This tropical smoothie is by far the worse one in the Fairfax county area. My smoothies taste like crap each time I visit this location. You can still see the ingredients when they hand you your smoothie on top of the fact that the ice cubes are not fully blended into the drink so that it is a smoothie and not cubes of ice with whey powder still on top.

I will come here When I forget to pack lunch at work. It is really affordable and I love that you get a decent amount of food for what you pay for. I normally get the half smoothie half salad deal. my favorite smoothie is the detox island green, which comes with kale, banana, ginger, and pineapple. I think more goes into it but I can’t remember. All I know is that you get a huge smoothie and the whole thing is under 200 calories. I also get the loaded spinach salad and add kale slaw on top. The kale slaw adds more substance to the salad and it is satiating for the rest of the day. The spinach salad by itself is pretty bland. I’m not sure about whether or not their food is organic, but it’s a huge step of you normally have greasy food. I haven’t gotten the 2pm slumps after Eating here, but I don’t get anything that contains wheat or processed food either. They do definitely have less healthy options and just because you are drinking a smoothie doesn’t mean it is healthy(some of the smoothies might as well be milkshakes), but at least there is an option between the two. If your looking for a healthier lunch option at an affordable price, I would recommend tropical smoothie.

This location has gone downhill over the past year. It was awesome before when the franchise owner was always taking the orders and making sure that things ran smoothly, but I’ve never received a meal/drink exactly as I’ve requested since the younger dude with the brown hair and glasses started manning the register(sorry, but his name escapes me at the moment). I’m not a difficult person; Holding the ranch on my buffalo chicken wrap because I dislike it and subbing out the bananas from smoothies(because I’m allergic) shouldn’t be a difficult thing to accomplish. There are better locations; unfortunately, this is the closest one to me.

My wife and I traveled to OBX recently and while we were there, we decided to try out Tropical Smoothie and it was delicious. The chicken salad sandwich was nice and toasty. The Jamaican Jerk wrap was excellent as well. The wrap was nicely wrapped so nothing would fall out easily. The spiciness of the wrap had a good kick to it if you’re into spicy foods. The chicken salad sandwich was by far our favorite from the items we got from there. The smoothies were really good as well. The food experience at our local Tropical Smoothie Café is the exact opposite compared to the OBX locations. Mind you, I came on an empty stomach and I couldn’t even finish my food. It was that bad. And I always finish everything I eat! The chicken salad sandwich was all bread and barely any meat at all. The food was really bad. I only gave it two stars because the smoothies were on point. If you go here, just come for the smoothies not the food!

I started going here for their breakfast wraps or grabbing a morning smoothie. I now have realized its great anytime of the day, breakfast, lunch or dinner. I tend to stick to the same items(don’t fix what’s not broken). The staff is great, quick and polite… whether it’s packed or empty they always act professional making the orders quickly. This tropical smoothie location has officially won me as a regular.

I go to Tropical smoothie at least once a week. I don’t usually go to this location, but the last time i did it was the worst experience ever. No line… and it took 15 minutes for my sandwich to be ready, WHICH was cold when I received it. They had to redo my smoothie 3 times and kept telling me I was being picky and had to pay extra to sub yogurt for water in the smoothie. At the end my smoothie was still not how I get it at the Centreville location(best location), and she said«well I don’t know what to tell you.» Definitely wouldn’t recommend this location, but I had to stop there because it was more convenient for me that specific day.

Same great smoothies and sandwiches and wraps. Service isn’t as fast or efficient as the other locations I’ve been too. That’s only my opinion as I still love tropical smoothie café. This location is on the way to Reston so I’ll still continue to frequent here whenever I’m in the mood for a peaches n silk smoothie or their turkey bacon ranch sandwich. They need to do a better job during bad weather. That’s my only complaint for this place.

Great smoothies and awesome service. The staff is always speedy and friendly. I often stop in to grab a smoothie for lunch. The designated parking spaces make getting in and out a breeze. Highly recommend.

Working in Herndon, VA means there are a few choices to get your morning smoothie at. The main reason I keep coming back is by far the service! The manager or owner of the location is very friendly and all the staff makes an effort to remember the regulars name & order. Great service & delicious smoothies :) Always a bright way to start your AM!

A nice alternative to Roebek’s and certainly easier to get in and out of(especially if you are on that side of town and can avoid the Elden Street chaos). Smoothies are 24 oz. and a tiche pricey at $ 4.29 each. My favorite is the Blimey Limey — strawberries, pineapple, orange and lime. It’s one of the few without banana or mango. I’ve not added one of the supplements, but they offer lots of options. Go early in the morning and treat yourself to a Salsa Sunrise breakfast wrap — eggs, bacon, ham, cheese and salsa. It’s filling! The service here isn’t fast, but it’s not slow either. The owner is kind and is usually working with the staff to take and fill orders.

As Robert M. tipped 6 months ago, they do not participate in Corporate offers. Went in to redeem a free smoothie from a promo, but they told me they don’t accept offers of any sort. Stricter than other Tropical Smoothies in the area; Reston and Ashburn always honor the promos. They let me redeem it here this one time as an exception.

I am truly loving my morning smoothies! I love breakfast food… just not first thing in the morning. But I need something to get me going and I highly prefer that its something healthy. For the Lenten season this year I decided to fast until 12noon everyday… nothing but liquids after dinner the previous evening. Prior to this, I frequented Robeks. However, TSC was on my way to work and had pretty decent reviews. Fast Forward three months later… I am continuing to do my smoothies on a daily basis whether from TSC or homemade, dropped 18 pounds and loving it! If you purchase their ginormous insulated cup you will receive 50cents off of each smoothie! For $ 3, it is definitely worth the investment. Also, the smoothies are all one size here so if you are like me, plan to freeze the other part for the next day… just dont freeze the ones with banana… they look gross the next day :) I fully recommend TSC and in particular this location. The owner is always onsite and truly is passionate about his business. All in all, quick, accurate and pleasant service here and my health appreciates it!

