Nothing wrong with these guys service when you can get it. But how did I figure this? I was in the market for some running shoes. As I approach the store, I notice 2 things: one, a sign on their window that says 20% discount for military, and 3 employees huddled in one area who did not challenge me until I initialized contact. So, we go through the 9 yards of selling me a shoe, and when it came time to pay, I show them VAID. The clerk asked another if my ID was valid for discount. I told them I was prior service 10 yrs and served in 2 campaigns. Then they told me they would not honor my prior service. So, when this country was mobilizing for Desert Storm, the one helping me was probably in diapers, and the other was picking his nose on the playground. So, I give the business a star for showing the placard for military discount. But I will not award them any for discriminating against prior service military members. I, without discrimination, served their community and country, am now subject to their selective sales technique. They might as well put a sign that says coloreds will only be served once all whites are helped. That which I had sacrificed of my own, to protect what they strive to keep, have been denied what was already grossly over priced. I urge you the next time you shop for athletic shoes, to shop at Champs, Dicks, Foot Locker, Sports Authority, etc. Just don’t shop at Finish Line as though they may not discriminate employees, they still practice discrimination against people like me.
