Food was cooked beautifuly and the taste to perfection. I ordered the 2 kabob entrée. Good price for delicious food. I would definetly come back and recommend. ps. the 2 waiters were on it. Pleasant warm smiles and very patient considering we were 5 in a group.

The Chicken is always so fresh and well cooked, my favorite place to have a delicious tabbouleh. I really appreciate great service and last night I ordered food for my dad and had it delivered with out a hassle. Thank you so much for your great service and amazing food! LOVE xoxo

This place earns it name by offering 9 different kinds of hummus. Get the hummus platter as an appetizer if you’re up for trying them all. If you like a kick, get the habanero! The Zuchini fritters are also good, but they’re very cheesy. I’m vegetarian, but the boasted chicken smelled amazing enough to make me cheat.

I love my entire order!!! My first time trying this restaurant and definetly won’t be the last. At first expression and smell, the Zucchini Dumplings smelled burnt, and the Two Kabob Combination looked dry. So I took my first bite cautiously. .and to my surprise the Dumplings were amazing! ! With the dip . The Kabobs were very flavorful, but rice was set but tasty. The Pistachio Walnut Baklava was delicous. The Garden salad with purple olives was delicious as well.

I haven’t eaten here in a few months but the food is still just as good as I remember it! Unfortunately, the prices are not :( The lunch special prices have gone up! I’m not sure why this happened! I’ll have to deduct one star because of this since it’s no longer as good of a value. To be more specific, the price of a beef kabob lunch special used to be $ 8.50. It is now about $ 10.50. That’s disappointing.

I love Mediterranean food and this place is awesome. I normally go to open sesame in long beach but I was in the area and this place popped up on Unilocal so o thought I would give it a try. The place looks small but there’s plenty of booths and tables for small or large parties. I started with a cup of lentil soup which was very hearty with lots of veggies, it was a little hot so be careful there but it was flavorful and yummy. I ordered the entrée with two chicken kabobs, their plates come with rice and a roasted tomato and roasted chili. Also it comes with a salad, dressing of your choice and I went with the fatoush which was great, a side of fresh hummus with warm pita bread and you can pick what flavor hummus you want. They have garlic, original and a few others I can’t remember but I went with the fiery chili & habanero which was awesome. They bring you garlic cream and hot sauce, dude their garlic cream/sauce is off the chain, I could eat a whole bowl of that stuff. My meal in its entirety was amazing, delicious, nice portions and the staff was really nice. All in all I loved this place and I look forward to my next visit!

The food and service are both great. Prices are good too. Not expensive at all for the quality of their food. The lunch special are so worth it. Comes with an entrée, salad, rice and pita bread. So delicious. My son loves to come here at least once a week.

Ok I should have posted a review long ago on this place. Its our favorite local spot. I discovered Hummus House some years ago when my sister took me out for lunch, this place is right in my backyard. Its sit right on Hawthorne Boulevard there’s a few parking spaces in front but it’s shared with other businesses, don’t be discouraged there’s a parking lot few buisness down in you can park there. Now it’s doesn’t look like much from the outside, but believe me when I say you won’t be disappointed once you taste the greatness of the food. Always fresh, and me and my husband leave very satisfied, I always have to bring half of it home portion along with price is awesome. I have try a couple things there but the favorite is the roasted chicken dinner for 2 $ 19.99 you get salad, rice, hummus 2 of your choice, pita bread and the perfectly cook roasted chicken. Yummy !!! If in the area in hungry try it out. Service is great and also the environment, décor have improved but don’t think of glamorous when you enter. It’s fairly clean or we wouldn’t there. Thanks Hummus House for doing such a great job, we will keep coming along as the quality doesn’t change. Oh they also have delivery service when you can’t leave the office or don’t feel like cooking. Happy eating…