I love tropical smoothie! I didn’t know this place originated here in the East coast. I was afraid departing from AZ there wouldn’t be a tropical smoothie. In season is the Green Tea/Lemon. I like mine w/no sugar so I think it’s perfect for me. I love all the flavors and keeps me full until noon. It’s on my way to taking the shuttle into DC or if I choose to go to Ashburn I also can stop at that location. Love the supplements, always a friendly vibe and the kids love it.

Its been a while since I was at a Tropical Smoothie location. I actually came across this one while I was running errands in the area. While the line was pretty long when I got there it didn’t take too long everyone ahead of me to get waited on. I ordered the peanut butter and banana smoothie and it was really good and made very quickly. The inside of the location appeared very clean and I did not see any real issues with anything. Definitely deserves a return trip the next time I’m in the area

I’m a fan of Tropical Smoothie in general, but this location especially. The staff are always super friendly, efficient and provide quick service. Since I’m usually in a hurry to grab lunch before heading back to work, this is a major plus. The food and smoothies are pretty tasty. I have some favorites that I tend to stick to: Chicken Ceasar Salad and the Blimey Limey(sub Splenda). The chicken isn’t the fake-tasting variety like at fast food restaurants. Both are filling and enjoyable without leaving you feeling bloated or overly full. I also like the fact that the smoothies here can last you for hours(if you like to sip rather than headache-inducing chugs) without melting! More bang for my buck. The establishment itself is kept very clean and orderly. I’m a fan of this.

Overall rating is more like 3.5 stars. I don’t have any major issues with this particular tropical smoothie besides that when packed during lunch it can take a while to receive your complete order. Also entering, exiting, and parking in this parking lot can be a bit painful but not bad if you have patience. I’ve ordered the flat breads and wraps and honestly, they aren’t anything mind blowing but they do get the job done. The reason for the .5 star boost is because, I absolutely enjoy their smoothies. My favorites are«Sunrise Sunset» and most recently discovered«Bahama Mama». Just a heads up you would think that tropical smoothie is healthy to eat but think again if you take sometime and do some nutritional checking on the tropical smoothie website you would discover that it isn’t as healthy as you may think. I do know if you ask for your smoothie with no sugar(Which is what I typically do now) you will be able to knock off about 100+ calories on your meal. In the end I think this tropical smoothie is a must visit if you have the time and feeling smoothie-ish(I know it isn’t a word but sounds good). Last but not least, for all my health conscious folks if you plan on going to tropical smoothie don’t be fooled by the looks of the foods and smoothies because they can pack on the carbs., calories, and sugars. I say if you’re really serious about eating healthy then you can always get a salad(Which tropical smoothie does offer) and get a smoothie with no sugar and I don’t feel it will do much damage from a health stand point. Then again you can eat whatever you like but you will have to workout that much harder.

3.5 Stars. Decent food, better smoothies. This place is in my rotation for lunch time options. I usually go for a flatbread $ 3.99, and add any smoothie for an additional $ 3. I like this option cause it saves you a little bit off the smoothie. The flatbreads are decent, and I switch it up between the chicken pesto, baja, chipotle club and the Caribbean luau. The food is really a side note in my mind and I could be completely content with just a smoothie for lunch. Before I begin talking about the smoothies let me begin by saying that I, like many others have fallen into the allusion that these smoothies are«healthy» for you! I feel like they can be, but only if you ask for no sugar! Some nutrition checking on my part revealed that they put on average an additional 40g of turbinado sugar into each drink. That’s on top of what sugars are already in other ingredients. Now to the smoothies, my favorites are: Health Nut — nutty fruity flavor that is very filling with the added whey or soy protein. Pomegranate Plunge — good tartness from the pomegranate and cranberries. Mango Magic — mango lovers rejoice. Sunny Day — the kiwi gives it a little something different. All the other smoothies I’ve tried have been pretty good as well, I just avoid anything with goji or acai due to personal preferences.

I’d gotten coupons from them in the past, but my punchcard & travel cup discount at Robeks had kept me a loyal customer. When I randomly read the business name out loud to Greg, he practically swerved off the road in the rain to make the turn. I had to try one of their smoothies to test his enthusiasm. Lots of booth and table seating, generic décor, pretty friendly service. Bus your own trash, thanks. Gets pretty busy during the weekday lunch hour, but the line gets processed much quicker than items are prepared. Equipment is in the back, but there’s a fair amount of visibility. Blonde behind the register is definitely easy on the eyes. The menu’s extensive enough that I was still skimming the options long after we’d placed our order. He went with an Island Combo of his usual modified Get Up and Goji, and I opted to try a Sunny Day. Our names were called after 5 minutes or so when our smoothies emerged in the queue. Ingredients were fairly evenly distributed and it was slow to melt. The bananas used were decently ripe, so any chalkiness that might’ve remained was cut by the kiwis. Mango and orange elements definitely perked me right up. Chicken soup had an extremely salty broth, but at least the noodles weren’t criminally overcooked. Even so, I won’t be getting this soup when I come back. Three and a half stars. If we had forgone the chicken noodle soup, it would be a pretty easy four. Either way, I’ll be happy to let my friend drag me back here since it’s well within walking distance. I’m particularly interested to see how Tropi-colada ranks against its Robeks doppelgänger, but honestly the fresh fruit combos all sound pretty tasty. Having less frills than my favorite Robeks/JJ smoothie bars isn’t a bad thing.
