Wonderful restaurant! They never fail to please. The Brussels sprouts are my favorite appetizer. I had some sort of chicken dish the other day and it was delicious. They also have a nice wine selection. Only complaint is that I wish the place were bigger so it would be easier to get a table.

This place is just an incredible balance of food, atmosphere and price. The menu is great. The beer selection is wide. Thoroughly enjoy eating here every couple months. The only drawback is the place is going to draw date night folks but the seating for two is disappointingly limited.

Wow! Unilocal led us off the highway. What a score. Follow the server’s recommendations. Cool place. Great food. Good prices.

After reading reviews and seeing the places, I was excited. But got quickly disappointed. Wait staff ignored us, 2 of us had to sit at a 6 top because that was the only place clean. We came at 1:30, so was not busy. Our drink order wasn’t right, and waitress was rude most every time she came. Ordered the Brussels sprouts hash, amazing flavor, and would have been perfect had the sprouts been trimmed and cooked a bit more. I got Shrimp n grits… no grits were on the plate. He ordered Pig Wings(ham shanks). Ordered a honey bourbon sauce and the came with mustard on them, ruining the perfectly cooked pork. There’s a lot of potential here, just wasn’t there.

This place has a great vibe. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Though a little pricey, it was well worth it. I will be back.

An absolute must try if you are ever in Henderson! This pub offers a nice mix of culinary adventures and well done classics with a twist. From the appetizers to the entrees and desserts everything was excellently done. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients, made with a clear passion. The service was also great. I was at a business dinner with a few people that had never been to a Gastro Pub, and he talked them through everything very well without boring anyone overwhelming detail. Very friendly and attentive. Overall excellent experience. Nice ambience and classic rustic pub charm inside.

My mom and I were looking for a nice place on the river to grab a late lunch. We ordered the porcini ravioli and Brussels sprout hash. While the service was ok, we were less than impressed with the food. The ravioli included 4-that’s it– for $ 12.95. Presentation was bland at best. The flavor did not make up for the lackluster appearance. The hash was flavorful, but these were the toughest brussel sprouts I’ve ever had! We did eat since we both were hungry, but this adventure is one we will not be repeating.

Great surprise in Henderson. DC based producer and LA based director of photography en route to Dixon ky for a shoot spent the night in town. Stumbled upon CKB. This place is legit. Aaron the bar manager has a great stock of beer and bourbon. Food is on par with anything you would find in LA or NYC. Bravo. Great night and meal.

I called ahead for a party of 11. The appetizers came out fast and were decent. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, truffle fries, and buffalo chicken egg rolls. However, it quickly declined as our main courses came out slow. The first served person was done eating by the time the last person was served(and most of our party ordered traditional burgers and fries). The chicken parm meatballs didn’t even taste like chicken. The sauce was more like a creamy tomato soup instead of a marinara. You get two palm sized meatballs. They messed up the dressing for the burgers. And the new yorker only comes with what looks like 2 oz of salmon. While we ate our meals the entire staff sat in the dining area eating their meals. The service and food wasn’t that great. My party was unimpressed, and I was embarrassed to say I selected the restaurant. Yes, it’s a hipster«gastropub»(if you want to call it that. it’s just a restaurant with a bar with some local selection), but it’s not worth it, and there are definitely better options in Henderson even though they aren’t hip. I’m not paying for hype. I’m paying to get good food. I would recommend Cancun, J&B BBQ, or the Italian place down the street over this stop.

Good pub food. Had the lamb meatballs, and they were ok. The server seemed a little cranky and the food came out one person at a time.

Great food. Trendy so don’t come expecting a basic burger and fries. Try the Brussel Sprouts. I got the shrimp and grits and they were delicious. So were the pork shanks! The beer selection is top notch. I did say it was kid friendly but the kid food is off the menu and not friendly to slightly picky eaters. Next time we come it will be date night!!!

If you read all the reviews you’ll know to try the Brussels Sprouts. If I could make them like this at home I’d eat ‘em every day. We sat at the bar and had great service. The truffle fries were a little saltier than I like, but probably suit most folks. I had the lamb meatballs. Very tasty. My fiancé had the Lobster Truffle Mac and cheese. Absolutely great. Beer: great Food: great Service: great What more could you ask for!

