I went There last week to get my chicken cheesesteak and you all are CLOSED! I literally only tried the chicken cheeseteak and fry but it was SO good. Sad to see this place go.

Super sorry to see them close. They had a great product, the owner and his family were wonderful people. I hope they are still in town and will make another attempt. However, there are so many restaurants in the West End now that it would be difficult to make a successful run of it!

I’m sorry to see this place close, as of November 29, 2014. Another American small family business gone. The gyro was so good I would crave them. Bummer situation.

I love love love this place! I actually worked here when I was in high school, back when it had only been open for a year or two. I’ve always loved the food, and from working there I know that it’s quality meat, produce, bread, condiments, etc. It’s also a lot cleaner than any other fast food place I’ve ever seen. I return for a gyro fix about once every two weeks. I HIGHLY recommend the fries if you think you like McDonald’s fries. Seriously, the fries are to die for because he uses fresh, hot oil and they always come out fresh. The gyros are incredible and huge, but I also love the other subs. If you like turkey, I love the turkey cheesesteak(like a steak amd cheese but made with chopped up turkey). I also LOVE their club sub. I could talk for days about how much I love the food here. Go try it yourself!

Sort of pricey as in big city prices in an old store in Richmond. They are really really cheap with tzatziki sauce. I asked for some extra sauce and the container had like 1 tablespoon or so in it. Next door is an Italian/Greek restaurant and almost across the street is another. Still the other ones probably use waitresses so you have to leave a tip which makes a gyro really over priced… The gyro was good. Don’t be so stingy with the sauce and then you are 5 stars.

So I’ve finally tried out this place today after studying in the library. First off, what a treat! I saw an old friend there and asked him what I should order. He said«I always get the original dude, its SO good». So I ordered the«Original», with no tomatoes and it was ready fast. I heard the worker in the back chopping the meat up for my order(somewhat had a rhythm to it). I will be coming back very soon! The beef and lamb were so tender, the sauce was delicious, and the pita bread was extremely soft as well. My total came to be around $ 7.64 or so which isn’t too bad since I felt full after eating it. Five Star Gyro and Subs deserves 5 stars!

So this place is the . I had ordered the original gyro and my co-workers both had chicken steak and fries. We could not stop talking about how GOOD it was! Fresh ingredients and this was the best gyro that I have had in a long time! We will be coming here more often for lunch!

I had heard great things about the food here and wanted to try them for so long. I love cheese steaks so I got the 8″ and an order of fries. The wait wasn’t long at all and a steady crowd of folks were coming in, it is lunch time. They bring your sandwich wrapped up even if you are eating in which I liked. I could have decided to take half with me and I wouldn’t have had to go to counter to ask for something to wrap it up with. The fries weren’t the best, nothing great about them. Maybe next time I will try the onion rings. The sub was seasoned well. It was tasty, not the best I’ve tasted but definitely good. It was a good lunch and I will be back to try the gyro.

The best gyro I have had in the Richmond area so far and near Broad and Parham. The prices are very reasonable and they fried the fries longer just so they would be crispy for my wife.

They gyros are really good and exactly what I was expecting. Their Italian sausage sandwich is also pretty good but I would advise that you do not get the Philly steak. Definitely not one of the better ones I have tasted.

Best gyros in town!!! Taziki is delicious. ;). I had the original gyro with feta. Feta makes it better for sure. Hubby had the onion rings and I had fries. Worth a stop through the drive through for sure!

Wow best Gyros I’ve had! The zatziki sauce was terrific. My wife and I ate there for under twenty bucks. Very good!

This is easily one of my favorite places to come for lunch when my fiancé wants a sandwich and I don’t. They have pita as an option in place of bread and I order it EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Plus they have tzatziki for both the pita gyro AND my fries. I love me some tzatziki. Their fries are yummy and every time I’ve had chicken it has been moist and delicious. My fiancé always gets a chicken cheese steak and he raves about it. This is a solid lunch spot at a really good price. You should try this place ASAP.

Food is really good but the best part here is the home made Baklava which is the best I have had in a long time! The fries are pretty standard and the entrée items are def. better than other places in the area.

After returning here a few more times, I have ordered fries and a few more gyros. Every time the meal has been delicious. The fries aren’t stellar by themselves, but they are solid thin cut fries. The gyro is the real star here and is worthy of the 5 Stars that the name entails. Maybe there are other places nearby with better gyros, but it’s convenient to me, the staff is great, and the food is delicious. Oh, and drive thru is fast too!

I must have passed this place more than 100 times and though I always was curious I never stopped by. After stopping here tonight for the first time I’m a bit sad it took me two years to try 5 Star Gyros & Subs. I decided on drive through since I’d had a long day at work. I pulled up, ordered my food and the speaker and pulled around to pay and get my food. The guy that served me at the window was very polite, asked me if I needed any ketchup. I ordered the lamb gyro and decided to make it a combo with onion rings and drink which came out to $ 11.14 total. It’s a tad pricier then I would have preferred or expected but after eating to food I can’t say the value is terrible. The gyro had feta, tomato, and tzatziki sauce. I opted for no onions and I think they left the lettuce off as well which I was fine with. The lamb was flavorful and tasty. Next time I would probably skip the tomatoes to since they a little mushy. The onion rings were really good and made with real onions. They were all crispy and didn’t get all limpy even after the drive home. The gyro burger interests me so I think I’ll need to try that next time.

I have been here before and just got the Gyro. The Gyro is good and flavorful. I recently tried the Cheese Steak with Fries. The fries are a huge letdown. They were the thin fries that only McDonalds has mastered. I was expecting more of a «fresh cut» fry, that didnt even have to be fresh cut, just that style that you get with most Gyro places. These were very budget and you dont get many. The cheese steak was good, but nothing special. It could have definitely used more onions and some peppers. And a «nothing special» sandwich with even worse fries is not worth almost $ 11. Stick with the Gyro, and skip the fries!
