The food is just ok, but is very convenient for those who work in the complex or who have work lunches.

Best salads around! Everything is always crisp and fresh. I come here at least once a week for the amazing salads. It’s always very busy during the lunch hour (which says a lot right there) but service is never slow. I’d definitely recommend this place!

The food here is pretty good. The place is clean and the owner is pretty cool. Definitely a good place to grab some lunch and breakfast. their breakfast burritos and their salad wraps are pretty good too!

I would say this is an average sandwich shop with other hot plate lunch items. I have not had the chance to try the hot items but their sandwiches are okay. I’m a big believer in whole leaf lettuce for sandwiches– this place does not offer that so in my book it’s a bit below ok.
Everything else has been ok-​good on their sandwiches. Mostly I come here if I am in the area and want a sandwich. I would say there has to be a better place locally but I have not had that chance to explore.

This was probably one of the best BLTA croissant sandwiches I’ve ever had. The croissant was buttery and flakey. The bacon was crispy but not greasy. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and they put the right amounts of mayo. They could have put more avocado but whatever. It was 6 plus tax plus tip. Great lunch!
Also my lunch date liked his Cesar salad wrap with added bacon! We love bacon

This is a pretty good place, food is good and they are fast, but what I like the most are the people. Everyone here is super nice and interacts with you as if you are a person not just a customer getting food. Place is clean with plenty of space to sit. The only down fall is that they do close the grill little too early so if you come in at 2 you can’t get any thing hot off the grill. Other than that, food is great and service is great :)

Love this spot. Great service. Great food. I work pretty much right next door, so that’s a plus (For me!). David and his crew have it right!!!

Does the San Mateo bridge traffic suck this morning? Why fight it? Pull off and have a decent breakfast, do a little work, watch a little news and enjoy free wi-​fi and comfy seats at Bay City Bistro. It’s my go to place and I’d love to see them get more morning traffic. Nice folks, really clean and nice atmosphere. Check it out.

Came here a couple of times and have not been impressed. It was my mistake and forgetting so I ordered some variation of the chicken salad twice. Both times, chicken was very dry.

This is my go to place during lunch when I can decide in what to eat. They have sandwiches, salads, wraps and burgers. The make fresh soup daily. They have also added a vegan/​vegetarian items to their menu. They are responsible price and pretty quick on getting the food out.

I love this place! I have tried multiple sandwiches, the quesadilla and the gyro… all super amazing. I usually pick up my orders to go, but they have a huge dining room too. The service is always in point and super friendly. Get the potato salad, it’s delicious!!!

This place is awesome! The place is super clean. David and Sam always give the best customer service and super friendly. ale sure to come a little before noon or else you’ll be waiting in line for a bit. Try there new strawberry salad. My go to order is the turkey burger with extra pesto. I live this place.

I believe the best things in this place are really their fresh ingredients. I have been here twice and just today I ordered Triple Decker; has ham, turkey, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato with triple stacked sour doughs. It looks like a plain sandwich, but the taste is really incredible. And again, I believe it is due to their high quality fresh ingredients!
I recommend this place; those fresh ingredients have tendencies to have crisp sounds when you bite into them.

I went to Bay City Bistro today for the first time. My employer just moved to Hayward from Foster City so wanted to check it out since it’s close by. I liked that the place is clean and smelled good. I found it a little strange how it is set up though as I noticed the soup keeping warm on the counter across from the register and, since I didn’t see a sign, lifted the top to see what kind it was. The owner? or worker came up behind me and adjusted the cover as if he was irritated that I lifted it. He then told me what kind of soup it was. That was a bit off putting because if you don’t want people to lift the cover then keep it behind the counter.
I proceeded to look at the chalkboard menu and he recommended something from the grill so I ordered the Pepper Steak to go. I didn’t notice until after I ordered that I had a choice of sides — fries, potato salad, or side salad. I asked for the side salad, but it seemed that they already dropped the fries in the frier. I said it was OK either way, even if I felt that I should have been offered the choice. However, he went back and lifted the fries and I got the side salad.
I took my food back to my office and it was very tasty. Could have used a little more meat for the size roll used, but I won’t complain because the bread was really good and fresh. The salad was larger than I expected and fresh, although next time I will order dressing on the side.
Overall it was a good lunch which is why I give it four stars. Although, I didn’t get a good vibe about the employees as they weren’t overly friendly with me or another guy who came in after. There did also seem to be some friction between the guys in the front and the guys in the kitchen. That won’t stop me from going back again though.

Just went there for the 1^st time. I was surprised it so open, clean with a really good looking, cool chalkboard menu. Started with a basic burger… Very good GRILLED burger. Nice thick fries too. The flat screen tv is a nice touch too.
Nice place to bring a client for a quick meal.

Our office relocated from South San Fran (FOOD GALORE!!) to Hayward :/​where we have to drive a long ways Before we can get some good food!
Found this place by accident and now I come here almost every week!
Food is excellent! And the service is always with a smile! You can even do online ordering if your on the run!
Oh n they have a large dining area to dine in, free wifi and tv! Place is very clean!

Great place. I usually order the Reuben, or the Roast Beef sandwich. The shawrma is pretty good as well.
One thing to note, bc this place is in a business district, the kitchen closes after 2pm so no hot food after that.

Staffs are very nice there and food is not bad, but it certainly lack consistancy. I always order the Salmon Salad because the salmon was poached pretty well. But why is it that it’s often missing avocado when the menu said it contains avocado? There were few times I ordered to go and I forgot to check, thus ended up without it. The other times when I do check, I just had to ask for it after I realize it has none. Also, why is my salmon always varies in size? Sometimes it’s so big, sometimes it’s like two bites worth. The first couple months when I ordered this salad, they gave me half an avocado, now it’s down to ¼ of it.
Also, I try to remember to order my dressing on the side, but one time when I didn’t, the salad was DRENCHED in the dressing. It was disgustingly soggy to the point the lettuce weren’t even crisp anymore, and if I tilt the box sideway, access dressing would fall to the corner. Salad should be dressed, not drowned. It would be nice if the cook would start putting dressing on the side. Oh yeah, and the same day, they forgot my avocado again. That would be the fifth times.
I would still go back for food since it’s so convenient, but some uniformity would help.
