A great alternative to the standard fare on the Square. I haven’t eaten eaten there yet but plan to very soon. Try the Emerald Martini. So delicious. Coconut milk, mint syrup and Matcha. The owner Donna is always around saying hello and sharing her passion for teas and its healthy properties.

I have to say, I didn’t know what to expect from this place but I loved it. Came in on a rainy Sunday, looking for ramen. Got a black cranberry tea that was perfectly brewed and an amazing creamy, rich bowl of not too salty broth, perfectly stretchy chewy noodles, fresh pork and well cooked egg. It was an excellent bowl. The service was charming(I loved the green tea soaked hand towel, what a cool touch), and the atmosphere is mellow. If you’re looking for ramen in wine country, this is your spot.

What an experience at the Taste of Tea! Never knew about this wonderful gem, that has been open for a little over a year now. Decided to finally stop by for an early lunch and was not disappointed in the least! We were immediately greeted by a wonderful host who seated us right by the bar to watch some magical tea making. I have always enjoyed tea, but this place was an eye opener and opened my mind to fermented and various other tea kinds. I ordered the famous ramen that was mentioned by many Unilocalers on here. I’ve had quite a bit of non instant ramen and this had to be some of the better i’ve tasted in my lifetime. It was very well balanced and did not have a flavor that overpowered the others in the ramen. I did drown it in the house made hot sauce after a while which I purchased some to go might I add when finished with the meal. To pair with the ramen I had some 1997 puerh tea which is definitely an acquired taste, but I absolutely loved it. If you are unfamiliar with the art of tea or curious which tea to choose from(There are a ton!), the servers or tea brewer behind the counter will help you with any questions you have. This makes it much easier for you to decide or figure out what magical concoction they are brewing behind the counter. To finish the meal, I ended it with some Green Tea Mochi Wrapped Ice Cream and chocolate dipping sauce. Let me tell you this, that dessert was absolutely astonishing, do not miss out on that one! To add onto the lunch or dinner meals, they also offer a private room for foot massages, facial masks, and tea flights. I did not partake in the private room, so I cannot comment, but it looks like a fun time. To sum it up, this was a great lunch experience for a wonderful price and I cannot wait to re visit soon.

Hey there. First of all, I want to apologize to all my followers for any typos in this review… Im typing it on an apple product. For that, I am sorry. On to the teeeaaaa! This is not a negative review… But I don’t want to give the impression that it is a positive review either. So… Just watch out. Ok now that the disclaimers are out of the way, we can talk tea. And by tea I mean the long ass confusing ass menu of «round the world» teas. This place has more confusion than any other tea place I’ve been to. It seems like they are trying to do a lot. Too much. We were a bit confused… The menu had like 600 teas but the staff was very knowledgable and helpful. So that was neat. For a tea room, it was bright as hell. Not a comfy tea lounge, so don’t expect that. Like at all. They have a lot going on and it feels kinda in your face. The feng shui was kinda feng shitty… Which was strange. But maybe that’s just their thing. HEALDSBURGTOTALLLLYYYNEEDED A PLACELIKETHIS!!! FINALLYYYY! 3⁄5 might go again. Might.

Delicious food and lovely peaceful atmosphere! The owners are friendly and brought us green tea pastries to try. Donna, the owner designed tea glasses that are so pretty and make drinking tea fun. We had the ramen and the udon noodles, both were excellent.

