The Zin at Pezzi King tasting room in town was AMAZING! Sharon was so informative and very pleasant to visit with. When our case runs out, we will definitely be ordering another.

I came here suuuuper excited to see the views, etc. But this is the address for their tasting room, not the estate. I felt tricked! We left an event early to make it on time to this winery, and it wasn’t what I’d read it was. Well make an appt to see the estate and then I’ll change my review. Make sure you know which one you’re going to! Tasting room, not the estate, is at 412 Hudson St.

This review is for the vineyards, not the tasting room downtown. Go to the vineyards. Trust me. They are awesome and very scenic. Appt only on weekends I think but worth it.

I tasted on an armband weekend in the tasting room in Healdsburg. I was pretty good, but I should go back and check again :-)

We had an 11am tasting at the Pezzi King Estate, and it was amazing. The estate is up a winding road, and the grounds are stunning. The staff serves cheeses, meats, crackers, and dried fruits alongside very generous tastings. Yesterday was a beautiful and sunny day in Sonoma, so sitting poolside while overlooking the vineyard was a fantastic way to do a wine tasting. The Sauvignon Blanc was our favorite white we tasted all day, and Pezzi King makes amazing Zins. Definitely worth making an appointmnet to visit the estate!

Pezzi King, what happened, man? Years ago we were wine club members… but dropped when we were charged for a reserve tasting(really)? We hadn’t been able to figure out where they were located now. They have administrative offices near the Hudson Street Wineries, and, evidently, some palatial estate where it costs $ 20+ per person for tasting. They had a couple of wines open. Nothing remarkable. The woman behind the counter was new and personable enough, but nothing to cause us to come back.

The grounds at Pezzi King are nothing short of stunning. Wine tasting by the pool, while over looking the valley below is magical. Too bad the wines in my humble opinion suck. It was a huge let down to be tasting wine in such a breath taking location, when the wines were barely passable. Case in point, we tried a savignon blanc which tasted, now I am not trying to be cruel or to exaggerate, like pickle juice straight from the jar. For a moment, I thought it was just me, but others in my party felt the same way. Drat! Nothing else we tasted made any impression whatsoever, but I guess if you are going to taste substandard wine, why not do it beautifully! Clearly when it comes to wine, there is unlikely to be universal agreement – it is simply a matter of taste. There were some Texans visiting Sonoma County at the table next to ours and they lapped this stuff up. I am not a wine snob at all, but it seemed like they didn’t really know any better… The staff were quite friendly and nice. The cheese and meat plate that were served along with the tasting was a nice touch. Will we be going back? Probably not. Would I recommend this place to a friend, YES – for the views, not the wine.

Pezzi King wines are luscious, they never dissapoint. And their«tasting room» at the pool outside the owners home is stunning and the views incredible. Yes, it is by appointment only but if you can plan ahead it is well worth the trip. Make sure to plan to sit awhile and enjoy the ambience and view — this is not a tasting experience you will want to rush through.

It was a freezing morning. We tasted wine at 10:30 in the morning by the pool, cozying up next to the fire pit and watching the dogs play. The woman doing our tasting was very cool. They provided us with some great cheese and wines of course!

Having travelled to Healdsburg for so many years, way back when it was just a small«hick town», I’ve seen it grow to a much more fancy destination in the last 10 years and have friends whom have lived there for years. so when PK was recommended to go for a tasting by those within the wine industry themselves, I made an appointment for a private tasting with friends. The Winery is set on West Dry Creek,(the Dry Creek appellation is second only in this region to Alexander valley, at least for reds and I, my Unilocaling friends, am a redhead luvr)…it’s hidden way back off the road up a windy single lane road that carves up the Oak tree studded hills, to open up into a hidden valley of vines. The tasting room over looks the hillsides of grapes, on a pool terrace with a killer view, just below the owners house. It’s small winery and has a very down to earth feel, not pretentious. The Cabs and Zins were all Very good, no tanic acid or nitrate riddled, aftertaste of sulphur here, not bitter not too much oak, not sharp, just well aged, well blended, quality grapes from up to 90 year old vines, that is fruity but light, buttery smooth and liquid delight! Everyone enjoyed the tasting which went past the one hour mark and everyone bought some wine to take home, and that’s usual with this group.(Sideways note: if your into Pinot Noirs, then the Russian River area has more to offer, like TWOMEY or new since 2008 Donnatello on the former Belvedere vineyard property.) From beginning to end, it was well worth the $ 10 tasting fee, a great drive, view, service, & taste and with Zins that will make more friends!

Not my favorite winery in Healdsburg. I would pass on this one if I was heading out for Russian-River wine tasting tour Sideways style.

I inadvertently ended up at the very gorgeous Administrative Offices of Pezzi King in my quest for their yummy elixirs. On the map, it’s clearly labeled, so off we headed, intent on adventure(a call to the number listed got us a very frosty reception — apparently tasting is by appointment only and there was no availability on a Wednesday afternoon). To heck with rules! We decided to crash the party. The administrative party anyway. Boo. The grounds were unbelievably beautiful however, and if they weren’t so snobby on the phone, we would have loved to buy some of their wine since I’m a big fan. Oh well Pezzi King. Your loss.

Talk about a view! This place that I stumbled upon has great wines and a really humble atmosphere. The only downside of their award winning wines is that they can be quite pricey but to quaff them is to sip nectar of the gods. Worth stopping by for sure. Those in the know are all over PK.
