I’m sitting in the truck outside the Banana leaf after one of the best nights out I have enjoyed in a long time. Yes the food rocks but the kindness and worth I feel from this long time owned family restaurant is bar none. I was nurvous to sing kerioke at first. My voice coming out flat but with encuragement and a LOT of amazeing singers to help me it wasent long before I felt right at home. Boy can this family sing. It was so much fun I didn’t want to leave. I’m full on food made with love and also a light and happy heart. The prices are more than fair and it’s defiantly the sweet family that runs this cute little place that makes it shine above the rest. I probably shouldn’t brag too much with an incredible review because the place will be over ran and I’ll never make it in the door. None the less, I would still like to see this family blessed with continued success. Banana Leaf, thank you for a beautiful night out with my sweetheart. We will definitely be back.

Chicken fried rice is alright here. Big portion also. I’ll most likely try it here again.

Authentic Filipino food at its best! They also have a small store in the back if you like to take it and cook it yourself!

I went here because it was cold out and I didn’t feel like getting wrapped up in all the after work traffic. First I ordered spare ribs which they didn’t have. So I opted for the Teri beef. The rice was so mushy from sitting in a rice cooker. The macaroni salad was disgusting and had a texture that I can’t put my finger on. The Teri beef had a nice flavor but was laid on a bed of sour old lettuce that made it all inedible because the taste was stuck in my mouth from the lettuce. I definitely will not return to this place. The horrible food accompanied with the horrible attitude of the lady that took my order will only happen once.

I’ve been here 3 separate times and have left disappointed after each visit. The adobo is Not Good At All. I also had the sinigang and it was awful — there was no signature tang to the broth. Instead, it tasted like oily water with dry pork floating in it. In the past I’ve ordered the bangus, fried rice, and topsilog… all of them were, at best, mediocre — at worst sub-par — all of it was over-priced. I love Filipino food. I also like Hawaiian food. This place is not a fusion of the 2 different culture’s delicious food. This place insults both cultures by calling themselves as «Asian fusion» restaurant. I’ve given this place 3 different chances and each experience was a complete letdown.

This place sucks! Went there for lunch with the family and it was HORRIBLE!!! As we walked into this dark and dirty place we noticed that this place had no air conditioning and was really muggy inside. We ordered a fee items and the bill was 28 bucks. I got a katsu chicken that was nasty as shit and their teri beef and chicken combo and even that this place fucked it up! I couldnt stand this place no longer so i got the family and just left! This place is not worth anything!

I should have listened to my gut and left when I first came in. It was kind of dark and a bit dumpy looking, but I know that sometimes these«hole in the wall» kind of places have the best food. It took quite a while to get my order as it is prepared to order, which I took as a good sign, so you can see I was trying to be optimistic about this. I had the chicken curry and ended up removing most of the rubbery, strange hunks of chicken as the texture was awful. The curry was uninspired, even though I did tell them I wanted a level three from a one to five measure for hotness. I ended up eating primarily the rice(which was very nice) with the bland curry sauce. I immediately looked for my gum in the car to remove the taste from my mouth. It was a sad disappointment.

I must say for a little whole in the wall place this really got my taste buds fired up. First off service was good. I was not expecting much as I said whole in the wall place. Food now was simply amazing! Filipino Pork Adobo was to die for! I loved every bit and will be going back again and again. OMG it really was that good. I just cant wait to try some thing else. full of flavor and just so damn good! Great job here! PS Just tell the chef when he gets a complement to smile and say thanks.

Would not go back. Charging for refills, who does that? Food was dry and had no flavor. Service was bad, 2 of our 4 meals came out they were almost done before the others came out and 1 was an order of rice that they forgot. Bad all around.

The macaroni salad is delicious. Our favorites are the chicken katsu, fried shrimp, and kalua pork. The employees are always friendly.

I was super hopeful that this would be as yummy as I was imagining the food would be, but at the end of the day it wasn’t…it was bad! I ordered the Loco Moco(which if you know what it is you probably love them too), I LOVE a good loco moco. This one was terrible, dry, overcooked, and pretty much a disgrace to Hawaiian people and their food. The mac salad was also very bad. It’s supposed to be very creamy, mayo based, with a little hint of tuna in the background. This was not the case and in fact it tasted almost borderline rancid. The girls working there were very nice and helpful, and that is why I am giving a 2 star not 1 star review as the service was good. However the fact that everything was literally taken out of a freezer once we ordered it was not a highlight! The huge freezer behind the counter should maybe be relocated?

I ordered the pork adobo. Way to salty. Kind of made my stomach turn. I grew up eating Hawaiian and Filipino food, as I am from Hawai’i and lived there my entire life until recently moving out here. I was not impressed at all. I went there in the hopes of getting their laulau, but it was not available. Huge bummer. I was really looking forward to it. Restaurant was a bit too dirty for me as well. Especially the bathroom! Yuck! Just makes me wonder how clean is their kitchen. First and last time at this place.

My 5th visit, last hour before closing. We had a chance to have a sitdown chat with the owners. Before I share that conversation with you, here is my feedback on the ambience: much cleaner, grocery corner has been moved to a tiny room where you can shop for your favorite pacific-island snacks/food items. Chairs and tables are cleared and no longer look cluttered. I ordered Hawaiian dish item on my 2nd-4th visits; but this last one, I had a very simple item to snack. It’s another Hawaiian poipoi. What I discovered is… owners are both Filipino-Hawaiians and they really want to offer the community the taste of the pacific islands, ergo, «Asian Fusion». My personal opinion is — this restaurant will have a greater strength offering the«Hawaiian-flavored Philippine, Japanese, Korean, Portugese, Chinese cuisines» as I already tasted these items from them. I give them FULL5-STARS for the Pacific Island dishes. This is a hidden jewel of Hemet. They have the Kalua Pork, LauLau, mahi-mahi, Fried Rice, Portugese Sausage, Spam Musubi, Aloha Chicken,(ask them for the malasadas), Udon noodles, paupau(or the white bun with meat inside). Their cook-to-order is much preferred. You can also order a full roasted pig for your big party. Give them 2 weeks advance notice.

Just ordered take out-diniguon was good. adobo a bit on the salty side… overall a pretty decent place. For the price. my only suggestion(not a gripe) would be to add more rice. Would def. Go back to try other items

I love this place. It’s my go to Filipino food craving spot. My favorite dish is sisigsilog not on the menu but you can just tell them to add an egg to a dish to silog it.

This restaurant is a mixture of a restaurant and a small store. Don’t expect it to be a fancy restaurant. It is similar to the Hemet asian market. The food that they serve is mostly Filipino food and I have to say, they have the best Filipino food in the area. I have tried their sisig, sinigang, dinuguan and tortang talong, which were all delectable. It can take a while for them to prepare the dishes, so I suggest to call ahead for pick up to lessen the wait time. Overall, great place to have filipino dishes! I highly recommend this place. I would definitely be back…