When I dream of tea, I dream of *The Taste of Tea*. SOHAPPY I GETTOWRITE A VALENTINE’S DAYREVIEWON A PLACETHAT I LOVE! This is the most delightful tea drinking house I’ve ever experienced. Why? Because they are true experts, and hallelujah for bringing the art of tea drinking to life. Here, you’ll learn about the different varietals of tea from China and Taiwan. You have a plethora of food pairings including soups, delectable main dishes and desserts. And yes, there are vegetarian-friendly items. But the point is that, no matter what food pairing you choose from the menu, the helpful owners and staff are more than happy to explain the flavor profiles, and why a particular tea is paired with that item. Not to mention, there’s an über relaxing mini-spa in the back where you can get tea facials and tea foot soaks, among other things. They even have a bar area where you can sit and marvel as they extract tea with their cool contraptions. I have to say that the chemist in me was on ***fire****! Totally worth the trip to Healdsburg… and there are so many other reasons too :) My recco: Start your day in Healdsburg with a couple hours here. Come for the tea and a bite, move into a facial, end with a matcha tea and dessert at the bar.

We have gone back several more times now. I’ve gone with my husband and other times with my friend. I love this place. Chef Nez now service Japanese curry and Yakiudon. I have tried the Salmon Ochazuke and loved it but I keep going back to the Ramen. As I said before, the ramen is the kind I am very familiar with. It’s the light broth, not the dark broth. Chef Nez makes these dishes the way he grew up with and I’m glad he does. I love the Japanese curry because I was raised with it. I can eat the«Indian/Himalayan» curry but it’s not the same as Japanese curry. My favorite dessert is the Green Tea Sundae but I’m saying anything more because I don’t want to share. The Green Tea Cheesecake is very good, too. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. I enjoy the energy and food there. Also, just to let you all know who don’t know how to eat ramen, it’s OK to slurp. Just ask Chef Nez. The ramen isn’t the same without slurping. Slurp, Slurp!

I’d like to start off by saying thank you to the kind employees that made my visit one to remember! I had been having a bad day and was searching downtown Healdsburg for some lunch when I spotted the sign advertising Ramen outside. This sounded like a great choice for lunch so I decided to give it a try. I was greeted by the friendly staff and sat at a lovely table right next to the window. The first thing I noticed was the calm and relaxing interior which made me feel right at home. I ordered some edamame, and the Chashu(pork) ramen, both where perfectly portioned and delicious! After I decided to try one of the many tasty looking desserts they offered, after a helpful recommendation from my waitress I enjoyed a delicious petit four. Perfect end to a lovely meal! I can say with confidence I will be returning here, as this experience really made my day!

Food portions seem really small for the price. Wide selection of teas and the restaurant is very cute, aptly suited for Healdsburg. Everything here just seems way too expensive for what you get.

After truly being able to enjoy this place the second time around(thanks to Unilocal), I can finally(super overdue) write a review. Originally passing this place from a previous Unilocal event next door, I had the pleasure of trying their matcha that day. I do remember telling myself that, that was some good matcha. The second time around was from another Unilocal event, but this time it was specifically for Taste of Tea. I had the pleasure of tasting all of the other things that they offer aside from the matcha. From the farro cereal all the way to the green tea ice cream. Chef Nez did such an amazing job! The soba noodles and ramen were my favorite; they were both very flavorful and refreshing. Nothing that Chef Nez fed us were heavy at all, everything was very light in a sense. Donna(Chef Nez’s wife) enlightened us all with almost everything that you ever needed to know about tea(I never knew tea leafs were so delicate), while we had the luxury of sampling all of their popular blends in both hot and cold. If it wasn’t for Unilocal,I would’ve never had found and enjoyed this little gem on my own. This place is such a great find. Aside from teas and a light meal, they also offer mini spa services that will sure give you that extra energizing lift!

