Layers Hair Salon

Nancy at Layers has been cutting my hair for years now. I’m frequently asked where I get my hair cut because she does such an outstanding job! The other staff at Layers are wonderful as well and I always enjoy my time there. Although they offer a ton of styling products, there is never any uncomfortable pressure to purchase them. I also never have trouble making an appointment on the day I want to go in. Definitely recommend!

Bethany Collier @ Layers is a genius colorist. My natural hair color is a very dark brown, and I’ve always been told by stylists that going orange based auburn was out of the question.
I visited Beth with inspiration photos and we worked together to make my vision a reality. I feel like we are constantly collaborating (does anything feel better than being –heard-​?) and she uses her expertise to make it happen.
My hair is dynamic, healthy and my current favorite physical feature. It’s celebrity level good, you guys.
I highly recommend catching Beth @ Layers while she’s still an up and comer– because one day soon, she’ll have to fit me in between Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

I called for a last minute appt, and was easily accomodated. It was especially nice that they had later hours for those of us with multiple kiddos and crazy schedules. The atmosphere is great, and Sarah my stylist did such a stellar job! I don’t always articulate or speak the stylist lingo to express what I want, but she asked all the right questions and gave me just what I was looking for. I had darkened my hair with box color, and came to her to get highlights and a trim. My hair looks the best it has in years. Thanks Sarah!

I called in for an consultation and the stylist who i got was insanely nice, chill, yet confident! For most of my life I kept my hair its natural black color but I wanted to get dyed grey for the summer. Bethany (the stylist) told a paired down version of what would she would do and also gave me a general time frame on how long it would take. So I was so convinced when she was all done talking I just asked if she was free at the moment and then she just started doing her thing
It took about two hours to get all the black out of my hair then toned to grey but she was super nice the hold time! everyone in the salon is friendly and very social! From moms, to art students… the customers were also super great! The atmosphere was so comfortable.
RESULTS: my hair ended up being this super fantastic grey color that I always wanted! There was no fuss, just get down to business. The texture is still soft and really easy to style. Lastly, they even suggested me treatments /​touch up treatments just in case the grey washes out after a couple weeks. Also, the price was a steal for the amazing service I got here. Definitely coming back the next time I’m in town! LOVE LAYERS HAIR SALON!

My sister came from out of town and has been a life long hair dresser, I said to her before she came that she just had to let Nancy do her hair while she was here and she said OK. I scheduled her a appointment with Nancy 2 weeks ahead of time. She came in on a Friday and at the last minute I called and someone else in the shop did her hair and my sister was ok no raving though. Time came for her appointment with Nancy and she went had her color and style her hair. My sister called me this morning and wanted to know if she called if they would let her talk directly to Nancy and I said sure they will I ask why and she raved about how much she liked it and even told me her husband said it really looked awesome. Nancy is one talented lady and a true color artist.

I returned to Layers just before another trip to NY… This time I got the full treatment! A brand new color and style! I made sure not to look until the absolute end of the job, but as I was getting dried and styled I got so many compliments from everyone in the salon! I was is excited to see the final product and when I did I couldn’t believe how great it looked. Once again Ms Sarah works her magic and I am ecstatic about the job!!! Amazing on every level!

What a wonderful salon. I stumbled upon it while looking for a new place to get my hair cut when I moved into the area, and fate led me to Nancy at Layers. I have been going to her exclusively for two years and she always gives me a great cut. She makes sure to listen to her client’s requests, and gives suggestions when asked. She also will walk you through the coloring process with a swatch book when you’re looking to change your hair color. Overall, the salon is very open and airy, and the staff are very friendly and polite. Highly recommended!

Love this Salon… Stylist are all friendly. Heather does my hair and is excellent on color, chemical treatments and cut/​style. I’ve recommended her to many of my firends and she also does my granddaughters hair! — highly recommend her without a doubt!

I have been going to Nancy for about 2 years. She is above and beyond excellent! She has tons of experience, is hilarious and will remember the little things about you which makes me feel like she knows me and my personality. She is great with color and has great style. I am so happy I have found a stylist who gets me!

Horrible service and horrible work! I don’t recommend it unless you go to a Master stylist which charges more and it’s still not guaranteed. My girl has been doing hair at THAT salon for over 10 yrs. When I told her what I was looking for she just nodded and disappeared for about 20 – 30 min. What is that?! I’m sure I wasnt schedule during her lunch break. I’f that’s not bad enough she doesn’t tell me what she’s doing and when I ask she just days «what you wanted» the end result was the worst highlight job. Students still in school have done better. It was sloppy and wrong. I went in to get a base color and highlights. I came out with highlights that started an inch away from my scalp and two toned color! Don’t record this shop, far better, more established ones around Richmond!

I’m a guy and I’ve been going to Layers since they first opened. Stacey has always cut my hair and trimmed my beard, and she does a terrific job. Trimming a beard takes someone who knows what they’re doing, and, believe me, Stacey knows what she is doing.

I had my haircut here about six weeks ago and was very pleased. The prices were reasonable and they are in the west end of Henrico so I don’t have to drive into town.

I’ve been going to layers for almost 10 years! The service is great and I always feel pampered. I have had cut, color, waxing and nails done at layers and have always experienced professional stylists and technicians. Thanks layers! You all are the best!
