This place reminds me of some of the Hispanic restaurants in Harlem or Washington Heights. The key to understanding my review is the fact that Décor/Ambiance aren’t necessarily at the forefront of what these restaurants have in mind to lure in customers. It’s all about the food. If you’re used to it, you know exactly what you’re getting into when you walk in. The name would seem to suggest that Pizza & Fried Chicken are the staples here, but I haven’t tried either. I would suggest that you follow my lead and try their entrée platters. Order a protein(Pork Chop, Chicken, Steak, etc.) and add on two sides. I promise this will satisfy you. These dishes are the restaurant’s strengths and why I keep coming back. Everything was well seasoned and reminded me of home cooking. I don’t suggest the Quesedilla. The last time I ordered it, they made it from scratch but it took nearly 20 minutes which I felt was too long since I was the only one in the restaurant. Time notwithstanding, the Quesedilla wasn’t even that good. I didn’t even finish it. Don’t let that experience hold you back from the rest of their menu though. Know before you go: 1) Sometimes you’ll see a congregation of customer’s gathered to watch Spanish telecasts of soccer… er Futbol games on the big screen television near the entrance of the Restaruant. Don’t be intimidated. Just go on about your ordering business. 2) I never dine in. There aren’t that many tables and the place is small so when other customers open the door, you’ll probably feel really uncomfortable due to the draft of cold air from the door. Wait until the warm weather to kick it inside. G’head and order take out though. 3) The do accept credit cards but there’s a $ 10.00 minimum for their use.
