Stayed during the week. It was very quiet and pretty. I will come to Hermann again in the future for that great wine tasting and trolley service! Pros: breakfast in bed, space, bed, location Cons: vhs player, price, adjacent bell tower is loud.

We recently stayed a night in the Garden Cottage and really liked the overall concept. The cottage is very private and almost quiet. There is a large spacious room with a big table under a window overlooking the garden courtyard, and a small flat screen TV. The king bed is very comfortable. The jacuzzi tub is fine, a good size even for two. We liked the private breakfast concept. It was nice to be in a space that is really like a spacious studio apartment, and it even includes a small frig and microwave along with the coffeemaker. It’s very clean and nicely furnished. The price for this room is fairly high, but justified considering the size and the amenities. I am going to nitpick though because of the premium price. The sheets were rough and cheap — please, get some high quality, all cotton sheets. Along the same lines, the breakfast also seemed cheap and kind of prefab, and not enough protein. The provided coffee was terrible, and there was only powdered cream. The wifi seemed to be inadequate for more than one device at a time. Noise factors overall were not bad at least early in the season. Some traffic noise from the alley right outside the room. There is a church bell much too close by that chimes every hour — can’t they shut that thing off at night? I would go back here again, but I would bring my own coffee and cream!

***Stayed here and truly had the time of my life in 24 hours.*** It was a late summer, early fall afternoon, 75 degrees and sunny. Drove out to Herman and checked in. We never saw anyone that worked there it was totally like a secret hideaway. The keys are left for you in the room and upon entering, the room was neatly decorated with old pictures, paintings, and some other trinkets. This particular reservation was made for a suite with a private entrance and the jacuzzi tub.(ahh yes the jacuzzi tub I filled with bubbles and drank wine in it!) We visited all of the wineries in Herman and the Jazz berry wine with dark chocolate(from the tiny candy shop near the only stop light in the town served up some DELICIOUS chocolate). Jazz Berry from… hmmm Adam Puchta is just awesome, fruity, sweet! It was an awesome trip. Woke up in the AM to breakfast at the door and then upon leaving dropped the keys in the box and headed East for the Lou.
