We only spent time at the golf course, my husband decided to walk the course and I came along because it was a nice day. There were tons of flowers in bloom, and the course was well kept for the most part. I look forward to exploring the rest of the park next time we visit!

3 ½ stars. Great for birdies and a walk in the woods. But not sure if it’s worth the 2 hour drive from Louisville. The hike to the pond was ok, and peaceful, but the pond itself was a bit meager, and not pictureque – the skyline was a bit ruined by the 2 huge cell towers sticking up from the trees. The park is a bit too developed for our liking. …maybe my expectations were a bit too high – I imagined something more of a walden scene. The trail we took to the pond was pretty easy – some ups and downs and along the ridges.

This is a beautiful park with winding footpaths and steep hills. When we were there it was very muddy, so we were not able to take many paths. The park is free to enter and drive around. You can also park for free in the parking lot and walk around. There is a welcome center and gift shop, but the museum is $ 5.00 per person to enter. I love that there is no entry fee to go to the park. Since I am from Florida, I am used to paying expensive entry fees to visit parks. This was a nice change. There are also cabins for rent nightly, they run about $ 80 off season. Camping is from March-November, and I think it is free. It would be nice to do this in the future. You can check out their website for more details.

Decent camping(better for RVs than tents), decent camping cabins, a nice golf course, pleasant-but-short hiking trails, and a world-class museum of John James Audubon prints. Not a great location(very hard to turn left into the park coming from the North, or left out of the park going to the South), but amazing how isolated it feels so near US Highway 41.
