Awful awful awful! Thursday was my last time at «Dr». Imam’s office. I’ve been going to her about a year now. She recommended me for gastric bypass surgery and to see a psychiatrist. I did both. Recently I had a blood clot in my arm. I went to ER. They told me to follow up with Primary. Did that Thursday. Since this was the first time I had seen her since my life changing surgery I had a couple of concerns. Especially about my blood clot. I had expressed to her that I didn’t think my body was absorbing my meds that my psychiatrist prescribed me.(All of the issues I was having just started that week). She questioned me about my blood clot. Asked me if I had the form the ER gave me. I told her no. She told me that the lump on my leg was not a concern because it had been there for over a year? ?? She asked me if I was seeing a psychiatrist *when she recommended me to one. She said«well have you talked to them»? I said no, you’re my primary and I just started this feeling this week. I already had an appt with Dr. Imam so I figured she could help. Wrong. She says to me, the weight you lost from surgery, is it on track? I said yes. She says well have you talked to your surgeon about your blood clot? No, that’s why I am here. ER told me to follow up with you. She says well you need to call and get the medical record. I want to take your blood and wait here until we receive the medical record. So I had my blood taken and called and asked for ER to fax record. 20 min later Dr. Imam says we haven’t received anything… I said ok what do you want me to do(meanwhile my blood clot that I was in the ER for had turned into 2 lumps and still hurt) she says you need to drive to the ER(40 min drive both ways) and get paperwork. I flipped. I told her that she was a horrible Dr. And I could not believe that she was sending me away with a blood clot in my arm. An hr later she received my paperwork and left me a VM says you need to go see a specialist. Really??? You don’t say! Not to mention she’s very judgmental and really doesn’t take time to get to know her patients. Acts like she doesn’t really care. Never again.

Well. Yesterday was the last time I will ever take my daughter to see Dr. Imam. She told me the herpes simplex 1 virus is not contagious… «HSV-1 can also be spread by sharing a cup, eating utensils, or lip balm or lipstick with someone who has it. In addition, if you or your partner gets cold sores on the mouth, the herpes simplex virus-1 can be transmitted during oral sex and cause herpes in the genital area.» You can find that fun fact over and over again all over the web and medical books, it even says it on Abreva’s website. The fact that a medical professional just told me that herpes is not contagious STILL has me dumbfounded. Took my daughter to a new Dr this morning who diagnosed her with herpes simples 1– not the«ear infection» Dr. Imam said she had. By the way– new dr said my daughter doesn’t have an ear infection.

Superb doctor in the northern Virginia area! My family and I have been with her for years and she is one of the best. You can tell she is an experienced and efficient physician. She was very caring and pleasant to interact with and does not waste your time. The office staff was also very pleasant and helpful as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Imam to anyone needing a good doctor. Last time I went I saw her office was recently renovated too!
