Don’t go to this place! THEYARECLOSED! While we were searching for good Korean restaurant near LAX, we decided to pick this place due to quite some good reviews. Before we left we called during their published business hours to see if we needed reservation, but no answer. We thought maybe they were too busy? The phone was working and there was NO voicemail indicating the closure of business. So when we drove all the way to this restaurant, we saw a handwritten sign on their door saying they were closed(–not the ‘open/closed’ sign but rather an announcement sign). If they were out of business, either permanently or temporarily, shouldn’t they make it clear via voicemail on their phone? This is very bad business practice and they’re closed for a reason.

My dad likes to come to this spot to have lunch once in a while. I wasn’t a big fan, but the last visit changed my mind. I ordered the Bulgogi Beef with a side of kimchee. the beef was full of juicy, delicious flavor and the kimchee was spicy. When I came in before, the meat was dull and the kimchee had no kick to it whatsoever. They also have a complementary barley and roasted corn tea. I’ve never had anything like it, but it is pretty good. If you’re not a big fan of barley, the roasted corn covers it well. I’m glad there were changes; they were for the better. Their place is pretty small with limited seating. The workers are very nice.

I tried this place on a whim because I usually make the trek all the way to Koreatown or Gardena to get Korean food. The décor is nice, and the food is EXCELLENT. I embarrassing paid with all change and the guy at the register was really cool and friendly about it. I ordered the Yook Gae Jang, which is like a spicy beef stew, because it is one of my favorite Korean dishes. You have a choice of spice, 1 being no spice and 5 because melt your face. I got 4, and it was spicy, but the flavor was on point. I noticed they had sweet potato fries with kimchi and spicy pork on them??? I shall return again.

Saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. It’s pretty good Korean food place at a reasonable price. The bi bim bap was tasty but not the greatest. The chicken wings were good as was the gyoza. The guy working the cash register was super friendly and helpful. Overall a good place. Can’t say it was anything super amazing but pretty decent.

I had the BBQ Pork Belly with Hawaiian Style Mac Salad and Kimchi while my gf had the Bibimbap with Cabbage and we tore into them as if someone was about to take it away. So delicious and the amount they give is more than enough. I’ve lived in Hawthorne(Del Aire) for 5 years and never had the luxury of having a legit Korean restaurant so close by – it’s walking distance. The dining area is cozy, will make you feel at home and at ease and the service from the gentleman that helped us was excellent – friendly with a warm smile. Safe to say we’re going to become regulars here.

An almost perfect score for me but the Mac salad was my least favorite & they were really skimpy w/my kimchi(see picture). Next time I will order a different side dish. This home style korean BBQ place hit the spot, the amount of food you get for the price is great. I ordered the Lg. Bugolgi w/a side of Mac & kimchi. I loved the kimchi and the meat was really good, soft and well seasoned. They add onions and the shiitake mushrooms really elevate the dish. I love the fact that they give you a Choco pie for dessert, that’s greatly appreciated. I will definitely be back.

My girlfriend and I have tried the bulgogi beef and pork, the spicy beef stew, and the spicy chicken wings. Dang they’re good! You gotta go. It’s probably not 100% authentic Korean cuisine straight outta Seoul, but good taste is good taste in my book. 5⁄5. My personal favorite is the spicy pork.

At first glance Pojang looks ready to deliver on flavors a korean food amateur expects at a decent price, with a nod or two for cleanliness. But more goodness awaits you in this cozy corner of unexpected Hawthorne foodie haven. The spicy beef stew knocked me right off the vegetarian wagon with a superb broth, and I really appreciated the delicious cabbage substitute for rice. Delicately crispy mandoo and a generously done bibimbap with a nice veggie and mushroom touch would keep coming back every week if I lived anywhere close. If coming into LAX, take a trip to Pojang.

