I bought a groupon for oliovera. The reviews seemed favorable. I use lots of very good quality olive oil. The groupon was only able to be used online. they charged me $ 14 shipping for 500ml of olive oil. Im disappointed. The ship was overpriced and the olive oil was extremely overpriced. I wont purchase from them again.

I recently hosted my birthday party at the store — a tasting party! It was fabulous. Desi was fantastic and so knowledgeable. She gave a wonderful«tour» of the different oils and vinegars, prepared some salads with the products and let us try everything. My friends are still talking about what a great party it was. The products are amazing. I don’t know how I cooked without them! I will definitely be going back — and I know what I am getting for holiday gifts and stocking stuffers this year!

I like balsamic vinegar, but I’ve never been wowed by it. This all changed the other day when I entered Oliovera and sampled their thicker, richer version. It had complex flavor changes like drinking a red wine, and no bitter finish like grocery store balsamic. The infused olive oils are subtle, yet distinct. Even though I tried at least 6 flavors, I asked the favorite of my friend and connoisseur Marco Ciappelli. I concurred and bought the Basil. Combining the two makes for great bread dipping! The store’s is simple and very clean. Its zen-like presentation is the brainchild of sisters Melina and Desi Bogdanova. Besides getting hooked up with great tasting products, they also gave me knowledgeable answers to questions like«What is balsamic vinegar?» Short answer is — it’s not! It’s amaaaazing how many different types of olive oil there are out there in the world! This adorable shop offers so many kinds– I sampled the lemon, their balsamic, and their new raspberry balsamic. It’s crazy how tasty olive oil and balsamic vinegar can be when flavored with different things. My friends and I stopped in here a few days ago while trotting down Pier Avenue. My friend’s daughter is a foodie and I first heard about this place through her and her cute food blog. Megan told me which ones were her faves. The girls who work here really know their stuff. I can only imagine the great salad dressings and pasta sauces one can make with the oils from here. The bottles could make great gifts too– it’s about $ 15 for a regular-sized bottle. I thought it was a little hefty, but I was informed that really good olive oil could go up to $ 30. I can’t wait to stop in here again, and actually purchase something this time!

The girls who who run this joint really know there stuff! They had a complimentary olive oil and balsamic tasting this weekend which was phenomenal. Lemon, basil, garlic, and orange infused oils — wow! It’s amazing what you can absorb from just one taste of these delicious oils and vinegars. The stuff was so good, I may never shop for oils at the supermarket again. Everyone should experience Oliovera!

Can you tell your Arbequinas from your Frantoios? If you can, then this store is for you. If you can’t, then you soon will. The nice people at Oliovera will turn you into an olive oil connoisseur. They take olive oil seriously here. The owner had me try different shots(literally…) of their organic, California-produced olive oils and I’m now convinced that you can find more flavor in a drop of olive oil than in a glass of wine. I had never seen this kind of gourmet approach to oil before. If you’re a foodie like me then you should definitely check it out(and make sure you try their 18 year old balsamico). Prices are reasonable considering that this is gourmet stuff. They have their own varieties which they sell by the bottle and you get a few bucks off refills.
