We did a tour and tasting at Limerick Lane for a business conference — roughly 35 people. Originally, I contacted them to set up a private dinner event on the property, but because they are a small winery we would have had to rent most of the equipment. We decided it would be easier to have a dinner elsewhere, but they were kind enough to offer our entire team a tour and tasting! Andy lead our tour, he was amazing! So charismatic and knowledgeable on their history, and wines, and even had funny stories. If you have the opportunity to visit Limerick Lane, I would highly suggest it. Everyone is extremely welcoming and the property is gorgeous. You will have a great time.

Torn a bit here — one of my favorite tasting room experiences, so I’d like to say go, but loved having the place to ourselves for the 11am tasting appointment. Lower key tasting room than the more developed ones in Napa /Sonoma area, and great wines.

Great 2011 Pinot Noir and Melissa was awesome during the tasting. Really conversational and knowledgeable about the area. Was able to answer all of our questions.

I could give them 5 stars on the wine alone, but they also have a nice tasting room set among the vines to really merit the rating. Plus, I love the fact that it’s a small, family owned and operated winery. They make some superb zins and blends that feature petite sirah, syrah and grenache. Very much up my alley. They consistently get excellent ratings in Wine Spectator which are well deserved. The tasting room is by appointment only so it’s not crowded. We came when they first opened at 10am(love that too!), and we were the only party present. I got on their mailing list so I can get first dibs on their wine allocation. Due to some fakakta AZ laws, they can’t ship to our state at this time so I’ll just have to keep visiting to pick up my bottles.

I think I’ve reviewed this winery before,(I’ve been going there for a reaaaalllly long time now) but they have changed ownership in the last few years, so I thought I would update it. Their wine is excellent, especially their zins which avoid much of the overripe jammy quality of others in this area. The people are delightful and very knowledgeable. They have raised their tasting price from $ 6 to a slightly annoying $ 15 for about four wines, but since I always buy something, the tasting charge goes away, so no biggy. Not one to slug down wine at tasting, I still appreciate the generous pour you get at this winery. You’re not licking the bottom of the glass to appreciate something you noticed in your first taste. They require reservations now, but I just showed up on a weekday afternoon, walked in and asked, «Can I get a reservation… like now?» They were very accommodating.

The grounds(30 acres) are surrounded by beautiful countrysides. The baristas are charismatic and very good conversationalists. I would say this is a must stop location, as it really beats most of the over-visited larger companies. As wine is subjective, I recommend that you have the taste flight and decide which one suits your palate best. Even if you don’t find your heart’s content, you will have had a nice visit and met some interesting people. I recommend the 2013 Estate Zinfandel and 2013 Syrah/Grenache. Enjoy!

This was a very good winery with a great staff and wines. The zin’s were really good, and was exactly what I was looking for. It had a few different wines that i was a fan of and the tasting room was fun too. This is a must stop if you are a Zin person.

A charming destination just south of Healdsburg, making it a good start to your wine trip(or a capper if you’re coming from the north). We made this our first stop before getting some lunch in Healdsburg, and we were really pleased with the decision! On a nice day, the small road and winery give you that«quaint» winery feeling that many people are looking for once they are out of the city. We ended up being the only ones in the tasting room, which was fairly small but had window benches with a cool breeze and a great view out in the neighboring vineyards. We got to walk back into the facility and out into the vineyard out back to take a closer look as we sampled the wines. Not sure if this is standard practice, but it was a nice touch. Conversation was easy and friendly, and we learned a great deal about the winery history and the vintages themselves. Following our tasting, we ended up with a great syrah-grenache blend. They also pointed us in the direction of some great options into Healdsburg and beyond!

Awesome winery. Friendly staff(Mary Ann). Great wines, especially if you like old vine zin(some vine on their property are over 100 years in age). Highly recommended stop.

