We didn’t want to leave!!! Sheila and Bill are such gracious, warm hosts, who also make fabulous breakfasts. We stayed in the Garnet Suite, which has a breathtaking view and a wonderful balcony, perfect for sipping wine, reading and relaxing. The bathroom is magnificent: the nicest shower experience I’ve ever had, and the bathtub for two, with scented Epsom salts, was the reward after two strenuous hikes. We can’t wait to come back.

I surprised my husband with a weekend getaway here, and we couldn’t have been happier. The setting is serene with amazing views of Newfound Lake, and Sheila and Bill and wonderful hosts who feel more like friends. Also, Shelia is a fantastic cook, catering to our gluten-free and vegan diet easily and with delicious results. It was special to be able to travel with our dog and have her be treated like a princess. Our room(Amethyst) was set up with dog bowls and a dog bed. Also, while many dog-friendly places require you to crate your dog when you leave, Sheila and Bill offered to watch her while we went to dinner. She got lots of love and some treats, too! If we visit Newfound Lake again, we’ll definitely stay at Coppertoppe!

My husband and I prefer quiet, relaxing getaways and we had never been to a B&B before so we decided to give this one a try after I found a deal on Groupon. They’re DOGFRIENDLY also and that is a HUGE plus in my book since I am completely attached to my sweet dog, Lucy, and love to bring her with me everywhere. Being mostly introverted and quiet personalities, were a little wary at first about how our stay was going to go, having no idea about B&B etiquette, the expectations regarding socializing with the other guests, etc. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that Bill and Sheila were the most gracious of hosts and never made us feel as though it was awkward or anything. They treated us and Lucy like family. The view was spectacular, the food was delicious, and the company was delightful.

It’s a swanky version of staying with your favorite aunt and uncle. They make you feel completely taken care of. They got us a case of Diet Root Beer, which I suck down like there’s no tomorrow, and Diet Mt. Dew,(which my husband loves) and cooked me gluten-free breakfasts.(I have celiac). They treated my dog like the rock star she is. And the place is stunning. They got the hot tub ready for us to use each night. Just perfect. They know when to hang out and talk and when to give you space, which is an art a lot of innkeepers don’t seem to master. The only thing I have a small complaint about is that we had a jacuzzi in our room, but weren’t allowed to use it after 9 pm. There’s no context in which I would use a jacuzzi before 9 pm. It’s not a huge deal, because they have an outdoor hot tub, but if I’d known about the time parameters on our in-room jacuzzi, I may have chosen a less expensive room.

I write this review from the balcony of the garnet suite, basking in the warmth of the sun while the crisp September breeze wafts up from the lake. My bride and I have stopped here for a mini honeymoon weekend — with our dog in tow, and nearly 400 miles behind us — to find a place to quiet our minds. We found silence, and fresh, clean air, and endless rolling hills. I had to force myself to come inside last night from the balcony. It couldn’t have been more than 35 degrees out, but the view of the moonlit lake was breathtaking, and the accompanying rustle of leaves made me more relaxed than I have been in years. Bill & Sheila have been very welcoming — kind and accommodating to us as well as our dog Coda — and served up home cooked breakfast to the three of us like we were old friends. I’ve stayed in many hotels that cost double the prices here, and never have I slept, or awoken, so well. I look forward to returning to this wonderfully peaceful place.

My boyfriend, my dog, and I stayed here over Easter weekend, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. I’ll start with the most important aspect of our stay – our dog, Bernie, was able to join us. Bill and Sheila were incredibly enthusiastic about us bringing him, which made us feel very much at ease, since we often feel bad bringing him into an establishment that is geared towards people and not dogs. Bill and Sheila welcomed Bernie with open arms, and seemed to enjoy his company throughout our stay. They were perfectly fine with us allowing him to run around off-leash, and Bernie had the time of his life running around in the woods and all around the property. There are so many other reasons why I gave this place five stars. We stayed in the Garnet Room, and the view is amazing. The room was also ENORMOUS, and you have your own private balcony as well as a huge, luxurious bathroom with an open shower and a jacuzzi where you have an amazing view. It’s great for couples, but could also be great for a family, since there’s a small bedroom that branches off the master bedroom. We were visiting from NYC, which admittedly has its own amazing views, but the NH landscape was a welcome change, especially at sunrise and sunset. I could go on and on, but another important aspect of our stay was the food(we had the best blueberry pancakes, frittata, and french toast EVER), and the service from beginning to end. Sheila stayed up until midnight our first night to make sure we arrived safely, and checked on us before we left to ensure we had the right directions. We had no trouble finding the place – it was well lit and on top of a hill. Also, in regards to a comment about the stairs that was written by a previous reviewer, we thought the stairs were like any other stairs, and they were not especially narrow or steep. Bill & Sheila were attentive but not overbearing, incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they made it a perfect weekend getaway. It was a great experience for our first time at a B&B!

The property is really a home that the owners have turned into a small B&B. it is NOTANINNORRETREATCTRE. there are only around ~8 bedrooms. So right off the bat, I was a bit disappointed that they use that in their marketing. Its not an appropriate description for the property. It has a dirt road as a driveway up to the property. I arrived just after dark so I could t really make out the property that well. Initially though, I was bummed but I went along since I had been driving for 4 hours & wanted to be gracious. Bill was quite accommodating helping me with my bags. Sheila is nice but somewhat curt & was a bit abrasive with me immediately upon checkin regarding the kitchen area ‘rules & regulations’. I was definitely taken aback by that. She didnt exactly provide a warm initial reception. She lightened up a bit but definitely makes it clear that ‘there are certain ways to do things’ in the house. The biggest gripe however was the issue of the stairs. Sheila misrepresented the stairs on the property. I communicated that I would be travelling with a 14 yr old Bassett Hound so I inquired about an elevator and/or stairs. She confirmed that there were indeed stairs but did not elaborate on the size or the height. I then told her that my dog has to be carried up all staircases bc of her age. She can no longer navigate stairs bc of her arthritis & age. Sheila again made no attempt to communicate a potential problem. I arrived & the stairs were terribly steep, wrapped in steel casing & was at least 15+ steps up/down. I was shocked & upset. I decided to check out of the property because of these various issues. Largely the stairs that I was quite fearful of. I communicated my issues with the owners. I am hopeful they will be gracious & refund the 3 unused nights to my credit card. Overall though, I was deeply disappointed, because I felt the owners had completely misrepresented their property type, features & amenities. Not okay ATALL in my book. Oh. AND there’s a 14CANCELLATIONPOLICY with an automatic non-refundable processing charge.

I was at Newfound Lake to do a triathlon, and brought my family along as well. This high-end inn was off the main road, charming, impeccably clean, has large, well-apportioned, beautiful rooms; breathtaking views of the lake, and the innkeepers could not have been better at their jobs. Every need was met immediately and effortlessly, and they were impossibly well-prepared for our 1-year-old daughter. They made a few meals for us, which included excellent dishes we had never tried, such as a butternut squash mango soup, and an oatmeal bake for breakfast. Our stay simply could not have been better.