Pretty authentic for being in Hawthorne. I always expect this from Ktown retaurants, but to find something close to home was nice. We were both feel under the weather and wanted soup. Found this place on Unilocal and decided to check it out. I got the New Years soup(dduk gook) and the bf has the spicy beef stew. Both were very good and reminded me of grandma’s cooking. I haven’t had the new years soup since I was younger so the fact that they had it here made me super happy and I had to have it. We were super satisfied and full by the time we were done. The kimchee was absolutely delicious. Perfectly spicy and a little sour which is how I like it. I even bought a little extra to take home. More than anything, the guy at the counter was awesome! Extra friendly and helpful! Food comes with rice and kimchee on the side and a choco pie for dessert! I totally would come back to try the other items! I don’t see this place disappointing us and the guys said they are thinking about selling their kimchee in small containers. I hope they do, cause its Good! So glad we found this place and it’s close to home. It will definitely give me my Korean food fix without having to go to Ktown!

When I’m in the hood, I always crave Asian food — strike that. I’m always craving Asian food. Lucky for me, this place exists. I’ve had the BBQ steak(boneless kalbi I think?), pork belly, and chicken from here. The pork belly was my favorite and the serving portions are massive. I always complain about skimpy portions because of my savage appetite, but no complaints here. Excellent menu, choices, prices, and service. Always served with a chocopie for the end of the meal.

Korean fast food is the best description. Good value for a fair amount of food with ok flavor. my favorite dish out of the many we tried was the pork belly. It was the most flavorful and not dry. My least favorite was the beef stew soup. All I tasted was ground pepper, the broth lacked flavor from the vegetables and shredded beef, maybe a pinch of salt would have helped. The fried wings were my next favorite, though I would have preferred a more spicy sauce. The rice is where they lost me, it was too gummy(too much water in the cooking process) the rest of the food was just ok. Most of the meat dishes could have marinated longer because it lacked the true spiciness I’m use to from korean food, and the steak was very dry(overcooked for me). On the up side, excellent customer service! I love the help yourself to the barley tea and the choco pie for a treat. For a quick affordable meal, in a clean, friendly establishment this place is ok. Will I go back? Probably not. I have other korean restaurants I go to, where I crave their food.

Great modern looking place with great atmosphere. Owners are super nice and the food tastes great. My favorite is the Chicken BBQ plate. If you are around the area and hungry for some good korean food, give it a try. They also have free roasted corn and barley water which I just learned is common in Korea. Went to this place not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised.

I decided to stop in pojang on my way home from work since I didn’t feel like driving all the way to gardena for Korean food and I’m so glad I did! It was about 5:30 pm and I was expecting a huge dinner crowd but there was only a handful of people inside. The gentleman behind the counter was really friendly and the whole restaurant had a great vibe to it, along with a little seating area with couches for to go orders and free tea! The large menu board behind the counter was actually a blackboard and everything was written in chalk which I thought was a really nice touch. They had assorted snack available for purchase by the register like shrimp chips. I decided to get the large bulgogi beef plate and a side of gyoza and I couldn’t wait to get home to try it. The beef itself is really well marinated and the onions are nicely caramelized, however I feel like there wasn’t enough beef and too many mushrooms. The kimchi was delicious and the little egg omelet was pretty good as well. The gyoza was delicious, crispy on the outside and a little juicy meat with vegetables and green onion in the inside. The dipping sauce that came with it was amazing, I couldn’t believe how much flavor it had I could’ve drank it. I loved how they gave a little choco pie with the order, a really cute idea. Overall everything was amazing I will definitely be returning!

My in-the-know co-workers took me to this hidden gem at lunch today. Soooo good!!! Their menu is concise and quality. I feel like there is a Korean grandmother in the back making each dish fresh to order. The generous portions are packed with fresh produce and you can tell great care goes into each slice of green onion and sauté of beef. The gyoza were ridic. Soft but crunchy on the outside and hot and tender on the inside. I recommend dousing with Sriracha! If you like spicy, get the Spicy Beef Stew. I loved their plump rice too — so simple, yet divine.

