Perfect neighborhood coffee shop. Plenty of space to feel comfortable. All kinds of customers of all ages — and there are even toys in the corner for kids. (Wifi could be more reliable, but this is a rarity anywhere, to be honest.)

I love the ambiance of this place – spacious, clean, comfortable, relaxed. Variety of seating. Lots of light. I got a iced soy vanilla chai, which was not overly sweet, along with a cheese and ham croissant, warmed. Also very good. The baristas are relaxed and nice. *Oh, but the wifi kinda’ sucks. I wish I had a place like this closer to home.

Had an Ethiopian pour over that was excellent. Really nice décor. Comfortable seating, and not cramped, which is nice. Had a pastry that was tasty. Will be back to try espresso and vac pot and kyoto cold brew.

AWESOME ambiance. The place couldn’t be more interestingly decorated, or friendly in its vibe. Problem is that that’s all they really have going right. Coffee was unimpressive, milk was a bit sour, and the Internet flat did not work(I’ve had the issue on two separate visits). It really is too bad because it is a place that makes me feel like I just want to go there to hang out. I wish the product lived up to the décor.

Their hot chocolate reminds me if the film«Chocolate», high praise! Fun, trendy, but not foo-foo, nice atmosphere. Bring your surface, or a Kindle, drunk, nibble, and chill. Great for board games like Exploding Kittens!

Beautiful, light, and bright space! I love working remotely from here. If you are working on something super important or studying, just keep in mind that this place doesn’t always provide the most quiet of environments to stay focused. It gets pretty packed during peak hours, and you may have to wait a bit for a proper seat and table to set up to begin work. Otherwise, if you are just doing something mindless on your laptop or iPad, you’re golden here! The menu is somewhat limited, but everything they serve is wonderful! I’m a big fan of their regular cappuccino and iced coffees on the go. You won’t be disappointed in their pastries either! Tip: There is free 2 hour parking on the neighborhood street just a turn up from Green Engine.

Green Engine is both the best and worst discovery I’ve made — a pleasant atmosphere, overall great coffee, and delicious pastries temptingly within walking distance. I come here at least three times a week and have tried basically all the pastries, which are sourced from Au Fournil and are seriously delicious. The croissants and pains aux raisins are wonderfully flaky(the pains aux raisins also have delicious cinnamon icing on top — so good!). The lemon bars are decadent and tangy. It’s honestly difficult to walk into there and leave without a pastry. Onto the coffee — Green Engine has made me into a coffee addict. Before Green Engine, I honestly hated coffee and only drank it in dire situations; now, I order the cold brew almost every time I go. It has a lovely chocolate-y aftertaste, as if they mixed coffee beans and cocoa beans together. The lattes and mocha lattes are also incredible. My coworker usually orders their americano, though he finds it too weak and has to add a 4th shot, which does cost extra. Green Engine offers pretty decent sandwiches as well; I wasn’t a huge fan of their fig, proscuitto, apple, and cheddar sandwich, which just tasted too sweet for a sandwich. However, their mushroom sandwich is very good and their pickled beets that they offer as a side are amazing. I’ve also been really enjoying their iced lemon green tea as of late. The prices do reflect their location on the Main Line, but are not ridiculous; I spend about $ 14 for lunch and a large coffee and $ 5 – 8 on a coffee and pastries. The atmosphere is just lovely — a section of the wall is covered with plants! The music is pretty typical coffee shop fare — upbeat poppy alternative. They also have a lot of different seating arrangements — a communal table, some high tables with stools, café tables for two with pillow-lined seating, and even a couch! It’s the perfect place for studying alone or with a group, meeting with a friend, meeting for business, or just relaxing and reading. The baristas are all super friendly and efficient. I just love the calm feeling that this place brings, especially in the middle of a busy workday.

It all starts with great coffee and these guys are doing it well. With that said the space is welcoming as are the people and the food is focused on local suppliers is also great. We had a bagel this morning which was as the cashier told us: a pillow of dough — it was delicious. My macchiato was perfect with notes of chocolate and was super smooth-not bitter at all. It’s great to have a locally focused, great quality, awesome atmosphere coffee spot in the neighborhood.