TL;DR — Zucchini Dumplings, garlic sauce and pita chips are good. Every other vegetarian item was pretty meh. Details: The Zucchini Dumplings were pretty good, but just about everything else I tried wasn’t very enjoyable. I did like their complementary pita chips and their«Garlic Sauce» though. I had the Veggie Platter which came with baba ghanoush, hummus, two dolma, two falafel and tahini. Served with lentil soup and tabouleh. I will now go ahead and commence whining about each individual part of the dish! The baba ghanoush was a bit under seasoned, but the Garlic Sauce I poured on it made it tasty. For the hummus I chose their Jalapeño Hummus which came recommended by the waitress. I thought it was the blandest hummus I’ve ever tried in my life. It tasted like pasty water with jalapeños. Had no seasoning whatsoever and the texture was not what I am used to. The dolmas were very large, but had no flavor to them. Just tasted like ordinary rice wrapped in grape leaves without any spices or love. I thought the falafels were decent tasting. I’ve never had falafels before so I don’t know what they’re supposed to taste like, but these were the highlight of the dish for me. Too bad the dish came with only two tiny pieces. The majority of the dish was taken up by Tabbouleh. To me it tasted like Chimichurri without any of the spices/flavor. It wasn’t a dip though, it was more like a salad. Still would have liked some sort of taste to it. Never had it before and I’m not too keen on trying it again anytime soon. The tahini was very bland as well. Trader Joe’s has some great Tahini in comparison. The lentil soup was also, you guessed it, bland! Man I’m annoying myself by complaining so much, but I just think it is helpful to know what NOT to order. I didn’t get to try any meat, so if I were you I would get the Zucchini Dumplings and go for a dish with some meat. Don’t forget to try their garlic sauce! The staff was very professional and the restaurant itself was beautiful. I wanted to love this place, but the food didn’t do it for me. They also have plenty of affordable lunch specials, but they were all meat based dished :( Pros: + Zucchini Dumplings + Pita Chips + Garlic Sauce + Professional staff + Beautifully decorated Cons: — Dolmas — Lentil Soup — Tabbouleh — Tahini — Jalapeño Hummus — No vegetarian lunch specials — Tiny falafels

You must get the broasted chicken. Trust me, it’s one of the best fried chickens I’ve tried in a looong time. It’s crunchy delicious so don’t limit yourself. It takes about 15 minutes but worth it. Smother it with the garlic sauce and you’re in fried chicken heaven. They serve all the other mediteranean kebabs, hummus, and the accompanying usual suspects. Their jalapeño cilantro hummus is my favorite. Tip: take some fried chicken to go. heat it in the toaster oven & Voila!

Hello Hummus. I never thought I’d be a fan of hummus but at Hummus house, I got to sample the many different hummus’s they had. Jalapeño Cilantro, Olive, Roasted Red Pepper, Fiery, Garlic… oh my. My personal favorite was the Sundried flavor. Pack with a powerful punch! Unlimited refills of Pita bread? This screams HEAVENNNN~ So much goodness in the Hummus. That pretty much sealed the deal for me. Anyways, I went with a huge group and we decided to split the chicken and kafta kabob with rice and UNLIMITEDHUMMUS. The chicken and rice were so delicious and super flavorful upon the first bite. The kafta was alright, I wouldn’t have gotten it as a side. The deal also comes with a side of salad, nothing special there. But back to the hummus. It complete every single bite of chicken and rice and made it so creamy and rich in texture. Ambiance: The restaurant was very spacious. We were seated upon arrival and food came out promptly. Honestly, I would all the way out here again. It’s located nearby LAX so a hearty place to stop by before or after your flight.

Went here today for an early dinner and got the vegetarian plate. It consisted of 2 dolmas, 2 falafel balls with tahini, a small freshly baked container of baba ganoush, a cup of lentil vege soup with crackers, pickles/olives. It also came with a plate of hummus and tabouleh. I also got a basket of pita bread. All of this was for 11.99 and I took half home with an extra side of dolmas. The falafel was freshly fried and hot. The dolmas were very unique, because the filling had pine nuts and spiced rice. They were also fresh. I could also tell the hummus was fresh. I chose the jalapeño cilantro which had a good kick. Hopefully I’ll come back if I’m in the area again. The staff was also attentive and nice.

Came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch with some family. Service was excellent. Server brought out some crispy, fried pita with pepper and salt as an appetizer. Lunch platters costs between $ 8 – 10. Serving size was proportionate and enough to keep you full til your next meal. Ordered the kafta kabob with salad, rice, and garlic hummus. Ate almost everything and had half my kafta as leftovers. They bring out hot and fresh pita bread with your meal. Definitely one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Hawthorne. Beware though, I ordered here for pick up and ended up waiting for 30+minutes for my takeout irdsr. Minus one star for that. I think it’s faster to just dine in than take out during lunch.

