The setting, the people, the wine. It’s everything you hope it will be. Thank you Chris and Sandy for your gracious hospitality and kindness. I look forward to my next visit – it can’t come soon enough.

Excellent wine, great people and a beatiful new facility. We came. We tasted. We joined the wine club. Now here is my confession. We have followed Chris Russi, the winemaker, through a few wineries and have seen how how he treats the grapes and coaxes the best from them. Many appellations are represented from Russian River and Rockpile to Sonoma Coast, Dry Creek and Alexander Valley. I loved all the wines. The Zinfandel and Pinot Noir are my favorites. When you come for a tasting check out the very old olive trees. I have never seen any like that.

I recently was invited to attend an event at the winery that included a tour led by the wine maker, Chris Russi. We were fortunate enough to be visiting during harvest season, so we were not only learning about the wine making process, the experience included a peak inside two containers of Cabernet and Merlot grapes going through the fermentation process. Talk about bringing to life the«grape to glass» concept. I was delighted to learn the winery is attracting visitors by hosting special events such as Pizza, wine and Bocce nights as well as morning yoga and brunch sessions. The wines are approachable; priced under $ 50. It’s a nice addition to the Dry creek valley.

Late review! This place is awesome!!! All the wines were excellent, the vibe of the place is super chill and laid back and the people working there are friendly. It’s a cool place to go with friends, play some games and drink some wine. What else could you want?!?

Comstock Wines is our new favorite Dry Creek Winery. This brand new winery is now processing their first harvest on site, but no worries. Winemaker Chris Russi has been making wine for them offsite for a few years. We have to admit, we’ve followed Chris from winery to winery over the years. His impact on the product at each of his past wineries was quite remarkable and at Comstock, he’s continuing to exceed expectations. The wines are truly fabulous. The new facility is positively gorgeous, the staff is helpful, informative, and friendly, and(as mentioned) the wines are fantastic. We suggest you give them a try. Over the years, we’ve belonged to a lot of winery«Wine Clubs». At our peak we belonged to 8. Lately we’ve cut back. Comstock is now one of our Three wine clubs and we’re glad we joined! Not only for the wine, they also have a wide range of events: from Yoga on the lawn, «Wine Bocce, & Pizza», Blending Seminars, a «Sommeliers» Sensory Tasting Experience, and many more.

Got to taste all the current wine at a Unilocal winery event. Comstock hosted us for a show & tell of the winery. Educational and entertaining. This brand new start-up has an impressive facility in size and capacity. Surprisingly good tasting wine for a new producer. All the varietals have a fruit forward, low tannin flavor profile which is quite enjoyable. Many other wineries in the Dry Creek AVA make zinfandels. They are usually too hot in alcohol and way too tannic. Comstock’s zinfandel is neither of those. It’s a really quaffable Zin. Prices range form the mid $ 20’s to the high of $ 48 for the pinot noir. Production as of Oct 2015 is merely several hundred cases per varietal. The Comstock license allows for 35,000 cases annually. So expect big, great things in the future.

Salute! Great new winery in the town of Healdsburg. The winery is beautiful. Love the covered wide hallway that leads to an open space with patio seating and colorful orange umbrellas and where you can engage in a game of bocce or cornhole toss. As you make your way towards the back, the wine tasting room is to your left. This winery has not been open long. Though brand new their calendar of events and tours are readily open and available for sign-ups. We had a a chance to tour the winery last weekend led by Chris Russi. With our 2013 Sauvignon Blanc in hand, Chris gave us a tour of their 17-acre estate, gave a little history and spoke of winemaking techniques as we made our way to the vineyards, to the crush pad, and the winemaking cellars. We were able to take a peek inside two containers of fermenting Cabernet and Merlot grapes. Pretty cool as I’ve never seen grapes in this stage of winemaking before. Chris is the winemaker and he is very passionate about the wines at Comstock. Aside from tours and wine tasting of their signature wines did you know that they also offered yoga? and after the hour-long class, you will enjoy a refreshing glass of Sauvignon Blanc and continental breakfast on the patio. Might be something new to try next time! Chris and the hospitality team of Comstock made our Sunday afternoon here a 5-Star experience! Thank you so much!

Came here on what were told was their grand opening weekend — they had bocce ball, small bites, and happy people all about! The place is very spacious and so pretty. I was very pleasantly surprised that their Sauvignon blanc that we started with was delightful! I normally am very anti — SB. The tasting room itself definitely had a new vibe, but their wines had good developed flavor — I only wish they had more! I look forward to returning to this place in a the future when they’ve developed their Siena bit more, but will definitely recommend it :)

The tasting room manager was very rude and not welcoming. This is a big production winery with people working for them that do not care about the product they are just collecting a pay check. The wine was ok, nothing special. It was typical large production.

Impressive!!! —Amazing wines, gorgeous estate grape vines, stunning winery and top notch hospitality by Cory!!! I was the 95th person to join the wine club! Comstock is going to plant a little«founders club» vineyard and put a name plaque on vine if you’re in the first 100 club members! So exciting!!! Thank you Cory, I can’t wait to come back and bring my friends!

So we’ve been watching the construction of this new site as we drive down Dry Creek and were excited to see balloons and a sign waver out front welcoming people in during Passport weekend. The vibe and energy was great from the moment we walked in. As construction is still underway, the tasting and food were being hosted in the barrel room. We were even more surprised to find out that this was their SECONDDAY serving their wines at the facility. We fell in love with all of their wines(Sauv Blanc, Chard, Zin and Cab) at first taste and fell in love with their staff just as quickly. Chris the winemaker, Rodney the Director of Operations, Kelly the GM and Annika from the hospitality team were all so much fun. We are proud to be wine club member #15. Local or visitor, you should definitely pop in and give them a try!