Great prices and location, however their nearly unfunctionable wifi seems rather inexcusable. Currently I am in the coffee shop and only two other people who seem to have laptops out, yet I have not connected to wifi at all in the half hour I have been searching. I have been here several times and unfortunately this problem persists rather consistently.

Glad I found this little gem right off Lancaster Ave. in Haverford. I am always looking for good coffee that is not grown with pesticides or decaffeinated with chemicals. This is water process decaf and they are very particular about their coffee bean sources(just ask). Organic milk and cream is standard from local Trickling Spring Farms! Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. They clearly love their coffee here. I shall return!

This is the best coffee shop I have found in the area. The space is very cute, relaxed and«earthy» looking. I had a latte and really enjoyed it, definitely high quality coffee. As far as food, they seem to just have the standard offerings(pastries and bagels). They have a nice selection of pastries which looked like they were from le bus. I had a croissant and it was really good. The employees were friendly. The perfect place to go with a friend on a Saturday morning. I hope they stay in business, because we need a nice coffee shop around here. Much better than Saxby’s.

Lovely coffee shop on the main line. Space is open and bright, and not cramped. Delicious coffee– cold Brewed, pour over, espresso drinks, hot chocolate. They offer panini’s and some pastries. I had a wonderful time with my daughter there. There is a little kids corner for smaller children.

A new local favorite, this café is a breath of fresh air amongst the typical suburban coffee chains. It’s spacious and the décor is tasteful and urban-chic. Best of all, they serve rival bros coffee! Their lattes are creamy and delicious, and they don’t charge extra for soy milk. I also love their mugs! The batistas are wonderful and keep the place running smoothly despite rush periods. I do wish they were open later as the late night study options are quite slim in the area. The wifi can be spotty, especially if the café is packed. Hopefully this can be a quick fix. Also I was not impressed with the panini with beets and greens and would recommend sticking with their bagels and baked goods. It definitely does not compare to the High Street on Market food that is served at Rival Bros Café in center city, but overall the café is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Perfection! Great floor plan, décor, vibe and excellent coffee! They use the big bowl mugs and make pretty heart shaped froth. Super friendly people who take their time making the perfect cup. Thank you!

Second visit today. Lovely open space, I especially appreciate the 8×8 ft of ferns they have on one wall opposite a fireplace on the other, and greens throughout. I’ve had their coffee black(2.50 for large), sesame bagel with a generous amount of cream cheese(1.70) green tea(2.50 for large), Capricorn panini(golden beets, spinach, cheese and honey mustard for 8.50), and chocolate biscotti(2), which were all solid. Servers are warm and friendly. Thanks Green Engine!

I was very excited for this place to open, as I drive right by it every morning. I stopped in about two weeks ago to give it a shot. Overall the place is really cool, has a trendy vibe and I love the moss wall inside. I got a vanilla latte and my husband got a regular coffee. We didn’t try the drip coffee, the machine looked like a science experiment, it was pretty cool. The coffee is a little darker for my taste but overall we had a good experience. Seems like a fun place to hang out with friends and have a coffee. I didn’t see too much in the way of food, but they just opened so maybe they will have more options in the future.

This has to be the most beautiful café in the mainline. Can’t wait to return. Although I don’t know if I can go back again. I had a bad allergy there during my recent visit, and I think it’s bc of the beautiful plants there.

You could ask for a better space for a coffee place. Plenty of space I should add, calm and cool combination of colors, the décor is friendly green and modern. Has huge and comfortable benches in one side of the wall with great little wood tables. Can’t go wrong with La Marzocco machine and a friendly Barista at the helm. They offer syphon brewing which I think is great! I will have to come back and give it a try. Today a just settled for a nice cappuccino, it was pretty straight forward, no omplex flavors or coffee over powering the milk or the other way around. 3,50 $ capuccino, the macchiato is 3,00 bucks and the espresso is 2,50(I wish that they would realize not only this place but most places that the espresso and macchiato should be the same price) Anyhow, this place is great and has more than the usual amenities than most coffee places and is simply a good place to lounge, work and have good coffee with great service. The coffee they use is good, it’s from Rival Brothers who are very consistent in their roasting. I will update when I come to try their syphon brewing!

