As every local knows, finding a competent stylist in Southern Nevada is a crap shoot. Too many stylists just out of beauty school, working at high-​end salons charging big bucks for a hatchet job.
So when my previous (awesome) stylist finally decided it was time to be leaving Las Vegas I went 6 months before my thick, wavy hair started attracting nest-​building birds.
I made a facebook friends plea, asking if anyone had a stylist they LOVED. (Only 3 of my friends did, which tells you a lot about the state of stylists in this town — and yes, I have a decent amount of friends. Not middle-​school popular number of friends but I digress…)
I was referred to Melissa at Green Turtle so took a chance and made an appointment.
Just my luck, she’s not only competent but extremely skilled. Young enough to know all the trends but old enough to inspire confidence. And she listened and honored my request, instead of charging ahead and doing what she wanted like so many self-​absorbed stylists in this town seem to do! (And I’m sure she wanted to take more of the damaged length off and fix my at-​home color job — which she didn’t give me any grief about AND gave me some great tips to improve my box job!)
The salon is beautiful and they offer a full-​range of services at very competitive prices. The owner made a point of introducing herself and welcoming me to her salon, and the receptionist was very friendly both on the phone and in person.

Cassidy gave me the best and most precise manicure I’ve ever received. And I have been getting manicures for over 20 years every two weeks. CMON ladies, you know you feel better when your nails look right, right? Anyways she was so sweet and totally let me talk her ear off while she mended my mess mani. Alyssa the manager was also super sweet and made me feel like I had been going there for years instead of a first visit style. THANK YOU LADIES!

I went this morning to get a pedicure and it was amazing! I love the ambiance in the salon; it’s very relaxing. Lots of green which is my favorite color. The pedicure bowls are gorgeous; they look like artistic glass. While you are getting your pedicure you get a massage chair that you can control. I had Danielle and she was awesome. My rough heels have been renewed and feel soft again, she was gentle about everything and the leg massage was awesome. I love the way my nails turned out and I’m excited to show them off! Thank you!

Went to get a pedicure with my girlfriend. We decided while we were picking out our colors to get gel color. When we went up to pay, they said the gel polished cost an ADDITIONAL $ 30 for pedicure. On top of the $ 35 pedicure. That is absolutely ridiculous. I have NEVER paid that much for gel polish and I like to bounce around to different places. The ladies who did our pedicure were nice, but I feel like they should have said what the extra cost was for the gel. $ 65 for a pedicure where you don’t get a parafin wax or any type of mask on your feet or a long foot massage, not worth it.

I go to the Green Turtle about every two weeks, and this place is simply fantastic! Everyone is so friendly, the salon is extremely clean, and I always look forward to my next visit. Thank you, Kelly, Traci, and all my Green Turtle friends.

If I could have given less than 1 star I would have. The girls who work there seem pleasant enough but the owner is rude and offensive. There was a picture of a model advertising for a product called «GK». This model was emaciated and her chest was actually concave.
When I first saw the picture I was surprised and blurted out «That picture is horrible!» The stylist told me I was at least the 3^rd person to make a comment.
When I told the owner that I would not be buying any products from that supplier because of their promotion and encouragement of anorexia she acted offended.
The owner the proceeded to belittle me and basically fat shamed me because I said the girl was not healthy and that by the company using and emphasizing her skeletal frame they were encouraging the very real and deadly illness of anorexia.
I just spent $ 200 there for a hair cut and highlight and the OWNER treated me worse than I have ever been treated by another adult. I haven’t seen that level of bullying since junior high. Pathetic and despicable.
If she treats customers that way to their faces how well do you think she treats her staff?

My wife and I were in town and visiting friends in the area; we stopped in for my wife’s manicure and as a cyclist, I couldn’t resist pampering my feet with a pedicure.

Went here awhile back. Got my nails done. That same day they chipped. I was extremely disappointed because I really wanted to like this salon but I just couldn’t.

I called and got a same day appointment, which I absolutely LOVE! I happened to be paired with Hannah, who is VERY talented! I was looking for a completely new look without really knowing what I wanted to do with my hair and Hannah helped me every step of the way, while still leaving the decision up to me. Hannah will be my regular stylist if she will allow it. :) The environment is very welcoming and I will definitely be making a trip back! If you’re unsure of what salon to choose, make sure this is on your list because it is very much worth it! Not to mention very reasonable prices too!

I live in Baltimore and I love this salon, the atmosphere is so calming. I get a pedicure here whenever I’m in town which is a couple of times a year. My last visit I got my regular pedicure and threw in a massage, so glad I did. Let me just say that Richard has the best hand I’ve felt so far. I will going back in June, and will be sure to book another massage.

I got stuck with the job of coordinating a girls day, so what no-​boys-​allowed day would be complete without manicures?! Exactly. I’d driven by this place too many times to count, and figured I’d give it a try. I planned on us walking in early on a Saturday morning, but then our headcount went from 3 to 7 during breakfast.
I called the salon the minute it opened, and asked if there was any way they could accommodate. Kelly was very nice and said she only had 2 techs in, but that she would call another to come in early. We arrived as-​planned at 9:30, with the 3^rd tech already there.
Side-​note: this salon is beautiful! Not your average strip-​mall bullpen-​style salon, it is very (!) clean and has a great, natural ambiance. This isn’t something I normally care about, but it’s a nice touch. Plus, they had complimentary on-​demand coffee! No faster way to my heart than through caffeine.
For 7 girls, 2 manicures, 4 gel manicures, and 4 pedicures, we were in and out in just a few mins over 2 hours… score! Plus, the two of us who are locals (from the original 7) are now regulars. Janae is great!
Living in GVR (a mere mile east of Eastern), with oodles of strip mall salons nearby, I’m glad I stumbled upon this little gem. It’s well worth passing 4 other salons on my way there.

They make you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. Friendly smile from the front staff. They even ask you if you’d like something to drink. The owner Kelly is usually there working and assisting and she always has a great smile! Let me tell you how I found this place. I like to get regular manicures and would go to this place right near my house and the lady I would see (because I’m a creature of habit) was not very friendly and never smiled. One day after walking in and asking her how long it would be until she’s ready for me, she said with an angry voice and accent I could barely understand: «Come back later, I’m busy» Since I wasn’t able to understand her thick accent, I came closer and said, «what» and the lady she was giving a manicure to at the time basically yelled at me the same thing. Well, I had enough at that horrible atmosphere and never went back. I then was determined to find a friendly new place, so I drove down Horizon Ridge until I found the Green Turtle Salon. As soon as I walked in at the time, I was greeted by Danielle and the rest is history. I’ve been getting my manicures (and once in a while a pedicure and even a haircut) from her ever since. Danielle is amazing and I’m so happy I found this place.

Green turtle did a very nice job upon my visit there a month ago. I really enjoyed my stylist and was met with a lot of value. You can tell the owner really cares about his business and it trickles down to his employees. Great place overall

My first time there found it by driving by. Went to have my eyebrows fixed. Kelly did an amazing job she walked me through everything and made me feel so comfortable. Go check this place out you will love it. It’s very clean and everyone is so nice! !

I wanted to like this salon, really I did… But, there’s a lack of professionalism that ruins the experience. Especially in regards to scheduled appointment times and loitering staff watching television shows while waiting for walk-​ins.

The green turtle salon and spa is a fabulous place to go if you are looking to get pampered! The staff makes you feel warm and welcome the moment you walk in the door. That is something I always look for when looking for a place to relax and feel great.