Really enjoyed the tasting room and the staff working there. Mary was friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. They’re kid friendly too and definitely not overcrowded like most bay area wineries. That might change with their recent write up in Wine Spectator. But the wines were really good too. Their Zins are the best. The Syrah Grenache blend is good too. When I got my bottle home, it definitely needed to breathe a bit before drinking. But enjoyable no doubt. This is what a small winery is supposed to be all about. The vines are old and you can look at them out the window for proof. I look forward to more of their wines and being a wine club member for them. Very nice affordability to taste/quality ratio.

Excellent tasting experience at Limerick Lane. Beautiful Winery with fabulous wine! Known for Zinfandel and Rhone Varietals. Highly recommended if tasting in the Healdsburg area. They take walk ins whenever possible but do like you to call and let them know you are coming for a visit.

This was our first stop on our day after Thanksgiving wine tasting. I made our reservations for 10:00am and we arrived right on time. I love the small and quaint wineries as you can gain more insight on the wine making, the winery, etc. Our host, Dave, provided us with a variety of wines to taste, and information on all the wines we tasted as well as the vineyard, the age of all the grape vines for the different wines and more! He was a wealth of knowledge! This is one winery that I will look forward to going to over and over again! Every wine that was poured was excellent! If you’re looking to try some great wine, get some great information and history I highly recommend you make reservations on this wineries website and enjoy your time there!

Limerick Lane winery is amazing. I have come here twice and joined the wine club. The young man attending gave us a quick tour of the back winery and also let us take our glasses for a short hike up the hill. The views were beautiful and the Pinot noir was amazing. Loved the personal and friendly service!

Limerick Lane Cellars is literally at the end of road. The gentleman in the tasting room was genuine, knowledgeable and interesting. We had a very interesting discussion on «Old Vine Zin» I really enjoyed the Zins. It’s a short stop directly before lunch; we did not see the wine bottle pool.

Limerick Lane is a terrific, small family run operation. They make top quality zins! We tasted the zin block series, 1970, 1934, and 1910. All are delicious and we can’t wait to get back for more. The new owner, Jake, was there and he is a super nice, down to earth guy. He really cares about the integrity of the wine. They spend $ 0 on marketing and something like 80% of their wine production is sold through the wine club. Many times stuff sells out through the club before it ever sees full retail release so if you like the wine, join the club! PS: The location is a very short drive right off highway 101. Make sure you get a peek at the wine bottle shaped pool!

This place makes me question whether my proxy for gauging wines is fair. Very pretty environs, especially as you drive up. Nice pourer(Peter from Vermont) — who took us on a secret tour of the wine-bottle shaped pool. The wine for us: somewhat forgettable. Maybe I need to end it with a port or late harvest to be happy, which isn’t their fault? Maybe I need a few whites to be happy? Maybe she’s born with it — Maybe it’s Maybelline?

Limerick Lane had been on my radar prior to planning a recent trip to the Sonoma Valley during the week of Thanksgiving, but by the time my wife and I had arrived, we had somehow overlooked it. Fortunately for us, we ran into a gentleman over at Benziger Family Winery who informed us about LL’s recent crop troubles. Turns out that this past summer had been particularly hard on their zinfandel and turned pretty much all of them into raisins. This is a winery that produces about 90%(maybe more) zinfandel. So you can imagine just how devastating a blow that is to such a small company. Needless to say we made it our business to get over there in an effort to support them any way we could. Upon arriving there we met Gina Riner who is their director of sales and marketing. This lovely young lady graciously welcomed us in, toured us through the facility(love the pool shaped like a wine bottle!) and conversed with us for what might have been about 45 minutes to an hour. She allowed us to taste pretty much their entire line INCLUDING the Late Harvest Furmint(which I believe has now sold out). Unfortunately we were on a budget and couldn’t purchase more than one bottle per winery, but we were more than happy to hand our money over to Gina and Limerick Lane in order to purchase one of their 2007 Collins Vineyard Zins(which BTW made Food & Wine’s 2011 Wine Guide TOP10 out of over 1,000 bottles). I hope to be able to purchase a bottle of that Furmint the next time they make it available. Boy would that be a treat! And thank you again, Gina! All the best to you and Michael!
