Definitely one of my favorite restaurants around! I love the loaded cheese fries with bacon, onions, cheese, and sour cream on top of them. The menu has a lot to offer here. A little something for everyone. Their burgers are very tasty! Things can get a little loud in here seeing how it’s kind of small and it has a heavy emphasis on the craft beer drinking scene but it’s fun. Might not be the best for a first date if you’re looking to have in depth conversation. The beer offerings are great here! The menu is also changing and they have craft beers from all over the country and world. Oh, and definitely make sure to check them out for breakfast sometime! The Irish Bennedict is delicious!

Best neighborhood restaurant. I’ve been here before and it does have Great burgers. It is always busy which says something for the quality. But the servers just can’t keep up. It is painfully slow, bordering on“I’m ready to walk out.”

The burger I ordered was good but the wait to get in this place was too long, and the booths are too close together, does not allow for a more private setting. Would not be my first choice unfortunately.

First timers here. The Thanksgiving Balls are great appetizers. My wife enjoyed the Risotto with Grilled Chicken while I had the Sliders with Waffle Fries. The choices of craft beer is good and the beer menu is informative. Our only knock from a 5 star rating is the noise level. Although not terrible we felt the interior needed some sound control materials.

It has a very relaxed ambience with what it seems to be a place where the locals go. We had the steak tip with mashed and roasted veggies and a turkey tip with the same. Portions were great and the food was delicious. Drinks were just right. ordered a Pom martinis with kettle one very good. Steak came out cooked perfect Med rare as requested and service was fast and friendly. This is my new fav spot from now on.

Went for breakfast. Service was good, however coffee very strong, pancakes were doughy. Phantom Gourmet gave high marks for dinner. From experience, breakfast meh.

Service was fine — no problems there, but the steak tip dinner, although tasty, was stingy for the price. We ate late(9pm), and although my husband’s prime rip was the size ordered, he found it to be bland and very chewy. The cheesy loaded fries were good, but note that there is an additional $ 2.50 charge for the cheese, onions, and bacon. Large selection of beers, but they are over-priced — two beers $ 19.00. I was excited to try this restaurant but ended up disappointed.

Had seen a review on the Phantom Gourmet a while back and have heard good things so a friend and I decided to try it for lunch. Arrived on a Friday around 12:30 p and it was busy but not packed. Appeared to be a lot of locals. We were seated immediately and our waitress came over to offer drinks and we opted for water. She seemed rushed because we were trying to decide on an appetizer but she scurried away and said«I’ll be right back». By then we had decided on our lunch order and skipped the app. We decided to share the Broadway Burger with a side garden salad and the Apple Chip Burger(which had a Phantom Gourmet Must Try recommendation next to it) with sweet potato fries(for an up charge). It took a little while for our side salad to arrive(which my friend specifically requested before the burgers). It was an average size to share. Iceberg with some mixed field greens, cherry tomatoes, a few cucumber slices and one ring of a red onion with balsamic dressing. Our burgers arrived shortly and looked plain/bare, needed a little«staging». The Apple chip burger(pork based) was smaller than the Broadway burger and was very flavorful, juicy and I couldn’t tell it wasn’t beef. It had apple pieces that were very evident. The Broadway burger was topped with mushrooms, sautéed onions, peppercorn and provolone and was cooked to perfection(med rare). The sweet potato fries(with maple syrup to dip) were a disappointing… not too crispy and somewhat soggy toward the end. Service was ok though we didn’t think our server was overly friendly. Total tab including tip, $ 33. We would consider returning to try some of their other dishes.

Usually love this place, but tonight was quite the experience… Came out for a last minute date night and although we weren’t in a crazy rush, I didn’t feel like sitting around twiddling my thumbs while our waitress flirted and gossiped with other staff members and also began twirling around at one point… Completely unprofessional. She brought me a box when I wasn’t even done eating(she didn’t ask if I was done, just simply asked if she could grab me a box, like SHE was the one in a rush or something…) Shortly afterward I wanted another drink and she didn’t come back for another 25 minutes!(Thanksgiving eve at an earlier hour… Place was pretty dead) I continued to try to lock eyes with her half way across the restaurant so she would know that we needed something but she still completely avoided our table and continued goofing off with co-workers(I mean SERIOUSLY goofing off. I’m all for enjoying your job, and I know working in the food service can be more laid back, but she couldn’t be bothered with her guests). When she finally came over I figured she’d ask if we were all set, or if she could grab us anything else and instead she handed us our check! I had to hand it back to her and ask for another drink before she tried to run off again(it was only my second refill, it’s not like I was on my 10th or something!) Soon thereafter I finished my drink and waited around for the check again. She took her time with that as well and took even LONGER to cash us out. She disappeared out in the kitchen again, and whatever she was gossiping about with the hostess was clearly more important than her customers. I began to walk toward the hostess station to ask someone else to cash us out when I saw her come out of the kitchen. So I decided I would wait it out since she so clearly saw me and went back to my seat. She still didn’t come over to our table and I turned around and asked a different waiter at the back register to cash us out because we needed to get going. She told me she had to have our server do it and went to get our waitress.(She shouldn’t have to hunt down her co-workers to do their job). I usually ALWAYS over tip, even when the service isn’t spectacular because I know the restaurant business is not easy and I like to give the benefit of the doubt. But this was such blatant negligence on her part that I left the worst tip I’ve ever left in my entire life!(No snarky note, just a poor tip) because I wanted to make it just as obvious that I was u satisfied with her poor service. Ghee people I realize it’s a slower night, and the night before Thanksgiving, but maybe you should request the night off or switch schedules with someone if you can’t perform to mediocre serving standards. I was better off staying in and making my own dinner and drinks!

