Davis Family vineyards is a must see in Healdsburg. Upon arriving we were greeted by Adrianne and Holly who were both so nice and helpful in answering our questions about the wines and the town. :) Wine — 4.5 stars They have a sparkling Pinot which is quite tasty. Its not too sweet or dry and I remember thinking great for any special occasion. Davis specializes in Pinots and both my boyfriend and I found at least 2 we both really enjoyed. We bought half a case of their horse shoe which is absolutely delicious. The horse shoe is structured but very smooth with and no overwhelming tannin taste. Space — 4 stars. We fortunately came during the slow season but I can see how this place would get packed and difficult to move. The pouring table was beautifully crafted and I did enjoy the space overall.

Davis Family Winery was an excellent winery that I crossed on my way into Healdsburg. It really is truly a hidden gem in the busy small town of Healdsburg. Was greeted by Holly and was thrilled to be served some quality wine from a knowledgeable and kind individual. We ran through their entire wine fleet and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed in any of the wines. I will be truthful though and admit I’m not a big white fan, but their Viognier was excellent. If I had to choose my go to wine from their entire fleet, it had to be the Cab 5, that blend was outstanding! For 10 dollars I got kind hospitality from the staff and great wine, what more can one ask for?

Cooper and Holly welcomed us into their cozy tasting room upon arrival! We read about their award winning Pinot Noirs and the 3 –2012 and 2013 we tasted were delicious! Their Syrah and Throne were also exceptional. Love the multi– generational family energy behind this winery! Cooper was sharing that he was in the vines since he was 11 years old and he hasn’t «worked» since — it’s for the love of creating delicious wines year over year. Beautiful property around the tasting room– from a bocce ball court to covered dining area for hosted events to their veggie garden where the 12+ ft high wine goddess resides.

We had a very enjoyable experience here on a quiet Sunday afternoon. We were treated to a full on tasting and really liked their Pinot Noir. This is a small family run winery and tasting room. It is not in the heart of downtown Healdsburg, but in a warehouse area with several other wineries. If you don’t know it is there, you will never find it unless someone recommends it. Give it a try and you will be happy you did!

We came here during the barrel tasting in 2014. Their Barrel futures were okay. However, their Pinot at the bar was absolutely exceptional. The service was amazing and extremely friendly. When you combine great service with great wine you get a five star review.

My partner and I went to Davis Family Vineyards last August after we moved to Healdsburg, about a three minute walk from this winery. We used our Sonoma Passport, which I believe gave us a discount on purchased wines(and the tastings were free with a two-bottle purchase). Overall, the wines were very nice. As many mentioned the Pino was excellent. However, the lady pouring our wine was not very friendly. We got on the topic of how we had just moved to Healdsburg, and she asked why. When I said that we moved here because I got a job teaching, she replied with something along the lines of the fact that teachers don’t make much money. It was rather awkward. This was made worse by the fact that she hardly paid attention to us, but kept laughing and talking to the couple next to us. It was not busy, and I kept getting the feeling that she just assumed that we wouldn’t be purchasing anything(although we did). We have visited many wineries more than a few times since living in Healdsburg, but not this one. The good wines don’t make up for feeling extremely uncomfortable in this place.

This is a small, family run operation, and it feels like a small, happy, family run business should — just great! Healdsburg is a bit off the beaten path of Napa & Sonoma, but this winery and the town itself are well worth the ride. There is plenty to do/see/shop, and one can even kayak down the Russian River and end your day here for a tasting before moving on to dinner at one of Healdsburg’s many excellent restaurants. Guy Davis is a terrific winemaker and works his magic on a number of varietals — red and white — so you’ll be sure to find something that your taste buds like. Some of the fruit comes from family owned vineyards and some is sourced from other growers. Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet, Riesling and Zinfandel are among the bottlings. Apart from wines, the vineyard also produces olive oil and apple brandy. As an aside, Guy Davis was hired as the winemaker for Guy Fieri’s(Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) new label. If you can get your hands on the Old Vine Zin… just leave enough for me.

Friend who lives in the area had recommended Davis Family, so glad I finally checked it out. It’s located a few blocks off the main square. Walking in, you can tell they are all about the wine. Lot’s of barrels and bottles all over the place, instead of like the tacky places in Napa where all you see is cups, cheeses, shirts, and everything else they are trying to sell with their logo on it. The wines themselves are wonderful. The have a few whites as well as some reds. All small production, and all really good. The Pinots and Syrahs were my favorites.

Wines here are quite good. Whites were tasty and their Zin and Syrahs were pretty awesome. Tasting was $ 10 and comped with a purchase. We enjoyed a bottle and lunch over a game of bocce ball. Davis was worth the stop and highly recommend it!

Wonderful tasting. We lucked into tasting the full array of pinot noir, which might usually be reserved for wine club members. Ask ahead about this because the pinots were the stars. Our group really loved all 5, which made for some hard decisions. Lexi was very friendly, especially once she realized we were serious about tasting and buying. The only downside is the less than scenic locale and the tasting bar as the only option – both worth overlooking.

