Decided to stop by since we had a BOGO coupon. Standard, but bland Mexican fare. Server was forgetful and did not know what beer he had available. Pretty sketchy. Not somewhere we will likely visit again

Average food, comes out semi warm. Servers not too interactive. Everything seems out if a can or pouch.

Yeah, it’s Cinco’s. It’s good. It does the job and the service on Saturday night at 6pm was awesome. Never felt like we had to wait for service. Had the chicken chimgonga it is was good. Can’t complain. In my opinion there are Mexican restaurants that are good and then there are bad ones. I’ve never been to a great one. Like breakfast restaurants either good or bad nothing great. I’ve been to to a few Cinco’s. They all rate then same. Some of the bad reviews crack me up. They think they are some big time food critics. Go get a life you wanna be nobody. And the reviewer(Rachel V.)who had only 30 mins for lunch go to Taco bell you jerk. Good day kids.

With 30 minutes to kill before an appointment down the street, I thought this would be a good place for quick lunch. Wrong. Left 20+ minutes later without having eaten. Neither the server or manager were apologetic. Seemed to not really care at all, actually. Oh, and my silverware pack was dropped on the floor by the man who sat me. He promptly set it on the table as I sat and walked away. They clearly train the staff very well in basic health codes. Perhaps it’s better that I wasn’t lucky enough to eat here… All that to say that I’d imagine the food is run of the mill US Mex fare. There’s one of these close to my place of work that I eat at semi-regularly.

A great neighborhood spot! The service is quick, and the food is delicious. The portion sizes are generous, and the margaritas are on-point. Not necessarily a date spot, but a safe go-to when we’re looking for something close to home.

Great place to go when you need a good and fast dinner. They are very fast and service is great. They have begun updating the building too.

This is a totally run-of-the-mill Mexican joint. You could find this kind of restaurant anywhere and you always know they’re a safe bet for decent food and large portions. Standard Mexican restaurant menu of the staples: tacos, enchiladas, salads, soups, fajitas… you name it, they have it on the menu. The food was good and the portions were huge so don’t fill up on the chips and salsa that they bring you. The salsa was not very good but there’s only a few Mexican joints that seems to make their own good salsa. Beers and margaritas are cheap and they have a full bar if you’re so inclined. I’m not sure if this is a place that locals hang out at since it’s only about 20 minutes outside of Nashville, but the place was packed when we came in around 9 p.m. on a Friday night. Seems to be a place that people around here love and since the food was good, I’d go back if I ever found myself in Hermitage again.

Definitely above average Mexican in my opinion. Great lunch specials. We have never been disappointed with food or service. We will continue to go back.

Medium level Mexican joint. Honestly, there isn’t much to say. It has the typical large Mexican menu, average or even below average quality food and decent at best margaritas. I have been twice for lunch and both times it’s been too greasy meat, half a taco filled with just lettuce and just ok salsa. There is better Mexican right up the street by the Starbucks– go there instead

Used to go here and enjoy back when the people who originally ran it were there. Now, not so much. Went there twice in the last month or so to bland-ish food, bad drinks and horrible service. We will venture to OK Corral on Lebanon Rd. for much better of all three where Cinco De Mayo fails.

So FAST! We ordered drinks and two entrees it was out and we were done with everything in 20 minutes! And it was delicious! You can’t beat a pitcher of Pacifico for 4.99! Will be back, soon! :).

We’ve been to the Cinco de Mayo in Brentwood on many occasions and had excellent experiences, so when we discovered a location 5 minutes from our house we were thrilled. We went for the first time and ended up being there 1.5 hours to have a basic meal. That was the first problem as it should not take that long. We had terrible service, having to practically harass our server to refill our waters. We were surprised they offered NO drink specials, when the other location always has some. Chips were stale, cheese dip was bland, and all of our meals were small portioned, burnt and poorly seasoned. We’d like to chalk it up to a one-time bad night, but it was such a bad experience that I’m not sure we’ll even try to give it a second chance when there’s 10 other mexican joints in the nearby area.