So excited about this place. The baristas are friendly and the coffee is great. I have only had the drip and cold brew but both are excellent. I wouldn’t mind stopping by here every day on my way! 5 stars because anything less will scare people off and I really do love it here but it’s not perfect so here are my suggestions to make it even more awesome: 1. The seats are designed for people 6’4″. I’m average height and I feel like a kid sitting at the table without a booster seat. Not a comfortable seat to work at for extended periods. 2. Some food options with a little more protein. The pastries that I have had are really delicious but I’d really love something with a little more protein to keep me full until lunch. That’s really it. Excited to see this place explode in an area without much else like it. Also, in response to the guy upset about too much foam in his cappuccino, that’s what a cappuccino is man, get a latte next time, 2 stars is harsh for a lack of latte art in your cappuccino(notice it’s not called cappuccino art).

This is my second time here and given that my drink is cappuccino I was pretty disappointed both times. The space is really nice Why not learn to make a really good cappuccino? It might be a step above Starbucks but that is only because of the local rival bros roasters beans they use here. There is some crema but too much foam on top and no art like a simple heart or leaf. It’s worth going the extra miles to hub bub where they seem to care more about the art of coffee rather than interior decorating.

A coffee house first and foremost, Green Engine Coffee Co delivers a superior product in a nice, homey space that separates itself from its competitors. So how good is Green Engine Coffee Co? Perhaps some context is needed — I hate coffee. Despise it in fact. It’s too bitter, so overrated, and the coffee culture is generally annoying. But I have a soft spot in my heart for small independent businesses, so I decided to stop by and give it a try. Like the TARDIS, the place is deceivingly bigger on the inside, which is further highlighted by the bright open interior, with a few chairs and tables. I was warmly greeted by my friendly plaid-wearing barista, who was more than willing to answer any questions and informed me they just opened last week. The menu is modest and very drink oriented, serving Hot(Espresso, Coffee, Hand Pour, Macchiato, Lattes, etc.) and Cold selections(Cold Brew, Affogato). There’s not a lot of food available, mostly pastries and bagels, and I hope that the food options expand as this business grows. They seem very oriented on the science of coffee(the sign says«History, Chemistry & Epiphany»). Be sure to check out the Cold Water Coffee dripper(see my pic) and some of the other cool coffee apparatuses behind the counter. I ordered the Mocha Latte($ 4 for small), which from the flavors(espresso, milk, chocolate) would be acceptable to a non-coffee drinker. I can honestly say, I really enjoyed my drink. The coffee/espresso flavor was there, yes, but it was perfectly complemented by the milk and chocolate taste. No one was more surprised than I was that I enjoyed it — they won me over. They also have some delicious sounding food options — Yogurt and Granola($ 4.50), Bagels with spread($ 1.10& $ 0.60) and a selection of Paninis($ 9.50) including Beet & Goat Cheese, Mushroom & Gouda, and Brie & Apple. Overall, Green Engine Coffee Co offers something different from the usual coffee house. Their wheelhouse is coffee, and I appreciate their singular focus on this while they continue to build and grow. They are a step up from Starbucks or nearby Saxbys, and with their recently added food options, this place has the potential to become«the» coffee place in Haverford. And I’ll be back for that Spanish Hot Chocolate and Brie & Apple Panini.

Captain’s log star date 110615: after responding to a mayday in the Degaba sector from a petulant adolescent named«Luke,» sensors picked up a strange reading near the Haverford train station. Long range scans detected life forms, and caffeine, so we sent an away team. The away team consisted of all the senior officers of the ship and a red shirt security rookie, Pvt. Jenkins. We discovered a warm, hospitable environment that exceeds any known coffee venue in this sector and elsewhere. The thick, foamy head on my decaf soy latte made the 20 light year journey worth it. Sadly, we lost Jenkins when he drank four double espressos on a foolish dare from Spock. Dr. «Bones» McCoy was unable to save him, stating«damnit Jim I’m a doctor, not a barista!» The away team returned to the Enterprise with a new found planet of coffee goodness, ripe for exploitation. Captain’s log out.
