I went to the one on B street in Hayward. Their food is pretty okay! But the customer service sucks. One of the girl working there told me to leave if I’m not going to buy anything. I understand if that’s your rule but the way she applied it was very rude. I was waiting for a friend to meet me here for dinner so I go inside to sit. And it had been more than 30 mins of me waiting for her(she was running really late) that a young lady came up to me and said that I had to leave if I’m not ordering anything. She came of really rude and I did not feel welcome. Also, know that I had just got off from an all day shift at work so I was incredibly tired and exhausted and it was freezing outside so having to hear that was very upsetting. I work in a restaurant as well but I know to say these things nicely because even if someone is not buying something or just waiting; they could tomorrow. And you should at least smile at them. So after the young lady asked me to leave, I immediately left and decided to have dinner at another restaurant with my friend. I will not be coming here again. I understand why she said it but the way she said it was completely rude.

Decent food but they have some weird rules that take their review down, Once asked them to put on the warriors game only to be told they had a limited channel lineup that they were allowed to change the tv too. Want anything special? Be prepared for a No answer. Went tonight and asked for extra tamarindo sauce on my tamarindo sandwich and was told sorry the Chefs said he would not do it not even for an extra fee they just won’t squirt a little more sauce on. Can I get it on the side? No Even though last 2 times it wasn’t a problem Watched the chef make the tamarindo sandwich and 3 of 5 jalapeño slices fell off when flipping the condiment side on top of the other half and the chef looked at them and just keep going leaving just 2 peppers on the whole sandwich. After the no extra sauce rule I was scared to ask for jalapeños. Salsa’ are average salsa bar. Love the shrimp tacos. The pastor is good too. If you stick to the basics and aren’t a warriors fan this is a 4⁄5 spot if you want great service great chefs this is not for you. Edit: Metro did contact me and will look into fixing the above issues. I will go back and will update my review based on further experiences.

The food is absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend their tamales, tacos, and quesadillas! So yummy. The meat is seasoned very well. Also, the staff was very friendly. 2 thumbs up!

I am kind hooked on the tacos here. I love that they serve Niman Ranch meat which is supposedly grass-fed! At least that’s what a counter top sign claims. The menu says they serve certified angus beef. Hmmm… which is it?! The staff had no idea. The salsa bar is Ahhhmazing –I like pretty much all of the salsas-from hot, chunky, mango, green. There are plenty of drink options. They have regular soda, cold Jarritos and Mexican coke, beer on tap or in a bottle, and juices like tamarindo, horchata, and Jamaica. Besides tacos they have burritos, bowls, salads, tortas, steak fries, ceviche, enchiladas, tamales and quesadillas. I had the cheese quesadilla twice and loaded with salsa it is pretty scrumptious. I like that it’s not overly large or oozing cheese and it isn’t greasy. It has a satisfying crispness to the tortilla and the cheese is tasty. There is also flan for dessert. Plus there are breakfast platters of burritos with cage free eggs. And last but not least they have 100% fresh fruit and vegetable juice. The tacos have me and my better half drooling. I stick to the carne Asada, he ventured a couple other kinds of meat. All got big thumbs up. Seriously I am hooked. I don’t care that it’s a fast-casual place. The tacos speak for themselves and they are mad tasty morsels. Price isn’t bad either. Basically I could just stay here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and pretend that eating everything on the menu will make me more fluent in Spanish ;)

I’ve eaten at the Metro on «A Street» & have been a fan of this local taqueria. The food is always fast, fresh and delicious. Always end up grabbing fresh tacos(pollo & carne asada) are the best. Also for sea food fans, the«Baja«fish taco is delicious and packed with all the goods, they definitely don’t hold back on toppings. Grabbed a modelo to sip on while waiting on my tacos. And the best is the condiment bar packed with fresh salsas, pickled vegetables, etc.

Location is very convenient. You can walk right into the movie theaters and there is a yogurt and crêpe café spot across the way. Food: I had the lengua traditional and carne asada tacos and one of their fresh juices. The juice was perfect. The tacos were eh. The tortillas were a bit hard and oiled up and it was a lot more tortilla then meat. Also, the condiment area(salsas, lemons etc) had to be restocked and cleaned/wiped up. Probably will not be going back for the tacos but being that it’s so convenient I might go in for a fresh juice or try another item on the menu before heading into the movies.

The Metro Bowl is everything! Make sure you get light beans and extra chicken! The staff is pretty helpful. And Im glad that it is walking distance from my crib!

I actually like this spot quite a bit. Some people may complain because it’s not a «traditional Mexican restaurant», but their food always hits the spot for me. However, I did find their original tacos a bit disappointing. They were really small. You could easily grab 2 of them with just one hand. On the other hand, they did put a lot of meat on them(I ordered the carnitas tacos). The supreme quesadilla with carne asada and a Negra Modelo on tap is my go to meal. Hasn’t failed me, yet. This is a good place to just come in, grab some good solid food, and go. You’re not gonna see any weird decorations, no waiters, or anything like that. Just come in, eat some good food, and go from there.