My husband and I ate here for dinner. He ordered the steak fajitas and I had two beef tacos and rice. The service was quick and our waitress nice and attentive. We had cheese dip which was good, but the chips tasted stale. My tacos and rice were very good, but my husband said the fajitas were so-so – the quality of the beef was not good and just not as flavorful as some other mexican restaurants we have eaten at. It comes across as somewhat dirty, but there were lots of people eating here. Honestly, I couldn’t get past the bugs… there was a small one crawling on my menu and a dead fly laying on the window ledge(we were seated at a window seat). So, that kinda put me off, I’m afraid. Probably won’t be back. I think Casa Fiesta in Antioch has better food. Our bill for 3 beef tacos, one order of rice, steak fajitas, cheese dip and one daiquiri was $ 31.

Pretty much terrible. First off, they charge for refills of chips and salsa, which is a huge negative on my Mexican food scale. Second, the service was terrible. Our waitress spoke to us exactly twice, «Are you ready to order?» and«do you want desert?» She didn’t even say anything when she dropped off the food. Southern hospitality at it’s finest. Finally, the food was bad. Tasted like everything came from a can and was poorly seasoned. Will not be going back.

I just started coming back to the Nashville area, so obviously I wanted to drop into an old favorite. It has remained the same. For good Mexican food at a decent price this is the place to go. We came on a Friday and despite it being packed and being told we had a 15 minute wait we were seated in under 10 minutes. They were quick taking my order and quick to bring it out. I had the pollo encremado(spelling?) I substituted the chicken for steak. It was delicious. Mushrooms, steak, spinach(you don’t notice it, so no worries if your not a spinach person.) They for got my tortillas so I had to ask for them. Other than that, there wasn’t a down side to the service. The salsa is spicy, but not over bearing. The chips are a bit to crunchy. The margarita was strong. :D The queso dip is about the same as anywhere else. Overall it was all good and on par. It is quite feeling so pace yourself or prepare to feel like a lard when you leave. Enjoy!

I don’t know what it is with the places I’ve chosen recently, but I’ve been wavering between 3 and 4 stars a lot. 3 says A-OK and that’s how I feel about Cinco de Mayo. My brother, boyfriend, and I went here on Saturday around 4:00 so it was pretty slow, not many people here at all. It’s definitely one of those typical Mexican type restaurants and is kinda dingy and dark, but not in a gross way. The chips and salsa were pretty dang good, liked the flavor of the salsa. It was spicy, but not too crazy. I opted for a margarita on the rocks(boyfriend got the frozen) and both were super tasty. We got the guacamole to start out and I prefer mine more chunky, but this was completely smooth. After, I noticed the menu said guacamole dip, so I forgave them. Still tasted pretty good. For the entrée, I got the Enchiladas Supreme which included 4 enchiladas: 1 bean, 1 cheese, 1 beef, and 1 chicken. All of them tasted pretty dang good, although the bean wasn’t really my favorite since it didn’t have a lot of seasoning. But the sauce that was over the top had a good flavor so that kind of made up for it. Wasn’t overly spicy either, which I can appreciate since I’m a little sensitive to that. Overall this is a pretty decent Mexican restaurant with fair prices. I think for two people after taxes(with one margarita) it was only about $ 35, so definitely not terrible at all. The service is adequate too, definitely no complaints there. If I was in the area, I would definitely stop by again!

You can tell you are at a good Mexican restaurant when they have a wait to get a table, and this has happened multiple times when I’ve eaten at Cinco De Mayo. I love this place; the salsa is spicy, the food is consistently good, AND they have delicious sangria! I’ve had a variety of dishes off the menu, and am always pleased with my meal. Ask for the hot salsa if you are a fan of heat, it will light you on fire! I’ve been here multiple times with friends and it doesn’t disappoint. The only dish I’ve ever had that was not their standard fare had a mole sauce on top that wasn’t great(it’s extremely difficult to perfect). But everything else has been excellent. They also have a lunch menu 7 days a week, something I’ve never seen before! Great job Cinco! :)

When I try a Mexican restaurant for the first time, I always read the menu first. Not only for the selections, but also on how they describe them. I shiver with fear when they use terms like«mexican red sauce» or if the slather the entrees with«cheese sauce». To me, this is clear indication that the menu has been dumbed down and not at all authentic. Cinco de Mayo showed signs of this, but I was pleased that the dishes that I sampled had great flavors, and were prepared very well. PROS: 1) Very large beers if you order the«big» size 2) The salsa very good 3) reasonable pricing 4) Extremely fast service CONS 1) It is about what I have come to expect from an Americanized Mexican restaurant 2) Chips were cut think, and weren’t fresh 3) The pepper in my Chili Rellano was flavorless