Love the wines! Add that to a casual and fun tasting experience — double bonus! Love Guy’s Pinots, Old Vine Zin, and I’m excited to try the Rousanne/Marsanne blend we just picked up! Definitely a must stop if you’re in the area!

You rock my world, Davis! I’d bathe in your wines if it wasn’t weird. The Davis Family knows a thing or five about Pinot. Pinot is my favorite varietal so I’ve been around the wine tasting block. If Davis was a monopoly game, they’d be Park Place. Love their wines, love the service and love everything else about this fabulous establishment.

Had a great Rhone style from the barrel. It was really good. We went to this one as part of the barrel tasting weekend. Had a ton of wines and they were all really good. They have a wide variety. Didn’t buy any from here.

My boyfriend and I visited this place a few weeks ago and I’m usually not a big reviewer but this place definitely deserves it. Davis Family Vineyards is Awesome. If you’re looking to taste great wines from knowledgeable people in a not so snooty environment, then you have to try Davis. We had our tastings from Lexi and she was the best. Not only did she know everything about Davis Family vineyards and their wine. The experience was very educational and so fun. She had us try a pinot from the same year with grapes grown in different regions(east to west) and then had us point out the differences. It was really unlike any tasting experience I’ve had. Sort of a palette challenge, if you will. ;) If what interests you about tasting involves discovering the nuances in the wine, and enjoying yourself in a cozy setting, with great people then you’ll love Davis as much as I did!

Review of the tasting room: The winery is very small but personal. $ 5-million French château? No way. The winery is a warehouse. We didn’t really care(don’t have to be wowed by mega-estates but just good tasting experiences). This place doesn’t have boutique winery hipster appeal so if you’re looking for that, go elsewhere. The pourer we talked to works in the field with the winemaker; she said that they all wear many hats. We loved the wines but didn’t take any home. We also had some cheese with our wines. The pinot noir is their flagship grape and we loved the wine. The Chardonnay was served at a bone-chilling temperature.

This is by far, my favorite place for wine tasting in sonoma county. Once you pay homage to the wine Goddess and her garden(which you should), trundle on into the tasting room. There you will be warmly greeted by a beautiful curved table which is a replica of the nearby Russian River. Behind the table, just out of sight are barrels. On the walls are bright, jewel toned art work. And behind the counter is Lexi: a friendly, very knowledgeable but unpretentious treasure. Oh…and the wines are excellent too. My favorites are their bone-dry rose and the D’or pinot noir. Also, their olive oil is among the very best I have ever tasted. Get some. Better yet. Send me some. So leave the big, industrial, mondavish tasting rooms to the masses. Come hang out with Davis Family where the wine is luscious, the people are great, and the relationships and re pore you build, long lasting.

It’s easy to drive past Davis Family Vineyards. They’re one of the first stops off Front St, and their driveway comes up quick. The easiest way to find them is to look for the giant purple statue of the Wine Goddess. In fact, just drive around in the neighborhood, and if you’re meant to sample these fine wines, you’ll feel the calling. I came here with 3 friends today at the end of an afternoon driving through Sonoma wine country. We made a handful of stops along the way, and tasted a series of wines. By far, the best — both in wine and in experience — was here at Davis Family Vineyards. We were warmly welcomed by Lexie, and immediately initiated into the tasting flight, which began with a Rhone-style white blend, followed by a Rose, a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and a Cabernet. All of the wines I tasted were quality. All of them are wines I would drink again. In particular, the Pinot and the Cab caught our collective tasting fancy. One of the best parts of the tasting was the accompaniment: fresh bread, house-made olive oil, and Cowgirl Creamery cheese. Some tasting rooms give out crackers, or water. Where else do you get fancy cheese along with your education in fine wine? Don’t come expecting lush, manicured grounds with breathtaking countryside views. The vineyards themselves are not here(but the tasting room is one side of the barreling room). Instead, you’ll find friendly and knowledgeable staff, an amazing olive oil produced by the vineyard alongside their wines, and a casual atmosphere absent from the tasting rooms at the larger Sonoma wineries.

Class! I had the good fortune to attend a wine tasting at DFV last Saturday. Wow, was I impressed! I was involved with an event being held on the property and was simply enchanted by the hospitality, knowledge and quality wine being provided by the entire Davis Family & their team. My personal«Fav’s» included the 2006 Cabernet, Pinot Noir, and the Chardonnay! I returned home with bottles of each!(Wine Club here I come!) Alexis in the tasting room thoroughly impressed me with her knowledge and cordiality! I would confidently recommend the Davis’ & their wine to anyone who appreciates really great wine without pretense! My experience was so positive that I’ll purchase additional bottles to share with others! Well done Guy, Judy & Cole! Thank you for your hospitality!
