Montague Does NOT Stand behind their product. I have been a chef for many years and now a restaurant owner for the past 13 years. I built out a new restaurant space 2 years ago and purchased ALL of my kitchen ranges, ovens, salamanders, cook tops and grill from Montague. After being open for 18 months my Montague built fryer caught on fire from the rear of the cabinet which is totally inaccessible for cleaning. I called Montague to have a representative look at it. He came out and inspected it and couldn’t find a problem and basically said it wasn’t Montague’s fault that we were not cleaning it. We maintain very high standards of cleaning and my kitchen is immaculate and I also service and maintain all of my equipment regularly. I called a plumber and removed the fryer and scraped all of the grease off the back and reinstalled it. 6 months later the fryer bursts into flames again. I called Montague once again and was given the run around and that when THEY got time they would send someone out again. I have now been waiting 2 weeks without a fryer for someone to look at it from Montague and I have left several messages with no return calls. I’ve now called a sheet metal company that does commercial kitchen fabrication and they have said the leak is in the cabinet and installed incorrectly. Since Montague will not stand behind a fryer that I paid over $ 6,000 for and is only 2 years old I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau.
