. We wanted Hershey ice cream in Hershey! We called and they have it. We ordered a turkey, apple and Brie sandwich. Tasty but took over 10 minutes to make, even after the ice team was dished and delivered. Ice cream portions large for 2 scoops. They charge extra for the hot fudge on a sundae. Kinda weird. The sundae only comes w ice cream, whipped cream and a cherry. Good ice cream. Nice little shop inside with some tables. Store is tucked in off the Main Street. Very little parking. Love the Hershey kiss street lights outside. Overall decent experience.

This is a great place to just grab a light snack or to go for a sit down meal. The menu offers a varied selection of amazingly tasty salads, wraps, paninis, pizzas, and subs as well as speciality coffees and drinks. It’s also apparently well known for the incredible selection of ice creams on offer though we didn’t go down that route. We bought a selection of wraps and salads that were prepared while we waited. You could tell that the ingredients were fresh and of a good quality. This is definitely reflected in the taste. The jewel in the crown though is the service. Our servers, Pat and Stacey, were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to make us feel more welcome. I have to commend them both on their good humour. We’ll definitely visit here again the next time we’re in Hershey. Highly recommended.

Great portions, fast service, great prices. The prices were great and the cashier and staff was friendly. Owner was there too. My only concern was that no one was wearing a hairnet. Lucky we didn’t get any extra toppings in our food. We got the Philly Classic and Pittsburgh Steak Salad, they were good just needed a little more flavor.

Awesome sundae selection for a great price– both the kids and I loved it. The pizza and subs were good, I had the feeling the two workers there were kind of rushed. You’re better off walking if you can, as others said the parking lot is a tiny challenge — not that it’s their fault. I would definitely come back when visiting Hershey

Very cute café! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only complaint was the peppermint latte I ordered wasn’t stirred when made so the syrup was trapped at the bottom. Next time I hope to try some of their specialty ice cream treats– they seemed to have a good selection.

Lets start with the service. Fast and extremely welcoming. I felt like I had been using this place everyday for lunch for years, the first day I walked in. The value! Extremely good prices on all of the massive dishes they create. Well below market average. The food… oh my… Best Philly Cheese steak sandwich. Yes better than what I have had at the multiple places I have tried in Philadelphia. True the bread is shipped over from Philly each morning so I guess that could account for some. The breakfast is enough for the biggest appetites and the thinnest wallets! If you are anywhere near give this place a try! Oh they also have a full ice cream parlor and pizzeria.

Every once in a while, every Unilocalers pursuit of the perfect hole in the wall place that no one would expect to go to comes to wonderful fruition. I had just such an experience at Phillip Arthur this weekend. I was at a soccer tournament and happened to overhear a conversation a local was having where they were extolling the virtues of «the best chicken parm sandwich I ever had.» «The best … I ever had» to any true Unilocaler is like lighting a candle in front of a moth. I didn’t care that my son was playing in just 30 short minutes, my brain took over and said«Must. Get. Chicken. Parm.» Luckily, this joint was only 3 minutes away right on Chocolate Avenue in the heart of downtown Hershey. It is set back from the road with a small parking lot — blink and you will miss it. Evidently, it is owned by the same folks who own the Italian restaurant next door. The signage is small, but is mostly dedicated to the ice cream shoppe part of the business — don’t be fooled. I went in and there is a huge chalk board menu with all sorts of delicious looking specialty sandwichs, paninis, and pizza/stromboli. Although I did not have a slice, the pizza look legit too. I grabbed my chicken parm and headed back to the fields. As I unwrapped my 12 inches of deliciousness, you could see the jealousy on the faces of the other parents. Let me tell ya, my eavesdropping skills were on point on this day. A wonderfully chewy roll(imported from Philly), a thick, pasty sauce that clung to the chicken, herby and crunchy chicken all combined to create an awesome experience. The cheese was good, but, if I were to be nitpicky, would be the only area that could be elevated a smidge. Ohh … and I forgot the most incredible part. This heavenly creation set me back a grand total of $ 6.50 — WHAT??? $ 6.50 will get you a dixie cup of water inside Hersheypark across the street. So, do yourself a favor, and make the kids starve while you are inside the park, but promise them awesome on a roll when you get out and come over to Phillip Arthur!
