This place is really the only small business donut shop we have in Hayward, so it kills me to have to give such a low rating but it is necessary. I used to go here all the time when I was a kid, and stopped due to the surrounding environment outside the place. I used to experience A LOT of harassment from bystanders. It eventually got overwhelming that I just stopped going. Recently however, my mother asked me to pick up some donuts for her, since she had been calling all morning and they did not answer their phone. This time, the harassment was filled with looks but inside of Edna’s I was unable to get anything because they were out of everything at 7AM. This seemed really inconvenient because the person working could not give me any answer as to when he would get more donuts. He just repeated that they didn’t have what I needed. They are EXTREMELY short staffed and need to consider hiring at least one other person, especially on a busy weekday morning.

This place makes great donuts and the coffee is good. Day laborers frequent the place and hangout in the front. They seem like hard working descent folk and have never had a problem. Definitely worth coming to.

I went on Friday Morning to get my kids some donuts. I’ve never been here because it looked so dirty. But this was the closest to my house, so I went. The place was packed, MENONLY, lol. The person helping was a little rude. I was there first but was asking who’s next… like. HELLO I’m the first here in line… then was rushing me when I asked how much a dozen donuts would be. There’s a sign but it was difficult to read. Never am I going there again.

There’s a reason why this place has been in business for as long as I can remember. A mainstay in the South Hayward-Tennyson part of town and they have the rep, product, and service to back it up. Donuts are amazingly good. Coffee is strong, hot, and cheap. They have amazing breakfast sandwiches and small meal items to go with it. If you’re asian, go play their lottery/keno games. Yay! I’m a fan.

Usually come to Ednas after work for either a glazed donut or a ham and cheese croissant. The donuts and croissants are always fresh and the prices are cheap. There are usually a lot of day workers hanging around the donut shop, so if your bothered by that I wouldn’t suggest coming here, especially early in the morning. But I greatly enjoy the donuts and will continue to come here as long as I am living in Hayward.

A: wesome W:onderfully great E:xtra moist centers S:eriously, you cant get any better than this O:mg… this is the coolest place ever! M:an, this place is soooooooooooo cheap! E:dnas is sooo cheap only 75 cents a donut and 1.00 for six donut holes! i would really reccomend this place. although it may look ghetto due to the many men(typically latino) looking for jobs, dont be alarmed because they are either friendly or they dont even talk but they usually wont talk to you. But the donuts are really great and always moist and soft and i actually prefer this over krispy kreme and dunkin donuts.

After 2.5 years… finally stopped by here on the way to work and got a donut… yes… the stacks and stack of day laborers outside can be a bit intimidating, but alas, it was uneventful except for the donuts, which were good. I’m not typically a donut kinda guy, and I hope for my health that I don’t become one, but I think I might have been safer NOT knowing how good these were.

Really good donuts. Hands down, the BEST croissants. Seriously, THEBEST. The location is a little intimidating(harmless group of day laborers loitering outside but lurking, nevertheless.) I would be remiss not warning people, especially smallish women, that it can feel a bit sketchy with a bunch of guys just looking at you. But if you expect it, then it’s not so bad. DELICIOUS donuts and croissants, especially the croissants :) They are so note worthy that I’ll mention them again — big kudos for the croissants! So stay laser focused, keep your eyes on the prize and not the guys hanging around and enjoy one of the best croissants you will ever taste!

I remember this place when I was a kid, and its been the same every since. I love their creamed filled donuts the cream is soo light and fluffy not heavy like the cream you taste at krispy kremes. Their croissants are huge, double the size from the ones you get at Costco!

this shop is located in a decrepit shopping complex once known as superway shopping center?. there were dozens of latino men hanging around. when i got out from my vehicle. i heard: «do you need a laborer?» i wasn’t focused and i didn’t think the question was directed at me. again, i heard: «do you need a laborer? now i saw the lanky young man waving at me. «no». i said, pointing to the donut shop. an asian women(chinese?) poured me a lg coffee(1.40) and asked if i wanted a donut(.65) no, i said regrettaly, looking at the large sized donuts. when i drove down w. tennyson, i literally saw hundreds of latino men idly waiting to be picked as laborers or some charged, as sex objects. where’s the great economy that bush and mccain sees? i don’t see it.
