Being born and raised in the wine country I can be very picky about where I wine taste and where I recommend friends visiting the wine country to wine taste. That being said, Cartograph is one of my go to tasting rooms in Healdsburg! I can not say enough good things about this place! First of all, the wines are outstanding through and through. They specialize in Pinot and I could drink the Floodgate every day, they are all amazing! Not to mention the rose and gewürztraminer are both dry, incredible whites that I love to enjoy in the summer. You really can’t go wrong with any of them! The staff at Cartograph is an outstanding team who go above and beyond in their tasting room to make you feel welcome and accommodated. They are so knowledgeable about their wines and are clearly passionate about what they are doing! All in all, Cartograph is a fantastic place to visit for a delightful glass of wine and fantastic company :)

My friends an I had a great tasting at Cartograph Wines. There was a group of 11 of us and we didn’t make a reservation. They weren’t willing to give each of us a tasting, which was understandable, but they did agree to do 6 tastings so we just shared. The employees are really friendly and the story behind their wines and the name of the winery is interesting. There is limited seating but they have a beautiful space in the back with a table that accommodates about 10 people. There is also a lounge seating area that seats about 4 – 5. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend it for a casual tasting.

Would be a 5, but we were charged a tasting fee, even though we bought a bottle of wine. Maybe that’s their policy, but if so, wouldn’t have purchased the wine. Great Pinot noir wine, but disappointed in the tasting fee. The owner poured for us and was very nice

Shout out to Todd — the most knowledgable wine expert in all of Healdsburg. We had the good fortune of coming in during a lull in the middle of a Sunday. We had the tasting room to ourselves and were able to pick Todd’s brain at our leisure. If anyone has seen the movie Somm, we got a crash course in the«Theory» section of the test(and some notes about taste molecules after a few glasses). While learning a good deal, we were also treated to some great wines! We ended up with a Gewürztraminer but had our eye on a couple others as well. The tasting room does not have the vineyard views of some other Healdsburg options, but it is definitely worth the trip. They have later hours available than other tasting rooms which makes it a great pre-dinner spot. The label also has a great story behind it that you can hear about during your pours.

We visited Healdsburg today and stopped in at the Chamber. The lady there was awesome and she gave us recommendations for places to drink wine and eat food. She gave us complimentary tasting cards for Cartograph so we stopped in. The lady told us the cards were just marketing things and wanted to charge us for the tastings even though printed on the cards was«complimentary tasting for one». Who cares what their wines taste like — with service like that I will NEVERBEBACK!

For a Pinot Noir lover like myself, this tasting room was utterly heaven. Alan was so knowledgeable and had a pleasant personality. I wish I could buy a hundred bottles of each Pinot Noir I tasted!

Wines were average. Staff was stuffy. Great location! I love Healdsburg. We had a subpar experience. I would much rather patronize Banshee wines.

I like wine– bottles, glasses, tastings I love it all! This place has so many things going for it. Love the space, loved the employees, the blue sofa to relax while enjoying a glass. Yes yes yes! I left with 4 bottles and will definitely be back!

Had a great tasting experience here last weekend. I love that their wines are on tap. Every question we asked was answered. Plenty of knowledge in the tasting room. Plus, their wines are fantastic. The tasting room is not quite my style since it’s so stark but at least it’s clean and spacious. If my friends weren’t already club members here I’d probably have to join myself.

The last winery on my jaunt through Napa and Sonoma, I was pretty impressed with this small place in Healdsburg. The people working the tasting room are really great to chat with, I enjoyed spending a bit of time with both of them. The décor of the place is very impressive, very polished. The tasting fee was $ 10 which I thought was very reasonable and they poured a couple of their whites and a couple of their reds. The whites were different than most Sonoma wineries… a Riesling and a Gewürztraminer, much more what I’m used to coming from upstate NY. I was impressed, there were both well composed, not too sweet, and had a nice acidity. They could have both used a bit more minerality, but overall, some solid wines. The pinots they tasted were also quite good; not the best I had in Sonoma, but certainly nothing to scoff at.

I had a great experience doing a walk-in wine tasting here. They were knowledgeable, friendly and the wines were delicious. The pricing is very reasonable, and we walked away with a few bottles. Next time, I’d really like to do their pinot tasting experience, which apparently walks you through the entire process of making pinot noir. Prices are fair. No food pairings available.

This place was incredibly cool. The layout was so clean and polished, much like an Apple product, it’s minimal vibe was a breath of fresh air. Our pourer was nice and knowledgeable. The rose of pinot noir and the mendocino ridge pinot noir blew me away. If you’re into pinot noirs, definitely check this place out!

Stopped in after seeing the amazing reviews and all I can say is Cartograph did not disappoint! This was by far the best tasting room experience we have had in Healdsburg. We were lucky enough to do our tasting with Alan the wine maker which made for the most informative and lovely tasting. His wines are exceptional and I fell in love with his bone dry white and rose. Loved everything we tasted and left as wine club members. Cartograph is not one to miss!

I first met Alan, the Winemaker/co-owner, shortly after he moved from MN to SF to pursue his dream of winemaking. We’ve stayed in touch ever since, and I’ve selected his wines for several of my wine club shipments. So to see the success of this fellow entrepreneur is inspiring. They’ve just taken a big step up with their sleek new tasting room. Ask about the private table in the back, suitable for groups up to 10, from the looks of it. Or take your tasting as you sit looking out the front window and watch the fashionista tourists mix with the local grapegrowers. Or sink into one of the modern couches and taste there. Of course you can always just belly up to the bar, like at any other tasting room. But why be in such a hurry? And the wines. Single-vineyard pinots are the headliners here, as well as a surprisingly crisp rose of pinot noir. The Gewurz is well worthy of note, and fans of the grape will be impressed. Given that only 4% of wine sold in America is over $ 20, these wines are pricey by comparison, but well within the price range for today’s pinots. Stylistically, Alan and Serena prefer that the wine express its place of origin, letting the fruit take the lead with oak in the supporting role as the spice cabinet.

Cartograph used to share a tasting room with another winery at ‘Garagiste Healdsburg’ and just re-opened this gorgeous new space, next door to Zin restaurant. The tasting room is beautiful, spacious, and well appointed, but the wine and the hospitality are the real reason to visit. — one of the best Gewürztraminer you will find in CA, from Russian River Valley — an amazing rose’ of Pinot Noir — a selection of balanced, well made, Pinot Noir from Russian River and Anderson Valley. In the growing plethora of tasting rooms in downtown Healdsburg, this is one of the ones you can’t miss.

Our favorite kind of wines are the ones made by hard working, down to earth friendly owners. Of course, the wines have to be good. At Cartograph you get all that. Alan & Serena are in the tasting room often and are always happy to talk about their single vineyard Pinot Noirs along with their Gewurtztraminer and rosé. There’s an up and coming batch of winemakers who are leading California’s new generation– these guys are part of that movement. As if that wasn’t enough to like, their location right off the square makes visiting easy. Hope you like it as well.
