This is just like the old-fashioned feed stores of my(and your?) youth. I shop here regularly for supplies for my dog and chickens, and have even purchased garden starts here on occasion. I had to rent a fox/raccoon trap once, and they were very helpful. Everyone who works here is very friendly, and will offer to carry your stuff to your car. Prices are very reasonable. John Wright(the owner) is usually working the cash register, and can help you with any farm-related questions you might have. There aren’t many family-owned places like this left(they’ve all fallen to the chains like Home Depot or Petco), so it makes me happy to see Wright’s still open for business.

This store is about as local as it gets. Very personal service and they even load your car if you buy large bags of feed. When I first went there a couple years ago, I thought they would not carry the particular brand of specialized dog food and I was pleasantly surprised to find it. But what has impressed me more was an occasion when I had to return a full bag of unopened dog food. The reason was that my senior dog fell very ill(cancer) and we had to euthanize her. Though I had no receipt, the owner expressed his condolences and pleasantly refunded me my purchase. Please patronize this store and show appreciation for local mercants like this.

I buy chicken feed, COB, straw and salt blocks. I stop here once in a while to get something — but I don’t really enjoy shopping here. It is the 7 – 11 for my chickens when they really need something. I’ve also bought start plants for the garden. The good . Location is good for me because I drive by all the time . Local business — you are supporting locals . They have a really good BB of local livestock for sale and events in he area. The bad . I bought some chicken feed that had a lot of sand«or something» in it. It was so bad I will never get chicken feed there again… well unless he chickens are starving and that’s the only thing left. . Driving in and out can be a hassle sometimes when they are busy.

Aw, Wright’s Feed Store is adorable. It’s been there longer than I can remember, and that random white horse display at the front, too. It might look a little dingy inside, but only as proof of how genuine the place is. The staff, including John Wright himself, is always more than willing to help, and they even carry things out to the car for you. Sure, the prices don’t beat Wal-Mart, but I go to support small businesses.