Lots of food for what you paid for. At least for the bulgogi item. It was huge! Came with rice, meat, kimchi and egg. And a choco pie! I like cheap food that tastes good and comes in big quantity. And this is what it is. And it’s near LAX so it could be a quick meal before heading to the airport. I thought the bulgogi was well marinated. Although, I am more used to kimchi that has leafy vegetables like cabbage. I don’t know what they used but it was chopped something. But still tasted like kimichi overall. This place is highly recommended for on the go or something quick. If you want a full sit down service with even BETTER Korean food, well you will have to go somewhere else.

Unassuming location in Hawthorne. Although I live in the South Bay(more north-west side), this place saves me a trip to Gardena whenever I need my Korean food fix. Pojang is a no frills kinda of place that just sells good home-style Korean food. No side dishes except for the side of radishes that come with some of the dishes. I tried the kimchi fried rice, spicy beef stew, spicy barbeque pork, and some fried chicken wings. Everything was really good, except for the spicy barbeque pork. It was way too spicy and the sauce was a bit too gooey. The kimchi fried rice tasted very nice(just like home) and the fried egg on top really added some home lovin. The spicy beef stew was spot on. Added all of my side of rice in the stew and, oh man, it was just like mama’s cookin. Spicy, peppery, and good beef broth flavor. The fried chicken wings were pretty good, except that you need to dip the wings into a side of sauce. This works for those who want to tailor their bites, but I prefer sauce on wing. The complementary tea(Korean barley tea) was a nice touch, but it could be a bit stronger(needs more brew essence). The store worker gave us a complimentary bowl of spicy rice cakes. Those were really good too. Not too sugary and the cakes were cooked just right. The free Choco-Pie dessert really made my experience wanting to come back for some more. This location could work for those pre or post airplane trips due to proximity to LAX. Sometimes after a long trip, you just need a bowl of spicy beef stew with rice. Yummy!

I feel like a bad stereotype of a Asian person who’s really picky about the quality of their rice as I write this review, but so be it: Pojang’s rice is soooo mushy. Everything else on the rice(spicy pork bibimbap in my case) is great: fresh veggies, non-gristly meat, some mystery mushroom thing, precisely the right amount of sauce… but that mushy rice just kills it for me. The mouthfeel is odd, like I’m eating rice porridge. Rice porridge is great when it is supposed to be porridge and contains things like ginger slivers or fish chunks or abalone or pork intestines or whatever, but coupled with sesame-oiled and hot-sauced meat, it just doesn’t quite work. However, I cannot hit a place where I can eat healthfully for under $ 7 with less than 3 stars, especially for a long nitpick about rice.

Well that was yummy and affordable! Tried a bunch of things today. Enjoyed everything from the bbq pork belly platter, spicy soup, vegetable potstickers, rice cake, pickles on the side, and spicy chicken drum sticks. They were all no msg, they were piping hot and deeeeeelicious from the kitchen. The spice level isn’t too bad. The color is deceiving. They are sweeter than spicy. We ate in, but food still came in styrofoam. That’s the only draw back. All this wonderful food! Need to get basic plates and bowls as a respect of the really good food.

What a great place! A good way to get your Korean food fix in this area. It doesn’t have every single Korean dish on their menu of course… but there is about two or three items. The food is pretty good here. It’s not too busy so you get your meal fast. They also deliver in case you don’t feel like driving. The spicy pork was good and it wasn’t too spicy for me. I don’t usually eat spicy food so it was a bonus. The Korean Thai chicken was not too bad either. I got the chicken bibimbap and thought there should ave been more meat. So next time I’ll probably just get a bowl or a plate of either meat. It even comes with a yummy egg. Lots of parking for this place too.

I found this place on Unilocal,it is new and I’ve never heard of it before It is only 10min away from our home Me and my husband came here late at night but they told us we can stay and eat and they can wait.