I got the classic burger and it was good… That’s where the good stops… We got the Brussel sprouts because people kept saying how good they are… They Aren’t, tasted like oil… My girlfriend got the caprese sandwich and added chicken for an additional charge, there were 2 tiny pieces of chicken on the edge of the sandwich, only 2 bites of the sandwich had chicken in it… Asked for honey mustard for my fries(I don’t like ketchup) and was told it will be just a minute, it’s prepared fresh as ordered… I was a little excited thinking it was gonna be some delicious best I’ve ever had honey mustard… Nope it tasted like just mustard, so overwhelmingly mustardy that I couldn’t eat it… Not sure what they«prepared» back there… And the seating, we sat at a 2 top table up against the wall and it’s so jam packed in there with the tables that before we left we had to figure out how to get out, we had to map out our exit route… Won’t be back

I love this place! It’s so unique and the food is fabulous. They really can change your mind about Brussel sprouts with their Roasted Brussel Sprouts. And the Buffalo Mac n Cheese is uhh-mazing.

We walked in and the smell of fish was overwhelming. Not an auspicious beginning. There are two unisex bathrooms. Bad idea. The first one I used stank of urine. We ordered Wagyu burgers. Steve asked for cheddar and his was fine. Mine was supposed to have grilled onions and blue cheese. It arrived without the onions. The waitress brought them but it took time. My fault for not asking for a new burger. The fries were anemic. The best dish was the cheesecake eggrolls with raspberry sauce. Service was spotty. All said, I wasn’t impressed.

I was a little bummed out having to work in Henderson, KY. It’s a small town so it’s a big departure from from where I live. Like I expected I didn’t find much but what I did find I was highly impressed. I’m not sure I have ever been to a gastropub before, but the service, food, and drink were exceptional! Price was low compared where I live, so it was a great value too! Had an app, burger and drink and plan to come back here quite a few times over the next year when I am in town. I jokenly asked for a local brew and surprisingly they had quite a selection. I love this place!

I did not expect this type of place from Henderson. It was an interesting place to visit with upscale food that is unexpected from a smaller town. The brussels sprouts were to die for! Who has ever said that at a brussels sprout? Probably only people who have been to Commonwealth! I would suggest not getting the pasta entrees. I had the pesto pasta and my friend got the truffled mac and cheese. Both were pretty one-note and left us with the taste of oil in our mouths. Yes, I understand both ingredients include oil, but I don’t want to leave a meal feeling as if my mouth has been greased. Maybe if we would have had the chicken added to the bowl or maybe a baguette would change my feelings? My mom got the mushroom ravioli with truffle corn purée. It was amazing! I definitely had order-er’s regret when I tasted it!

Walking in, I was really excited about this place. I’m visiting from California and Commonwealth has a lot in common with trendy places in San Francisco and LA — creative menu, interesting décor and hipster-y but pleasant staff. However, the experience didn’t quite live up to my expectations. We were a party of five with a reservation, and upon walking in a few minutes prior to our reservation time our table wasn’t ready. We hung out at the bar while waiting for our table and they have a great selection of beers and cocktails, but it was hard to keep ourselves entertained when we couldn’t really talk over the noise. The place is small and very loud! It was busy on a Friday night which is great and totally understandable, but whether you’re standing at the bar or seated at a table you have to shout to have a conversation. It took nearly 40 minutes after our reservation time to be seated, which was pretty abysmal. I realize the staff can’t kick out people who just won’t leave, but it seemed like the reservations were booked much too close together. It wasn’t as though any of the few larger tables were wrapping up when we got there — they were all mid-meal! One of our party who had been there before said the same thing happened the last time he ate there, too. Once we were seated the service wasn’t much better. Our waiter disappeared for long stretches of time and though the appetizers came out quickly, some entrees were brought out long before the others even though we clearly weren’t eating family style. So some of us sat longingly looking at our entrees for 10 minutes while waiting for the rest to be served. The food itself was pretty good. They comped us an appetizer for the long wait, which was nice, and the brussel sprouts and truffle fries were very tasty. My salad was very fresh and nicely plated, and would have been awesome if they hadn’t put so much dressing on it. I got through about 2⁄3 of it before I had to quit because the balsamic was so strong and the lettuce was doused in it. The others seemed happy with their entrees, though one person didn’t get a modification he asked for. Overall, I would still give it another chance. The food was good, the menu was eclectic and the atmosphere was fun even though it was so loud and crowded. I’d probably come back during a less busy time.