I’ve been here a few times while running errands in this part of town, and I always get the burrito bowl with grilled chicken. I can’t comment on the other food, but the burrito bowl is really good. The pico de gallo they use has pieces of mango in it. Amazing! The salsa bar also meets my standards. There’s a good variety of salsas to choose from. I do remember one time I wanted to get my burrito bowl without meat and just with grilled vegetables. It’s an option on the menu, but the cashier told me I couldn’t do that. Huh? What’s the big deal with getting it vegetarian style? It’s an option on the menu! I thought this was sort of weird, but one time there were these two chicks there promoting Modelo beer. They were going around telling customers to buy a Modelo so they can get a free glass. Um, that’s kind of tacky. This is one of the few places in Hayward where I can get fresh Mexican food that isn’t greasy. There’s no need to have Modelo girls pushing people to buy their cheap beer. That’s my personal opinion though

Great food. Decent price for how much you get. Even when busy it does not take long to get food.

I’m giving this place 5 starts not only because the food I had is very flavorful and delicious, but also because they have several options for my vegetarian diet. Their grilled veggie burrito is where it’s at! I couldn’t find this burrito anywhere else! Normally I’d have to adjust my diet at other restaurants, not here! Loving them, will have to bring my wife next time.

DELICIOUSMEXICANFOOD, FASTANDREASONABLY-PRICED, JUSTLIKEITSSISTERRESTAURANTON «A» STREET. I love this place! It is only steps away from my favorite pub, and provides great food and an incredible salsa bar. Sorry, Unilocal! Not much to add. I have had tacos, burritos, flautas, chips and guacamole, and lots of other stuff there, and loved all of it. If you like fresh, delicious, Mexican food and you are in or near downtown Hayward, this is a cool place to go.(ANDYOUCANTAKEYOURBAGOFFOODTOTHEBISTROANDGETSOMEAMAZINGBEERSANDALESTOENJOYWITHIT.)

Fresh and authentic Mexican food served in a modern setting with the latest music and sports games on screen. I ordered the crispy fish taco and a Pacifico and was quite satisfied with the flavor and size of my taco. The staff was friendly and the cashier had a great attitude and kept the place nice and clean. Only reason it gets 4 stars is because it’s not bigger. Definitely a must try in Downtown Hayward!

I love this place me and my boyfriend favorite spot to go to after gym or just in general, we are pretty much regulars. The cook is knows what he’s doing and the employees are really nice. I prefer going to this one than the one on A street. Way better.

Tried Metro for the first time and I have to say their food definitely has a wow factor. Went with the standard asada, and pastor tacos to see what they were working with and I was very impressed. The beef was very flavorful and the corn tortillas were as fresh as they come. The pork tacos were equally tasty, though they didn’t come with pineapple like a lot of pastor taco I realize that every taquearía is different. My two cent is that would put that pastor taco on fire status. Great find, and I look forward to going back.

I came here with my fiancé after work. This place is very nice, it reminds me of Chipotle with the way they decorated inside. The menu is pretty straight forward for a taqueria. I ordered a burrito with steak and my girl ordered a torta with chicken and fries. My burrito was tasty and fairly filling but didn’t satisfy me as much as I anticipated. The torta was decent but not full of flavor. The fries were good, but it’s kinda hard to screw up fries. They seem to have a decent selection of beer at a good price. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Metro and I plan on going back to try some of there other dishes.

Conveniently located right in the hub of downtown Hayward, Metro Taquero is a wonderful addition to the mix. I love their sloppy, indulgent steak fries. I was a little worried when I saw the liquid cheese, but it’s a cheddar cheese sauce much tastier than the usual nacho cheese sauce. Indoor and outdoor seating. My favorite Mexican beer, Negra Modelo, is offered both by the bottle and on tap. Draft beer is served at a great price!

We were going to visit a friend at his work but were STARVING. Saw this place a few doors down and decided to give it a try since he said he comes here for Taco Tuesdays. This isn’t your typical«taqueria.» I would say it’s more Americanized fast food style. You order at the register and wait for your number to be called. What’s nice is that they have a good selection at their salsa bar! Their traditional tacos are the small ones, and by small, I mean you can finish one in 3 bites. The tortillas are super crispy though, which I liked. Both the Carne Asada and Pollo Asada were dry. Thank goodness for the salsa though because that saved them. I guess it’s a good thing they’re kinda dry so it allows you to create your own level of flavor?

My boyfriend and I came here while staying in the Bay Area. Our hotel was in Hayward one of the times we were there and Downtown Hayward was close, so we decided to go there one night for dinner and a movie after my boyfriend got off work. Metro Taquero was right next door to the theater and had an appealing menu. My boyfriend ordered a couple of tacos and I ordered a burrito. Both came with their standard fillings(meet, cheese, guacamole, salsa, etc). Prices here were average, our meals came to about $ 15 for both. There was nothing remarkable about my food. It wasn’t great, but not bad either. Good enough to fill me up though. Staff here was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. There’s ample seating both inside and outside. I am not sure I’d come here again, but it’s worth a try if you want a quick bite to eat before a movie. Cheers!
