I’ve only had their steak tacos and I love it. If you order the deluxe tacos, they use fresh tortilla(you can see them taking out the dough, pressing it, and heating it on the hot plate) and avocado! At just $ 1.79 each deluxe taco(the regular taco is about 40⁄50 cents cheaper, but smaller and the tortilla is pre-made), I eat two and I’m satiated. Cheap and delicious lunch! And you know it’s pretty darn authentic when most people who walk in and order are Hispanic! The 4 star is for the inconsistent ingredient(and service) that goes into my order(sometimes I get side beans/rice, other times I get tomatoes, and still other times, I get nothing else!).

Sol Azteca wasn’t always a market. before it was a discounter of cheap .99 cent goods geared to the latino market. now this locale houses a combination mercado(groceries), carniceria(butcher shop) and taqueria with a small parking lot. only tried the taqueria, just glanced at the other 2 small entities. the taqueria is entered via the door on the left. go a few steps, take a left and you see the carniceria directly ahead. the taqueria is to the left. menu: tamales(1.59),. tacos(1.39) camaronnes de diablo et al(9.99) burritos(4.50) aqua fresca(1.59) sampling: –carna asada burrito(4.50): good sized, meat tender and not gristly, kind of salty. rice kind of mushy. but everything is fresh and nothing tasted off key. choice of mild or spicy salsa. grilled onions and jalepanas provided. frijoles refritoes: –very friendly service by young latina. –improvised salsa bar nearby. -«steamtable» options for most menu items. relatively cheap. –burrito above average, thus 4 stars. nothing outstanding though. –parking lot not easy to access. may be clogged during peak hours. –between hwy 880 and mission blvd. on a st.