I eat here twice a month and love this place. It’s an everymans restaurant. Simple, great, and classic American food. Service is always awesome as they staff appropriately. Great beer selection as well. Bar is always packed, never sat at the bar. I had the squash risotto with steak tips & a hint of bbq sauce. Burgers are always delicious too. I wish Unilocal!would allow for half stars, I’d give a 4.5. The only issue I have is the wait and there’s not much room, but when you run a good restaurant and are busy, there’s inevitably going to be a wait. Quality restaurants are rarely slow. A big bonus as there is beer next door at convenient store.

Great atmosphere, great beer selection, great menu, lots of comfort food. Our food was delicious! Unfortunately, our waitress(maybe Ann), seemed very inconvenienced with us. She’d ask one of us if we wanted a drink, but no one else. The irony was that she was just making more work for herself. We had to ask about the specials, and she practically threw our food at us. The place wasn’t busy, so I don’t get it. Due to the great food, I will be back to try the loaded French fries though.

Great service, great food, great drinks but a little loud. My husband and I have been here a couple of times. His burger and my turkey burger last time weren’t great — hence the lack of review. But I like to give places a chance before I review. However, tonight they were spot on. I had the new Taco Mac’n’Cheese. Aaa-mazing! Seasoned ground beef with jalapeños and topped with salsa. Yum! And tonight the hubby’s bacon cheese burger was perfect! They are known for their fries, but with such wonderful Mac’n’Cheese options I don’t know if I’ll ever try them. Wunderbar!

Great food, Brittany and Brian are awesome, and the beer selection is hard to beat! It’s never let me down, other than not having the bar open when I came in for a fun and creative breakfast one Sunday morning.

I have been here many times and this past time, unfortunately was not very good. Steak and cheese egg rolls were mostly rolls and not much steak and cheese. Wings were good. Should have stopped at the thanksgiving balls. Those were Very good! Vegetable wrap which I got only because the last time I had it was so good, this time was a BIG disappointment. Cheese wasn’t even melted inside, and it was loaded with dried seasoning that was just overpowering. Smoked brisket sandwich was swimming in bbq sauce and was just too overwhelming and rich. Breakfast burger was ok. Egg could have been cooked a bit more. Chicken parm dinner was not very good and the sauce tasted like it was smoked. Not very good. Giant beer selection is a plus. Hope they get back on track soon!

My rating may have been higher had I gotten something else. The burgers did look really good. But on this visit I got a salad. I ordered the house salad with grilled chicken and ranch. I thought it was OK. I wasn’t overwhelmed by the quantity or the quality of the salad. The ranch was not made in house(they didn’t claim it to be). So overall it was just an ordinary dining experience and for that I give it three stars. Would go back to try something else.

My friends from out-of-town love visiting me because they know I will bring them to dinner at Grill Next Door. This is a great place for comfort food. Especially in the colder or grayer weather I love heading over here for their steak bomb mac and cheese or one of their specialty burgers(one of my friends is in heaven eating the breakfast burger, which has a fried egg, bacon and cheese on a hamburger). I also must mention that I am not a fan of french fries, but I always get a side of their specialty fries because they are SOGOOD. My favorite are the loaded cheddar fries — bacon, sautéed onions, cheese, & scallions + sour cream. You can’t beat it. This is the perfect place for beer lovers too — they have an enormous selection of out-of-the-ordinary beers on tap and the menu is categorized by types of beer and gives descriptions of the key-flavor-notes of each to make it easier for you to find something you will enjoy(It’s still never easy to choose which beer to get though… because they all sound SOAMAZING!!)

Local spot with local fanfare! Looking for an array of delish’ beers on tap? How about 36 on tap a couple of ciders and a constant cask selection? Then this is the place for you! The place is bustling on weekends with locals and passerby folks coming off the Interstate looking for as my brother would say, a good«burger and a beer!» Heavy rotation of local brews and regional beers keeps the Taps on par and the beer as fresh as can be! Confused as to what to drink? Ask the always pleasant bartenders to serve up a sample to ease your mind of the bountiful choices before you dive into one of the brews. As always I favor family owned establishments that emphasize on service with a smile, ownership who take their beer and the craft beer experience serious and offer a respectable menu that can stretch your appetite to whatever those suds get you to crave! A favorite of many and the reason this establishment has earned its fame with locals near or far are the specialty French Fries concoctions they whip up and continue to innovate to please the palette. My favorites to start are the steak and cheese egg rolls that are served with a horseradish mayo or dare I say Thanksgiving Day Balls! Imagine fresh roasted turkey, cranberry stuffing & sweet potatoes rolled together, fried to a golden crisp then topped with turkey gravy! Liked the beer you had as you sat at the bar? Why not go «next door» to the beer store attached to the restaurant and pickup togo beer as you journey on or head to your humble abode! As Plato so eloquently put it «He was a wise man who invented beer.» Be sure to check this place out!
