Taking Express way today they had a VERY hefty toll, $ 17! Wouldn’t be as bad if we hadn’t gone as slow as the traffic NOT On the expressway/​toll road! It’s bad enough we paid for the rd they are charging us to use. They should be required to wipe out the charges when it’s no better than staying on the part of 95 that we are still allowed to use for free

To use the new ⁹⁵⁄₃₉₅ lanes, I created an account online and requested a transponder which was never sent. When I tried to log on to check the status, my account was «locked». When I called, after waiting on hold 20 minutes, they said I already had an account, which I did not. So, now after already setting up one account, I had to close it because I can’t have an account without a transponder but they never sent the transponder so I have to close that account, go out and buy a transponder and go through the whole process of opening an account all over again. Tedious. Bad customer service. Money grab.

Awesome service team! They took care of my problem quickly, pleasantly and went out of their way to make sure everything was squared away with my account. Much appreciated!

I have an ezpass account and got locked out of my online account. I cannot get unlocked until I call the 877 number whose automatic message asks for my account number, which I do not have/​cannot find.
I sent an email to the email contact with NO reply on how to recover my password or get a human person to tell me my account number.
HELP!!! CAN SOMEONE TELL ME THE NORTHERN VA CENTERS LOCAL PHONE NUMBER???
I’m so frustrated!

Updated my account and signed up for a new transponder since I’m finding myself on the toll road a lot lately. Good ol government was quick to take the deposit I made on my credit card. Yet when two days had passed and I didn’t receive my pass but rather a letter saying they needed to update my account at the end of an intense week, I wasn’t all too happy.
I called the hotline and literally spent 17 minutes listening to hold music (strike two!!)
I spoke with the rep and she quickly confirmed my information, apologized for the delay and said I should have my pass by Tuesday. Then she noticed I didn’t live too far from the Herndon branch that was closing in 45 minutes. She noted my account and said they’d have one waiting for me.
I drove over, was greeted warmly and was in and out in less than 4 minutes!
Great service and they quickly turned a tad bit annoyed customer into a very happy one! At least I know my tolls are going towards paying the salaries of some nice young ladies!

Sad to say, when I arrived, midday, couldn’t even get into the store! People were obediently lined up waiting for the one clerk working the counter. Unacceptable situation in a location set up to serve Herndon and Reston toll road commuters, longtime supporters of this pricey highway.

Went in to get some sticky thingies. Staff was friendly and no waiting.
Only problem I had was the Unilocal directions link did not work so it took awhile to find.

Was in and out today, fast, and they even hooked me up w/​a new set of sticky thingies. Thanks!

Years ago when Virginia first implemented it’s program for allowing cars to pass through toll plazas without stopping — they called them Smart Tags. These are transponders that the sensors at the toll plaza can read and then deduct from your account.
At some point — Virginia changed the name of their program to E-​Z Pass. I assume they did this for marketing purposes and to integrate with the naming convention that other states were using.
I’ve had mine for about five years now. I just recently got a new fleet vehicle for work — so I pulled the transponder out of my old car. The transponder attaches to the inside of the windshield with some adhesive strips very similar to velcro. You can’t re-​use the adhesive strips.
So this morning I stopped in to pick up a new set of adhesive strips and to update the vehicle information associated with the transponder. It took me a little longer to find the place — the old office used to be over in Reston right off the Reston Parkway — but they recently relocated the office to Herndon. I was in and out in less than a minute!
