Great food and excellent service. The view is also outstanding. Even in the winter months it is worth the visit!

Most people I know seem to really like the place. The view is great, but to me, the food is marginal(dry wraps, wimpy fries) and over priced. Everyone has a different expectation and therefore a different experience, so, give it a shot. I’m just not terribly impressed.

This place deserves better than 3 stars… consistently good food… well made drinks, good service and a great location… for a small fee they will split entrees… my wife and I make it a point to come here once a month… the brunch is very good too…

A fall road trip ending at this grille. Crab soup, seafood sampler and crab cake sandwich were excellent. The tartar sauce was the best I have ever had. Service a bit slow but a good experience.

How this place is still in business is beyond me. They’re not even trying. Tidewater ranks as the worst food and service in town. We were hoping for great cream of crab soup, as others had shared in the past… but the soup was cold our shrimp was frozen and the fries were mushy. We sent the soup back and the waiter spilled the replacement soup literally all over himself. After waiting far too long for the rest of our meals, we ended up leaving before the 3rd replacement attempt at another round of soup. Thought maybe we were part of a joke for restaurant make over show! No apologies and no sign of a manager anywhere. While they did remove the soup from our bill, the rude wait staff figured it was perfectly reasonable to charge us for the other lunch items — even though we didn’t eat most of the crummy food. Yes, the location is on the water… trust me, enjoy the view for a moment and walk up the street to la cucina.

Not a bad little place on the river. Sitting outside you have a nice view of the water with trains passing by. The food is good quality and the bartenders seem to know how to make a decent drink. We did have an issue with the hostess as we tried to seat a large party. This was quickly taken care of by the manager. Would I drive specifically to go here, no. Would I consider it if I was coming through the area and wanted to get a nice lunch or dinner, sure! One plus for them. They had soft shell crabs. Very hard to find a place to cook it just right or serve it all! It was spot on!

Tidewater is situated on the waterfront in downtown Havre de Grace; view is picturesque. On the inside, décor is rather uninspiring. I ordered the Shrimp and Crab Bruschetta Pasta which was quite tasty, seasoned nicely. Overall, it was a decent meal; however, I probably wouldn’t return anytime soon.

Overall tasty food but restaurant décor could use an update. The location and view was ideal for the area. They have solid seafood focused l menu options as well as the service was prompt and friendly. Wouldn’t come back here if I was in the area again but overall a positive experience.

I was in Aberdeen, MD on business and I was told to go to the Tidewater Grille by the front desk staff at the hotel. I browsed the other Unilocal reviews, and they seemed ok. I arrived in Havre de Grace, and I walked around a bit as there were three different restaurants that I wanted to consider. I settled on Tidewater simply based on the ambiance and location. The restaurant is on the water, with a dock access point for boaters. There were a lot of different options on the menu, and at times I found it to be overwhelming, but my server helped direct me to different choices that were good. I decided to start with a house salad and a beer. The salad was basic, with mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, and sprouts. The price was $ 7, which I felt was high for a house salad. The salad was ok, but nothing to write home about. The beer was a Dogfish head 60 Minute IPA and it was also $ 7. I decided on a sandwich for dinner. I chose the Crab Cake Club sandwich. It is a full crab cake with bacon on top and cheddar cheese melted, served on a potato roll. This was delicious and made my experience worth while. The crab cake was cooked perfectly, and it had a ton of flavor. My only complaint had to deal with the server/bussing station that I was seated near. The station itself was fine, but I constantly heard curse words and rude talking from the different servers and bussers that were working. This seemed very unprofessional, which lead me to deduct a star.

Overpriced and no WIFI, someone please tell the owners the 1990’s are over… food is good, service is okay too. Big draw is the location but little else.

Stopped in here on a Road Trip looking for an out of the way place by the water! Great place located at the mouth of the Susquehanna and the head of the Chesapeake Bay. The spectacular view from the deck sets the ambiance for a seafood meal! The wife had a hand breaded Fried Haddock Sandwhich and I had a Crab Cake Sandwhich. For starters she had Cream Of Crab Soup and I had Maryland Crab both were excellent with lots of crab. Everything was very enjoyable worth the 40 minute wait. Will definitely find time to reserve an earlier time and go have a full meal! They do have a pretty nice menu for a seafood trendy place. Only downfall was the wait and the relatively slow service. Not a de traction from the great eating and ambiance!