A lovely Tea spot located right in Healdsburg! Who would have EVER thought! Ive been here more than 3 times and I still find this place fascinating! I first noticed Taste of Tea as I was at a Private Unilocal Elite party right next door called Portalupi Wine. As I walking out I noticed Sami the lovely worker here at Taste of Tea passing out samples of Tea. It tasted SO good and Sami was so knowledgeable about the different type of Teas that I just HAD to stop in and witness what this place was all about. This is the perfect place to go alone or with friends. Taste of Tea is a family owned business by wife Donna and her husband Chef Nez Tokugawa and their daughter Tai who have done a fabulous job in running this small business. Donna had 30 years into finance and studied Tea as her study. The couple never intended to start this location it just happened but I’m happy it did! The owners are truly passionate about Tea and it shows with the work that they do. Taste of Tea serves many teas but their specialty is Asian tea. The tea selections are varied and delicious. The food items offered are tasty and pair well with the teas. I was surprised when I first walked in and noticed that they cook food here as well! The chef Nez is the BEST chef that I know that can cook some amazing Ramon! Ramon here is $ 12 and it’s totally worth every penny of it! It’s a MUST try when in here! You will definitely thank me later! Donna was nice enough to give me a tour of her lovely place and I was introduced to the Relaxation Room! It’s beautiful and EVERY person should try it if they get a chance to come here. It’s very calming and relaxing! OMG! The ambiance is pleasant and soothing. My FAVORITES: ~Ramon ~Farro Salad– The Japanese style dressing that they add to the salad is delicious! OMG! I’m still thinking about the taste as I type! ~Green Tea Ice Cream-Is delicious! It comes with corn flakes at the bottom that helps get rid of the strong Green Tea taste. I truly enjoyed every bite of it! ~The Green Tea Soba Noodles– which is served with Napa Cabbage, carrots and snow peas dressed with the chef’s secret vinaigrette! One word to describe it… DELICIOUS! This place is unique because most businesses in the area are closed on Tuesday’s and The Taste of Tea is opened on Tuesday so it’s a nice place to come within the area and everywhere else seems to be closed that day. From this location there are 52 Wine tasting areas so the Tate of Tea stands out in so many ways because it’s not a wine tasting scene it’s a Tea scene with so much other things to offer. Not only did I get tea education and soul satisfaction. I also was able to buy some Tea for myself to help with swelling and I have to say it helped A LOT! I look forward to coming back here and have to admit that this Tea spot in Healdsburg is PERFECT for the area!

I was impressed from the very beginning. My education with tea began when I come in the front door. These people speak and live tea. owners Donna and Chef Nez, and their lovely daughter Tai, elevate the experience enough to make me return for the footsie bath. Drink tea and get a footsie bath. Yes, I said that out loud. Food and snacks and ice cream. Dreamy. Let me back up a minute. The tea is not bulk machine harvested. It is from boutique growers and organic from near Kyoto the southern end of Honshu Island. They went to great lengths to introduce us to teas that heal. Why not enjoy a bowl and, and get healthy. We were shown great hospitality and every member of the knowledgeable staff can make the perfect cup of tea. Ma-cha, sen-cha, o-cha, it’s here. But the range of other teas are impressive. I liked the oolong. It was a light version of the smokey Chinese cousin. You may come in and enjoy a bowl of Farro cereal, or take lunch with a hearty bowl of soba or udon noodle soup. And follow it up with the best homemade Green Tea Ice Cream you ever had. If you are looking for tea supplies, this is definitely a one stop shop. Cups, bowls, Tea Pots, filters, flavorings, and more. Don’t wait, go now. And remember to visit the tranquil back room. (A special thanks to Leila Seppa Photography for joining us on another adventure. Her work is amazing)

This is a wonderful addition to Healdsburg. This is my second visit. Today we took advantage of the HERO card and got ramen and tea for my co workers. This is delicious and nutritious. Support your local businesses and enjoy a lovely cup of tea. Ask them about their tea education program too.

