La Cabana Express

I’m sure this place can get overrun on Saturdays during October, but we went on Sunday to Octoberfest and stopped here for a bite. It was a beautiful day and no one sat inside. We sat outside and watched the traffic and people. The chunky guacamole is delicious and the margarita’s are as good as they get. The food was served hot and fresh. The tamale was fresh but could have used a little more spice, but the shrimp dish was amazing. I don’t remember what it was called, but something like a garlic shrimp. The garlic was not over powering and it was seasoned just right. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was hard to tell who was our waiter, because they all pitched in to make this our go to place for Mexican in Helen.

Very friendly service. Our waiter was Miguel and he was very helpful and friendly. The food was full of flavor and color. We loved it. We were 12 and got served fast the food was hot and just made. Prices were fair. Owner helps out the team with service. Very tight and well organized crew. We Loved it.

This place was okay. The interior was lack luster and the food seriously needed more spice/​overall taste. Although service was okay, the food took longer than usual to come out to our table. For a Mexican restaurant in the middle of downtown Helen, I was expecting it to be a lot nicer. I guess now I know that I won’t be coming here again.

Disgusting food, especially the beef, if u have to go, get the chicken, not the purina. Salsa taste like stewed tomatoes and the chicken is only ok covered in cheese sauce

Tasteless food. Gross inside. To be avoided at all costs.

Over an hour and no food, well I guess it took 30 minutes to put in the drink and food order, so you can’t expect miracles. Seriously, when in Helen, skip this place!

Nothing special but everything we had was good. Service was on par and the pricing is almost the same as any other average mexican restaurant.

Our local Mexican joint. Predictable Mexican food, but the service is awesome. I had the fish tacos this time and they were not up to their usual standards, but their other fare is good across the board.
