Well this place can’t even put your name on the wait list. Thanks a lot Kinston. After waiting 20 min and asking why the delay, we were put on the top of the list by Vonda. Frustratingly, groups of two were being called by Kinston while we continued to wait. All of this Cracker Barrel chaos is worsened by the manager who was just seating people, messing up Kinston’s automated seating computer system. Maybe this is why my name was dropped but is of no consolation. We trusted CB to efficiently provide us with a home style meal before we returned to our travels. Instead, added time and indigestion was what we received. I’m beginning to realize that our willingness to give CB a second chance has not been deserved as we continue to be disappointed.

Last Friday, unfortunately my family wanted to eat Cracker Barrel. I figured its been awhile since i have been to this location and my experience cannot be any worse than my previous one. WRONG !!! From walking into this restaurant, i was getting the look from the host and hostess. They chatted and decided to tell us that there was a wait. The group after us got seated right away. Strange i thought until i realized later that the other group was caucasian. We did get seating after 30 minutes but it was in the corner table in the second room which just happened to have all non-whites seated and people with kids. The food was bland and non-edible. Okra was really old. Mac n cheese fell out of the bowl stuck together to form a nice volcano which my son enjoyed playing with. Does this restaurant realize that just because there are partitions between rooms, we are in 2016 and not 1960. Discrimination whether its intended or not is still here. If you or your family is of color, please tell the host and hostess here so they can appropriately seat you. And even if you dont, like me, dont worry they can help you get in the right section of the restaurant. ZEROSTARS !!! This place needs CNN or maybe the Reverend Barber can stop by here on Mondays to protest.

This has got to be one of the worst cracker barrels in all of North Carolina. They really don’t know how to cook their food and struggle to follow basic, simple recipes. The serve is decent, but the food is not. Scrambled eggs come out more like an omelet. Biscuits are sometimes hard like hockey pucks.

Thought we would run into the church crowd but was seated in 1 min and it was pretty busy. First time I have had the customer svc be swift at any Cracker Barrel. Ordered the strawberry French toast. Everything was great! Not a fan of the hash brown loaf but our waitress was wonderful w replacing it w regular hash browns.

My friends and I were coming back from a wedding in Roxboro, NC and we had decided to stop at the first Cracker Barrel we saw. We ended up pulling into Henderson around 11:45 a.m. on a Sunday. My first thought was, «Ugh, no way we get a seat with the church crowd rolling in.» I’m not sure if there is just no Sunday rush here like other locations but we were able to get our party of 5 seated immediately upon walking in with the place still looking as busy as a normal Cracker Barrel. Service was O.K. The waitress was nice enough but a little slow when it came to delivering drinks. They also ran out of small plates for biscuits so we had to use our napkins to set our bread on when we weren’t eating them. Not a huge deal, obviously. I got the chicken fried chicken for my main course. It comes topped with sawmill gravy and 3 sides. The rice pilaf was pretty pedestrian but the mac and cheese and hashbrown casserole were really well done. The chicken fried chicken was a little overcooked but still had its merits with the crispy outside and pretty solid flavor. If you’re ever in the area I wouldn’t hesitate one bit to stop in if you’re feeling some old country food.

Like all other Cracker Barrel restaurants I’ve visited, this has a dependable and nicely priced menu. Service was so-so on my visit.

It’s a relaxed environment. I wanted a simple home cooked meal but didn’t want to leave stuffed. I was traveling and didn’t want to drive full and sleepy. I had the spiced rubbed pork chop, lower calorie meal. It was juicy, tender and flavorful. Good orange sauce. Good service, it wasn’t terribly busy, so I was in and out.

I was very tired when finally stopping to get something eat during a long road trip. The service was good. The food was just okay but I think that was because I wanted to try something new and I went with the fried catfish which turned out to be just strips of catfish. They were not very good. I probably could have improved the taste if I used some hot sauce. The gift shop area already had its Halloween and Thanksgiving up :)

This is not the best Cracker Barrel. The service is poor and the food is not very good. It took almost 20 minutes to get drinks and order. Then it took our food about 30 minutes to arrive after that. We saw our waitress exactly three times. Once to order, once to ask if we got all of our food, and once to deliver the check. I ordered the tomato, cucumber, and onion salad. It was four slices of cucumbers and 5 tomatoes. All of these seemed from the salad prep station. No dressing and no onions were included. I asked the waitress if this was normal because I have had the salad at other Cracker Barrels before. She seemed surprised that I actually knew how it was supposed to be made and even more surprised that I expected it this way. It was corrected and made correctly but it seemed like a big hassle. Would I be back? Probably not. Based on the reviews on Unilocal it seems to be a constant theme of slow bad service at that Cracker Barrel. Shame.

I’ve had much better experiences at other locations. Firstly, I know this is the south, but the sweet ice tea was far too sweet. Secondly, the food was just ok. I’ve had much better at other locations. The taste of the sausage was a little unusual.

Just had dinner here. After receiving my drink after 30 minutes waitress forgot about us. I had to get up twice to get another waitress to find her. We got our biscuits finally. After receiving dinner, my food was ice cold. Once again, I had to find out waitress. She gladly reheated the food for me, when my 10 year old daughter turned to me and said there was a hair attached to the breading of her chicken nugget. We stopped eating. Waitress gave us our bill. We won’t be coming back.
