I grew up on Mario’s when I lived in Cherry Point. Little League champions always got a pizza party. This is classic NY style pizza with a dedication to quality and customer service. I hope I can make it back someday.

Waiting time for a slice of pizza is a bit too long. Never waited about 25 min for a slice.

This place has good pizza’s that are huge! I’ve also ordered a calzone and it was delicious. It’s nice to have found a local place that offers a great meal. The only thing I wish is that they had a menu online.

This is my favorite place anywhere for thin crust pizza. I grew up in Havelock and loved Mario’s pizza back when bicycles were my primary mode of transportation. I have eaten pizza on both coasts, as far north as Canada and on the other side of the Pacific. I live in California now, but still have family in Havelock. My wife and kids love it too. Every time we visit, I make sure to stop at Mario’s, usually twice if I’m there a week or more.

I’m from New York and there’s nothing like NY pizza or so I thought until a friend who’s also from New York told us about this place and my husband and I loooooove it!!!

Not impressed. I’m a firm believer in customer service, and this was pathetic! I don’t care how good you think your food is. It was as if I was disturbing him to move three feet to help me. Last visit here

I love that this place is cheap and you can stop in a get pizza by the slice. The pizza is really thin, crispy, and has a great sweet and garlicy sauce. I tried slices with toppings and they just all fell off, so I save the 50 cents and just get cheese. For a quick bite I’d definitely recommend.

Awesome pizza!!! great staff. The guys are always extremely friendly and helpful. Service is quick and pizza is always spot on. I had ordered a pizza there once that was a little overcooked I would of settled for it and probably still enjoyed it but the guys asked me if I had a little extra time and cooked me a new pizza. I was amazed by the quality of their food and their service. Best pizza in havelock by far.

I stopped in on my way home one day because my sister said they had good pizza. It was just me, so I ordered Stromboli, and felt like a fat kid so I added an order of their ravioli as well… The order came up pretty quick and I took it home to eat. The ravioli wasn’t what i expected. I’m from St Louis, and our fried ravioli is a meat ravioli, while this ended up being a cheese ravioli. It was still delicious, though… The Stromboli was as big as my head. It was a monstrosity!!! It was SO delicious, I actually went all out and ate the whole thing. All around, great bang for your buck. I’ll be back to try more of their menu for sure!

Very good handmade pizza! We walked in to see one of the guys behind the counter rolling out the dough and making it into the size pizza that had been ordered. The ingredients were fresh — we ordered the Mario’s special which is pretty much everything. The decour is a little out dated and seemed 70’sish, but we had a great experience here

If this pizza shop was in New York City it probably wouldn’t last long, but here in Havelock, NC the pizza will suffice. This comes from a born and bred New Yorker so I’ve had my fair share of «NY style pizza.» First, the décor is just as it should be for a pizza shop, bare and with table and seating booths bolted into the ground. Now onto the food… my first reaction to the pizza was«hmmm. I’ve had better back in NYC» but I had to give my self a kick and remind myself that I’m not in NYC. So then I took a second bite. Upon my next bite I found myself wishing the bottom crust had more crunch and less chew. The back end of the crust was the best part of this pizza, it was crunchy. The pizza had minimal sauce leaving you wanting just a little bit more. Some may think this is a plus but it wasn’t greasy. Upon folding my pizza the clear slightly orange tinted grease that I expected to drip down the back end of the pizza was nowhere to be found. Overall, the pizza was exactly A-OK as the three stars I gave Mario’s Pizza indicated.

Great copy of New York style pizzerias? They’re missing one of the best things, Garlic Knots! I am quite disappointed that New Bern doesn’t have a single pizza place that has this. Pizza places in NY make these by the thousands each day! That is how good they are, and true NY Pizza places have them! Their menu in New Bern is so small. I am quite disappointed with them.

So excited to have found this Italian restaurant!!! They have great subs and dishes. Haven’t tried the pizza yet, but I’ve heard it is great also. Met the owners son, Tony and was pleasantly surprised they are true Italians!!! Great people, great food!!! Love that there is a local establishment to support!

Hands down, a great copy of New York style pizzerias! They do accept credit card payments above $ 5. And the pizza slices were very, very large. Even bigger than a typical slice I would get in NJ/NY. And I grew up in NY! $ 2.30 per slice is an okay price, much better than the $ 3+ prices I find in Los Angeles. They include garlic powder, a condiment not really given, as well as the usual red pepper and Parmesan cheese. The sodas are pretty cheap, like $ 1 for a small cup. And they serve Pepsi!(Possibly because the area brags about the founding place of Pepsi-Cola). Solved dinner for just $ 6, two slices, one with mushroom, and a soda. You got to visit this place if you ever in the area and wanna try NY style pizza. And yes, they do have the NY attitude, but just ignore it. They mean no harm.

My family loves this pizza. I haven’t had a lot of pizza in New York, but I can’t imagine it’s much better. And i don’t know how they get these New York dudes to make pizza in Havelock, NC, but i love the fact that they’re there. Really nice and the accent is a great touch. I think it’s amazing that I’ve found a pizza in Havelock that I like better than anything I had in San Diego. If my family has a «place» in NC, it’s Mario’s.

So far, this pizza has been the best one I have had in New Bern/Havelock to date. It was pretty good. The crust is what sold me– thin, delicious, with that crunch. The topping were greasy, but that worked and was good. The building looks like the ghetto– I was expecting crickets with switchblades. okay, not that bad… but still. it was pretty good.