I feel grateful to have been introduced to such a wonderful location. Located in downtown Healdsburg, this mecca of Teas has so much to offer. They only select the finest of teas. I was a bit over whelmed with how much there is to learn about tea. The owner Donna and her husband(who also is the chef) found their passion in tea an a hobby. They later perused that hobby into a flourishing business. When you walk into Taste of Tea, you will greeted by a team of Tea enthusiasts. This place has a very zen-om atmosphere that will put you at ease. Chill back for a bit in their meditation room in the back. Decompress in this chill spot as you enjoy a variety of teas. Taste of Tea is also known for their Raman. You will find noodles here like no place else. And if you have room for dessert, the green tea ice cream is a MUSTTRY!!! I had such a wonderful experience here that I can not wait to share this magical little place with friends and family

First of its kind! How many have heard of a tea lounge, a restaurant and a spa all rolled in one establishment… this place is it, The Taste of Tea, a family-owned business ran by your tea docents, Chef Nez, Donna and daughter, Tai. We had the pleasure of meeting them during a Unilocal event held here one Sunday afternoon. Donna is full of knowledge when it comes to tea and the art of tea. It’s a unique concept, something different in the community surrounded by over 50 wine tasting rooms here in downtown Healdsburg. They offer no alcohol in this tea lounge but do enjoy and try one(or two) of their signature marTEAnis served in a martini glass. Most are stirred some are shaken. There are five flavors to choose from and are about $ 7/glass. There are plenty of blends to choose from from their tea menu including specialty iced teas, hot teas, artisan blends(with or without caffeine), Japanese green teas, oolong teas and Taiwanese oolong teas. Nearly 80 flavors to choose from on their tea list! My personal favorite was the Vanilla Bean black tea. Not sure if some are seasonal… you may need to inquire if you are looking for a particular favorite. That’s just a little description of the teas they offer… there’s more! The restaurant! The restaurant offers snacks, appetizers, cold salads, and RAMEN! Delicious ramen made famous by Chef Nez, owner. The secret is in the blend of sauce! And what’s a meal without dessert… do you love matcha? Feast yourselves on 9 different flavors including the Green Tea Sundae! Enjoy your MarTEAni or ramen at the bar. I can only eat so much in one visit but I always enjoy some green tea ice cream. My review is getting too long and I haven’t even touched on the spa yet. Well, I have yet to try a spa treatment here so I will need to update this review once I do. The tea lounge also offers ceramic tea sets, tea pots, glassware, cups utensils and they are beautifully displayed in their store. When in Healdsburg, stop by and do try one their delicious MarTEAnis :) Here is a short video of our Unilocal Elite Event… watch

Truly zenful. It was meant to be that we all gathered next door for a Unilocal Elite Event at Portalupi, and this unique tea lounge really stood out. Talk about FATE! The ambiance is inviting and relaxing. I simply want to come inside to pass time idly. Not to mention the spa in the back — time for a nap after sipping vinos. Thanks to Chef Nez, Donna, and the entire staff for their friendly reception and stellar service. I love everything about this place. All my favorite things in life in my favorite charming town of Healdsburg. What’s not to love? Onto the food, OMG — the best ramen ever with BBQ pork and egg as add-ons. I thought by just ordering the«UnWine to ReWine» I’d be content — not! I couldn’t help myself, everything on their menu is tempting. I thought to myself, it may be another month before I make the trek up, why not try new things while I’m here. Chef Nez put together an assortment of delightful mochi desserts, cream puffs, and cheesecakes when we ordered dessert, and we each had our own plate of everything — tasted marvelous. I can’t wait to come back, I’m always on a hunt for new tea adventures. Next time, I will have a MarTEAni(non-alcoholic) served in actual rimmed martini glasses, how cute is that? They have a huge selection of loose leaf teas, will definitely try the Taiwanese Oolongs. Keep calm & drink tea!