This unassuming little restaurant is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is modest, but the food is excellent, fresh, and made with great care. We had the beef Kafka plate, and the lamb shawerma plate. Both were delicious, tender, and superbly seasoned. The hummus is also perfectly creamy, and balanced. I’m usually not a fan of Mediterranean rice, however their rice is exceptional, love love love this place! Also, it’s worth mentioning that the service is also top notch. Very pleased.

Service was nice and friendly and food was okay. The many options for hummus was cool. I enjoyed my entrée but it wasn’t crazy out of this world. The place seemed kind of dirty but then again the city seems pretty ghetto … Watch out for the parking cause it’s kind of weird. We missed the entrance the first time so we had to uturn First time trying mango lassi, and I quite enjoyed it. I’m not much of a Mediterranean /Indian /middle eastern food eater, but I decided to give this place a try and it was good.

Rating: 78⁄100 pts Great Mediterranean food may not come as easily as others in LA, but, as I’ve recently discovered, there are some hidden-away gem spots if you look for them. Though not the best Mediterranean in the South Bay, Hummus House nevertheless offers delicious, house-prepared food, which I would say warrants repeat visits. Their uniqueness comes in their offering several types of hummus(habanero, sun-dried tomato, and about 6 others), and pretty much any meal you order will come with a small side of the flavor of your choice. The hummus is good, but slightly too runny for my taste and, despite being their namesake, I wouldn’t say it’s what makes them stand out, nor is it close to being the best hummus around. This is served with loads of pita which, unfortunately, is thin and at times brittle. So, what IS good here? Well for one, their meat, which is fresh, tasty, and succulent every time. But even more notable is the value you get with their lunch offerings(available weekdays but Saturdays as well). They have a wide array of choices, and you get a remarkable amount of good food for under $ 10. After having tried both their plate and wrap lunches, I will say their plates are a far better deal, as you get much more food for only a fraction more in price. This includes a very welcome colorful salad with traditional Mediterranean toppings(Greek olives, and pickled turnips). For dessert, they have homemade baklava – but I’ve yet to have the space to try it. The interior is expansive, and the décor, with dangling carpets all round, produces a relaxing, Middle Eastern-style atmosphere. This, combined with the great lunch deals, makes this a solid 4-star spot in my book.

I. Love. This. Place. Delicious kabobs and shwarma and best of all… their hummus! How great is it to have a whole house dedicated to hummus… or as a friend calls it… Yummus. They have amazing lunch specials for about $ 7−10… which comes with ½ lb of meat(I love the beef shwarma the most), a plate of their homemade hummus, pita bread, crispy pita chips, salad and rice! What a deal! And they also have their extra strong homemade garlic sauce on the tables to use to your pleasure. Warning: No matter how much you brush your teeth after consuming said garlic sauce, it will linger in your mouth for about 2 days. Make sure your date has it too. Or make sure you don’t see your mate for 2 days or so… for real. This stuff is POTENT! But delicious! And while the lunch specials are bomb, for just $ 3 more, you can just get the dinner portion, an entire pound of their super tender and tasty meat and save half for dinner… which I often do. This comes with everything the lunch portion comes with as well. My favorite hummus here is the artichoke one… so good! The cilantro jalapeño one is really good too… if you like super spicy hummus. Seriously… my mouth went numb the last time I had it and could no longer taste my food! Spicy! An additional item to get is their zucchini fritters… Shredded zucchini breaded and balled up with feta cheese and deep fried to golden perfection! If I weren’t so lactose intolerant, I’d get this a lot more. Service is good and I’m pretty sure they recognize me now since I go about once every other week and order the same thing! One of the guys even guessed me order the last time I was there. Parking is ample along the smaller Hawthorne Blvd along the shops… make sure you get to the smaller Hawthorne Blvd, otherwise you’ll be circling for awhile. Does that even make sense? Anyway… you’ll see what I mean when you get there. Anyway… go here for their delicious food! .
