Chinese Friends has the best Chinese food in the El Segundo area. I eat there frequently and am happy with the food and the service. They can get jammed up and busy for lunch times: this is my only explanation for some of the negative reviews.

Very bad. I went in just to grab rice which is 1.50 cents and they automatically charged 2.00 for the rice to go. It’s really no about the money, it’s about the concept of right and wrong. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. If he needed money he could have a told me. Please don’t come to this place they are thieves.

This is my favorite place for orange chicken. It’s not all breaded and fried just has a little coating. So far everything has been good and there service isn’t bad.

I was coerced into coming back here with co-workers and I should have stuck to my boycott. This time, there was a hair in my rice. Awesome! This place just keeps getting better with time. I informed the same rude guy from my previous visit and he replaced the rice. Definitely will not be stepping back in this establishment… ever.

OMG this place is good, very good! Fresh cooked to order, and pretty fast too! I love how the food is fresh cooked right from the kitchen for every order, not old and stale like so many other small Chinese buffet-style restaurants where they just stir it up a little when you walk in to make it only look fresh. This place is the real deal. Plus they have brown rice if you want, so much more nutricious and healthy. If people really knew about brown rice and it’s benefits, they would quit white rice. Brown rice is more natural too. The staff is very nice, professional and fast. I had the Kung Pow Beef with brown rice, it was excellent and not a small portion like some fancy places give you. If you’re hungry come here. If you want fast and fresh and delicious Chinese, go here. If you want coffee afterwards there is a Starbucks right next door. I love this place, good prices too!

I ordered two lunch specials from here which should have included an egg roll and soup and it was $ 9 each when I got the food I noticed that there was no soup in cluded so of course I asked about the cashier told me that it doesn’t come with soup when you order it to go which he has not told me before I order. Since I had paid for soup and an egg roll I asked him if he could at least give me an extra egg roll. He said no so then I asked him to return the food and get a refund to which he refused. So I basically got robbed. And I would never come here again.

Was not our favorite. Service was eh and food the same. The parking was very convenient.

I had an excellent experience here, the food is fresh with tons of fresh veggies and flavor. We ordered two lunch specials to go, atmosphere was clean while we waited enjoyed our hot and sour soup complimentary with soup and the food was still hot and fresh when we arrived home. We’ve been missing a good and convenient Chinese go to spot, so happy we found one in the South Bay!

Simply horrible. Ordered chicken teriyaki for me and shrimp with vegetables for my wife. Neither the two of us could finish half a plate. 40 bucks going straight to garbage. What a waste. Will never ever return to that place. Do yourself a favor and try ANYTHING else but this place. You have subway, pollo loco, pizza hut, and a few more options at walking distance from this awful place.

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten!!! Ordered beef lo mein and egg rolls to go. Beef lo mein tastes very bland and only had a couple pieces of beef which tasted rubbery. Egg rolls were also a bit cold. I know what you’re thinking, a to go order is suppose to cool off a bit on the commute home, but I live less than 5 minutes away — 3 ½ minutes to be exact. Also their red chile paste and spicy mustard wasn’t spicy at all and had a weird taste. I ate less then ¼ of my food and had to stop because I started to feel noxious. Still have the bad taste in my mouth which I tried to over power by consuming a little listerine(yes I said consume, was the only way I could kill some of the taste). Bottom line — Food is way over-priced and you could probably do better at a $ 1 fast food Chinese joint.

They cooked as you order, even if I only order extra crispy fried tofu they really accommodate my request. Nice service crew

I started with a order of vegetable egg rolls and they came quick within two minutes too quick. The insides were cool/room temp so I notified the waiter and they cooked a new order those were fine. Main dish Stir fried Spicy Chicken with Vegetables too many Water chestnut’s hardly any vegetables or chicken and over salted for this dish. Not recommended. The rice was really the best part of the meal but it’s not hard to make rice correctly. Overall with pricing considered better to go to the franchised Panda Express Chinese food place that actually has better pricing and food. Such a shame but I did notice it was corporate owned.

Great Chinese food like in Chinatown and in South Bay! Love the potstickers and steamed dumplings! The Mongolian Beef and special fried noodles are amazing! Just a great all around Chinese place! We also had the eggplant with pork and asked for spicy it was amazing!

Ordered vegetable Chow mein noodles and Sweet and Sour Soup but it appears a got a doze of salty stuff and burnt vegetables. I informed the waiver who did nothing. Just stood there. Not going here ever because of poor service recovery and poor food.

OMG! Sooooo good! Fast and reasonable prices. Good porotions. I was in a hurry and went there for the first time on default. What happened to fish and chips? Well well well looks like another front store Chinese food place. Had the Mongolian Beef. It was so good. 2nd time no mistake I had the chicken in curry, loved it too. Next time we will see looking forward to eating there again!!!

It’s such a shame. The food is ok. The service is horrible. I also don’t understand why when ordering $ 20 worth of take out, ANY amount of rice is not included??? That is ridiculous. That is like charging for salsa or ketchup. It is NOT worth coming here to be treated like crap by THEOWNER(tall Asian man with round rimmed glasses) and being nickel and dimed for rice for a little than mediocre food. No wonder Panda Expresses and those«Hong Kong Chinese» franchises are popping up everywhere. At least I get a free side of rice AND or Noodles with my meal.

Such a meh experience and yes, for the same price, I have had better! + One star for hot and made to order fresh food. + One star for overall taste. — One star for being rushed to get our orders — One star for no real service, no refills on water, no checking back to make sure we were satisfied — One star for the meat & veggies pieces not being bite sized. Way too large. We ordered: Sweet & Sour Chicken — it was really tasty and I would order it again! Pan Fried Noodles with Beef, Shrimp, Chicken & Veggies — the noodles were great when served, but the veggies on top made them soft/soggy pretty quickly. Curried Beef — the beef chunks almost had the texture of being fatty, not a fan. I’ll pass on it in the future. Since we got 2 lunch specials & a regular dish, we got 3 hot & sour soups and 3 egg rolls that came with our meal. I liked the soup. The egg rolls were under-cooked and one was way under-filled(almost empty). I can imagine if they were cooked properly, they would be your typical egg roll. As far as the restaurant goes, it is a semi-fast food place. They do cook your food after you’ve ordered it. They have one wall wallpapered with a temple. The condiments are on the tables, which is very handy. Overall, it was just ok. Nothing super terrible nor super good. If I come back again, I will select something different. The online menu had more lunch specials than I saw on the menu at the restaurant. I’ll just have to ask questions.

I paid way too much for a shrimp dish but the fact I didn’t have to cook it myself and it was piping hot, made to order and delicious warrants the 4 stars. this is probably one of the few times I’m so hungry that I forget to take a pic of my food but I got the Specialty shrimp(I’d call it orange shrimp). It came with broccoli and rice and was nice and hot when i got it home. I’d definitely go back if I was in a bind and craving some Chinese but not if I had options. The cashier was totally overworked and the restaurant is understaffed considering its not just a take out place but includes waiter service. I’m glad I didn’t have to stay because I would’ve been annoyed with the service for sure.