A tea lounge/restaurant/and spa — all rolled in to one! And did I mention that they’re one of the few North Bay places that serve authentic ramen? I discovered The Taste of Tea after hosting an event the other day at the Portalupi Wine tasting room next door. The enthusiastic owner, Donna, gave me the grand tour of the space(and what a beautiful space it is!). Customers can chill in their comfy tea lounge and sip on one of the signature MarTEAnis. These refreshing mocktails are served in actual martini glasses, however they are alcohol free and contain a variety of wonderful ingredients. The two mocktails I tried were the Moonstone(Cold Drip Moonlight White Tea stirred with fresh mint and Sonoma lavender syrup in a vanilla sugar rim) and the Ruby(Cold Drip Citrus Hibiscus stirred with Sonoma raspberry Meyer lemon syrup with a hibiscus sugar rim). Boy, were these drinks delicious! Perfect beverages for a hot, summer day. Trust me, you won’t miss the booze. Best of all, they’re only $ 7.50 each. While I can’t speak for their food, my friends informed me that they stayed for lunch and had a wonderful meal. Everyone was raving about the Ramen with BBQ pork and egg. Apparently, the broth is made in-house and comes with Chef Nez’s Special Hot Sauce(a top secret recipe). For folks with a lighter appetite, you can choose from soba noodle salads, grilled rice balls, and other Asian delicacies. And if that wasn’t enough, they also boast a small spa in the back of the building. Folks can indulge relaxing treatments, including: an infused tea facial mask, a soothing tea foot soak, and an herbal tea neck wrap. All these treatments can be enjoyed while sipping on a rejuvenating flight of tea. The next time you’re in Healdsburg and looking for a unique spot to unwind and recharge(especially after a long day of wine tasting) — make sure you poke your head in to The Taste of Tea. Your body and soul will thank you for it.

I was at a Private Unilocal Elite Event at Portalupi Wines . I had popped outside to look at a Friends car .She wanted to show me the War Wounds on her Vehicle LOL. This is where I met Sammy one of the Sales Reps of The Taste Of Tea. Sammy had a Few Samples of the Blended Teas. They were very Tasty and Refreshing. Sammy was very nice as she let us know about the Parking Enforcement Agent going around . Then I just happened to run into one of the Proprietors Donna. Donna and her Husband Nez are also the Owners. Nez is also the Resident Chef. He Prepares Their Ramen Soup Offerings . Donna, Nez and Their Staff are Very Friendly and Knowledgeable about Teas and Blended Teas . I got to Try a Non Alcoholic Blended Tea Cocktail. It was very Tasty and Refreshing . Donna gave me a Tour of the Business . The Building was made in the 1960s . Donna and Nez had the Place Gutted and they Renovated the Space to Suit the Business. The Spa Room is Nicely Decorated. It has many pieces from Donnas Private Asian Art Collection. Fun Fact — there are several pieces of Asian Art spread throughout the Tea Tasting room. Another Fun Fact there are Several Different Types Of Buddha’s placed in Several Different spots in the Tea Room. They are Direct Importers of their Teas. They also send Samples of their Teas to labs to Analyze them for Safety and Tea Typing. One of my favorite Buddha’s is the Giant Stone Hotai placed outside the Kitchen . After the Tour I returned to the Unilocal Party at Portalupi Wines. At the Party I talked to a Few OG Unilocalers and mentioned my findings at Taste Of Tea . We all decided to have an After Party at Taste Of Tea . After the Unilocal Event at Portalupi Wines we went to the Taste Of Tea, Where Donna gave the OG Unilocal Posse a Tour of the Business. My Unilocal Peers were quite impressed with what they saw. We Grabbed a Table in their very Comfy Tea Room . Where we Perused their Offerings . I ordered Chef Nezs Special Ramen with Bbq Pork and Egg. Chef Nez Delivered me a Picture Perfect Bowl Of Ramen . The Broth is made in house as well as Chef Nezs Special Hot Sauce made from his Secret Recipe. My Ramen Soup was very Tasty, Hearty and the Noodles were cooked Perfectly. I also Sampled the Mochi which is Imported from Hawaii, The Cheese Cake, Green Tea Ice Cream and Several Pastry’s and Teas . We also got to Try The Tea Wipes very cool Presentation . We all paid by Credit Cards and Rolled out . I would Definitely Stop at the Taste Of Tea when I’m in the Area.
