Only live a mile from the course. Makes it very nice for a busy schedule. They moved the yellow tee’s back closer to the white tee’s and it has made it very difficult for me to play a somewhat competitive round. Have a membership at Burning Tree but will be playing at more of the local courses this year so I can enjoy the game. Rethink my membership next year.

Badly maintained fairways & mediocre greens are what you get for your $ 20 here. You also get friendly staff but the most unfriendly locals I have ever encountered. One of them actually picked up my ball & threw it in a lake. Basically avoid this place like the plague.

Rates are reasonable and the course is usually in good shape. You may not get a birdie, but you may get a goose. At times the geese try to take over the greens and fairways. I guess they naturally fertilize the course which allows rates to remain low. Can’t forget that it is the home of the Mastadon!

Burning Tree gets 5 stars for being true to exactly what it is… a solid golf course, well maintained at a good value for the average golfer offering nice pro shop options, good food and drinks and last but not least a complete dinosaur exhibit in the basement. I’ll challenge anyone out there to find all that wrapped up into a golf experience!!! For the price point offered(average of around $ 20) for 18 holes of golf with a cart, nothing in the area competes! Course is usually maintained pretty well, and the back 9 is a nice change of pace and difficulty from the front 9. Great clubhouse, friendly staff and literally some of the best shredded chicken and chicken salad sandwiches I’ve ever had ;) Good beer choices for the cart cooler, large pro shop full of all kinds of things for the beginner through experienced golfer. One last thing that sets this place apart… If you have ever been here you know what it is… Dinosaurs!!! That’s right. During the excavation of this course back in the 80’s, the most complete mastadon skeleton on the planet. Stop into the clubhouse before, during or after your round to grab a beer, mastadon dog and head down to the basement for a pretty cool exhibit and experience.