4 stars We didn’t have enough patience to wait for an outdoor table — it was a lovely summer Sunday at lunchtime, and that’s what everyone wanted. But we were seated right at the window with a view of the patio and water. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. My friend and I shared a basket of fries, which were nothing spectacular, but solid. I chose a salmon-stuffed-with-crab special; it was served with rice and green beans, and cost $ 25. It was delicious, although the fish could have used a bit more seasoning. The green beans were awesome(maybe they had Old Bay on them?). The portion was enormous; even if I’d not started with fries, I’m unsure I’d been able to finish off every bit. My friend had the swordfish(also a special), and he raved about it.

After reading reviews I decided to give Tidewater Grille a try for lunch. I’m glad I did. This place reminds me of a little place in Gainesville that I used to frequent when I lived down there. It also reminds me of why I never go to a restaurant I’ve never been to with less than $ 50. The service was excellent, from start to finish. My waitress, Chayanna, let me examine the menu at my leisure and never once made me feel rushed. Since I had 2 hours to kill, this is a good thing! I had swordfish with steamed green beans and rice pilaf, and it was just as good as I remembered from…30 years ago. Price was similar, as well. The outdoor seating is the best for waterfront viewing. You can see the water from inside but it’s not the same experience. I will definitely be returning to this little gem of a spot next paycheck. More to eat on the men’s than just the specials, you see. :)

Food was decent, standard bar fare. The crab dip was really on point! The service was excellent, and they didn’t hassle us for bringing in 11 people mid-day on a Saturday(and we were able to make a reservation).

My first visit to this establishment and I was impressed with the location & the view. The food was pretty good. Although, BEWARE that they use ARTIFICIAL crab in their crab cakes in the off season! Our server, Randi, was excellent and very prompt even when we weren’t ready to order because we had been talking. We sat on the outside deck and had dinner. Near 10 pm, we were finishing our dinner and the deck lights flashed on and off. I turn to see the«owner» walking away from the back of the deck. I found this very rude and inconsiderate for customers. We felt rushed to finish our dinner. When Randi came out to check on us I asked her if that was the owner and mentioned that I felt that it was very rude. She immediately apologized. After we got our check, I asked her if I could speak to the owner. He comes out and I explained that flashing the lights at us like we were children was rude and inconsiderate. He apologized and said that he does that to everyone when they are closing the deck. He didn’t seem too concerned with the way it is perceived by his customers. Also, I had tried to visit once before and they apparently close whenever there is little business, even if it is 2 hours prior to their stated closing. Overall, If you don’t have any interactions with the owner then you’re probably safe. I won’t be returning there because of my experience. BTW, when you rely on customers to pay your bills… you should probably treat them well. I don’t know why that isn’t common sense.

Let me start by saying I live 2 blooks away and have either Visted or taken out food 15 times in the past year. I have never been so disappointed. First j was told that the home made Cake I brought had to be store bought and that they were going to charge me $ 2 per person to slice which is absurd! Then I was dick slapped in the face with a horrible waitress whom must of spoke to the hostess whom knew I was outraged about the cake which I took home. The cream of crab was flour tasting, lacked old bay, salt, and any flavor other than flour. The meals were subpar and only 1 out of 6 meals c was ok Also, the table was lopsided and they said«Oh sure we can fix it» and then she avoided us like the plague… didn’t check on us and even walked around us to other tables… finally came back around to ask if we wanted desserts. Too late and I’m too sorry we went there. Should have gone to Chipparelis instead!

I’ve been here a few times to eat at the bar during football and baseball season. It’s a pretty snug bar and there’s a crowd, but the bartenders always refill you when you’re empty. They have cheap natty boh specials during sports games. If you come here you have to try the crab dip burger. They serve a regular hamburger patty with melted cheese, crab dip and bacon on top. Their crab dip is very good on its own as an app too. The view of the river is picture perfect. The outside lawn is a really nice spot when the weather is warm.

Not top of my list. this was my second visit. I obviously cam back, and would do so again. Service was very slow this time, we almost walked away without eating. Food is good, but fairly standard seafood fair, not great, but good. We were here in the off season(late October), I hope to think they are better staffed and step it up in the summer.

Super happy with this place! Fresh seafood, well prepared and flavors are on point! Full plates for the price– nothing was less than amazing. I ordered the Cake & Tail at market price. It came with fries, green beans, & a homemade tartar sauce. The lobster was rich and perfectly cooked and the crab cake was a light, but filling ball of fresh delicious crab meat. For dessert, while there were May fabulous options, I chose the chocolate lava cake– not too rich and just the right amount.(See pics) We sat outdoors, right off the waterside… Beautiful atmosphere and overall a great experience. I would highly recommend coming here and enjoying some of their wonderfully prepared seafood dishes. As for the desserts, apparently they all come straight from a local bakery… So you can enjoy them in two locations. I believe he said it was called Rita’s bakery. B
