Attending a funeral mid-week and the only place we could find. For $ 170 we were a bit disappointed. First we were put in a room with 1 queen bed and the room and bathroom were so small we couldn’t turn around. We’ve been married 40 years and we can’t sleep together in a queen bed together anymore. We went back to the desk and requested a switch… which they did… put us in a king, a larger room but still tiny bathroom. This hotel is definitely showing it’s age, low ceilings, dark, bathtub chipped, sheets pilled. Location was good that’s about all the positive I can say. I always thought I could rely on Holiday Inn Express for good rooms but the last few we have stayed in have not been up to par.

Back again. I’ve stayed here multiple times a year for the last few years. Great staff and Ethan always goes above and beyond for his customers!

Thanks for your response. I reiterate, your property is a good place. Very well managed and your team is friendly and professional. My criticism is meant to be constructive. I would absolutely stay again.

UPDATE: The staff here have gone out of their way to address concerns and everything in their power to improve my stay. They have checked in with me several times just to see how I’m doing and ensure there is nothing I need. The manager, Ethan, is fantastic and took time out of his busy evening to talk with me about my experience; as did the Ken the other manager by calling and making sure I am doing well. From the start of my trip I was skeptical of this place after starting off on the wrong foot; however, I would definitely recommend this hotel to those coming to the area as the staff are genuine and seem to really care. This has been terrible from the start. I called 30 mins ahead to say I have landed and gotten my bags and that I needed a hotel shuttle. When I got someone on the phone they told me to stand outside at 2A and so I did, 15 mins later I see the shuttle drive past me so I call the office again and they tell me oooh you are suppose to be standing under 2h. I explain to Lisa that it is pouring down raining and there are 3 of us and 5 bags and it is RAINING! She puts me on hold and calls the driver, 5 mins later she comes back and says the driver is coming back around. When the driver comes back he is clearly upset, rolls down the window and tells me to put my bags in the back and the get in and he will take me to the hotel. I open his trunk put my bags in, close the back doors and then open the side door and get it, mind you this is the hotel shuttle. I am not asking for Ritz Carlton service but can you at least open the door so my family can get in the car! I am here for two more weeks and I hope that I can update my review but as of now I have to say BEWARE, customer service is not this hotels main focus.

It was better than the alternative of sleeping in the airport. The hotel shows its old age a bit, but was comfortable enough for the nights stay. The front desk clerk was very nice and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable, which is all that really matters. Walls were a little too thin for my liking, so I turned on the AC unit to provide some other noise. But even that made a whining noise. Oh well. Breakfast was good in the morning, and was ready even earlier than advertised. The shuttle driver made an extra trip to the airport for me which was nice. Taxi/Über fare from the airport is between $ 15-$ 25. I took an Über to the hotel, but when it showed I was being picked up in a Ford F-150 for my Über ride back to the airport, I canceled and opted for the shuttle.

Had a layover for a night. The staff is great. Express hotels have free breakfast in the mornings that start at 6/7am and even though I had a really early departure time at 6am for a flight, I was able to get anything I wanted at 4am! The breakfast items were getting set up as well was the coffee. I was in for a treat! I didn’t think I was going to have anything to eat for breakfast but I was pleasantly surprised that I did. Room I stayed in was clean. Here’s something that startled me… The toilet. Yes, the toilet! When you go to flush, you will hear a high pressure gush of water. Something close to a jet propulsion. That definitely woke me up in the morning. I got a little startled but this doesn’t take away the great experience I had at this particular hotel. There is also free shuttle service to and from the airport. Other airport hotels may charge you an additional fee for transportation.

Great place to stay, even on a budget. The room was under a hundred bucks, but was immaculate and comfortable. Throw in the perks, such as the central location and the free breakfast and you have a no-brainer. But the BEST perk they have is the free shuttle service to locations within a three mile radius: this easily gets you the arts and restaurant district, so I wasn’t skimping on the cocktails because the hotel is your designated driver! I’ll definitely be back.

We had travelled from NY to visit a friend in Sterling, and found this hotel with good reviews. Was not disappointed! The reviews on the breakfast are absolutely spot on. They had good variety and everything was prepared fresh. But what really impressed me was their service. At night my wife wanted to get some bottled water. There was none in the vending machine, so the concierge at the front desk proactively approached my wife and offered to get some bottled water from a nearby store. She even dropped it back to our room. I’ve never seen any other hotel staff go out of their way to take care of their customers like that. The rest of the staff was in general friendly and always asked even in passing if we needed anything. For example, when we arrived the TV in the room wasn’t working. The technician not only replaced it but asked if we needed any housekeeping cleaning done as well. Also, when we arrived, our room(w/2 double beds) requested was not ready and would take another 30 mins we were told. We insisted for something sooner and within minutes they found something(w/a king size bed) for us! Needless to say I will recommend this spot for any friend or family visiting the area. Things nearby: We visited the National Air and Space Museum which was about 10−15mins away — worth it! Also the plaza across the street has some good Afghan food.

Had a great experience here recently. Was checking in late on a Sunday night & the woman behind the desk(didn’t get her name) was SO friendly! She joked with me and made me feel at home, actually — which can be hard to do in a hotel! I asked about the hours of the Safeway across the street & she knew the answer right away, which was so helpful(open until midnight 7 days a week!). There is also a Starbucks inside the Safeway, which was convenient. Only con I can remember is that the elevator was super warm & super slow. As a platinum member, I got 500 bonus points and to pick a snack upon arrival. Added bonus!
