I rarely give out one-star reviews, but you gotta earn it! 1.The tastings are too expensive. $ 15 for 7 wines? You’re crazy. 2. The wine isn’t that great. The white wines were only okay, and their reds were largely undrinkable. I mentioned that I loved Cabernet Franc aged in oak, so the woman pouring our tasting got excited and let me try their reserve Cab Franc for free, which was awesome of her. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that it tasted awful and I’d only ever use it for making a reduction sauce or something like that. And to think, they want $ 30+ a bottle for that?! 3. Snooty! The tasting room is lovely, but this definitely is more of a place for a person that just wants to know that they’re buying expensive wine. This isn’t the place for a person who loves wine and wants to learn about wine as they taste. We weren’t given any tasting notes or paring suggestions during our tasting, plus the woman pouring just didn’t seem very patient to answer my questions. I only recommend going here to eat or party. It’s not a place for a wine lover, it’s just a place to be seen drinking and buying overpriced wine.

We had a rehearsal dinner at the tasting room with food from the restaurant at the main location. The food and service were both outstanding! All of our guests commented on the shrimp appetizer, cheese tray and the salmon entrée. A huge thank you to Cydney, Nettie and the entire Frogtown staff!

My husband and I visited this tasting room, and were the only people there. The guy who served us was very knowledgable on wine and the area, but really just wanted to serve us and send us on our way. Fine, no big deal. However, it was awkward to be the only people there with no kind of background noise — at least have some soft music playing. The wines were great, and we bought a few bottles in the $ 30 range. I would suggest that there be some kind of discount on the tasting fee if you purchase so many bottles(tasting fee is $ 15 per person for about 7 wines). We still enjoyed the experience because there are no wineries in our hometown. Overall, it’s probably a much better experience with a group or more people in the venue. I wouldn’t rule it out for that sole reason. It just didn’t do much for me personally. I was ready to get out of there as soon as we were done because it didn’t feel very welcoming. However, we went down the street to another vineyard’s wine tasting room afterwards, and had a much more enjoyable time. The workers were so friendly, and had great stories and conversations. No charge for a few tastings, which was a nice surprise.

We visited Frogtown Winery today. I enjoyed some of their dry wines. Their 2008 Merlot was my favorite. My husband liked their Southern Charm Ruby Royale. The place is neat and pleasant. It is worth the visit.
