Cape Cod Country Club

This is a hidden gem. I was visiting a friend who lives 10 mins away and had no idea the place was here. I happened by the sign and got curious. Needless, to say, I was glad I took the turn. This is a classic new england layout. The layout is very good, but more importantly it is laid out over some fantastic terrain. With fast fairways and greens, there are several holes where a ball can run off the green and back to your feet from 50+ yards. A 1920’s type layout with humps and bumps all over the place. Not gimmicky, which is my number one criteria.
I am a 1 hdcp and I can say that this course is scoreable, but great fun. Right up there with Cranberry Valley, Old Barnstable FG, and Highland Links on the cape. It is really well-​designed, manicured, and fun to play. The ONLY nit-​pick would be that there are a couple weak holes in an otherwise 5-​star layout. I’d target 9, 16 – 17, which are pretty boring holes. If the conditioning when you visit is anything like it was this summer, you will NOT be disappointed.

Very impressive course. Beautiful fairways and impeccable greens. A bunch of challenging holes. Very nice people and a true out if town feel. (Coming from NYC) the golf carts are clean and run smoothly. If in the area, it’s a must.

This was my favorite place to play, not anymore. Just played 18 and the course was not in great shape, front 9 aerated greens and back nine not cut. I understand the need to aerate I don’t understand the need to charge $ 70(with cart) to play when the course is not up to par, actually they should never charge $ 70 for this course. It was a fun forgiving course with a great staff, but it’s not an elite course. Sort of sad to see the parking lot with 10 cars in it on a beautiful fall Sunday morning, it use to be full when they charged $ 40 plus cart. This will become a course I only play off season in the future unless they adjust their greens fees.

what an awesome course. and i’m not just saying that because i dropped a 70′ putt for birdie on the 460 yard par 5. ok, maybe i am just a little bit.
the lady and i were able to take advantage of a groupon — $ 40 for 18 and a cart — and drove down for a spot of golf on a cool, windy sundy afternoon. although it’s on the cape, it only took us about an hour to get here from the q, so you can definitely do a day trip here.
the set up here is great. the course feels really long, but maybe that’s just because i’m used to playing par 3 courses — a trend which may have happily ended. i played the white tees while the lady enjoyed a significant distance advantage from a majority of the reds. the par 3’s are extremely tight and challenging, the 4’s require some thinking, and the 5’s are long and wide open. grip it n’ rip it, baby!
the par 3 9^th has the only water you run into on the course and is probably the signature hole. you can find the sand as well on many holes, but the real challenge here is the change of elevation. it is not uncommon to have to pitch *up* 30 or 50 feet to the green from 100 yards out. to practice, i recommend trying to hit your 9 iron through a 4^th floor window. or something.
quick practical note — the address here is 48 theatre drive, east falmouth. the course’s website lists the town as «hatchville,» but east falmouth worked in my nav.
